The Wishing Well
My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience! Katie, our server was fantastic! We were celebrating our honeymoon and received complimentary champagne! The food was delicious, the ambiance romantic and just an amazing night!
The bar was too crowded. Difficult to get beverages. Happy hour prices were most reasonable. My martini was delicious. Our beans were too al dente, the mussels appetizer was small. The service was excellent! It was my birthday.
We had our wedding reception here in 1994. The restaurant is just as amazing now as it was then. Excellent service, amazing atmosphere. We could hear the piano from our lovely table by the fireplace. The food is absolutely outstanding. So great to see the Lee family still running the Wishing Well. A favorite always. ❤️
Always our go to for a celebration; service always top notch and foos is amazing!
One of my favorite restaurants. Consistently excellent!
Wonderful food and ambiance, however it was quite a long wait for dinner. Still worth it. Would go again
It was nice to return to the wishing well after 25 years. The food was good, steaks were nicely cooked. The chimicurri sauce was more of a thick and coarse tapenade and not very good. We kept asking to try the peppercorn sauce instead, but that request seemed to seriously confuse our waitress.
You might think about offering 3 sauces to choose from for each steak instead of assigning one random sauce to each one.
Martinis were good, but if you are going to provide a sidecar to top it off, you should consider putting the sidecar on ice.
Victor the host was kind and friendly.
Ann our waitress was thoughtful and warm.
Overall a very nice night with a sweet retro atmosphere.
Atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable except we were seated at a doorway with a lot of traffic and next to location where servers set trays for serving throughout dining room. Our server was not very attentive but overall everyone was friendly and pleasant to deal with. Lobster bisque was very good and stuffed lobster very good as well.
Awesome and special dining experience! Well worth the money for a memorable evening.
They always do a great job. They make you feel welcome, whether you're a regular or not. The food is well prepared, professionally served and tasty. At a table for six we had a range of entrees, appetizers and desserts. The prime rib and lamb chops were perfectly cooked, tender, juicy and flavorful. The salmon and chicken dishes were tasty and prepared perfectly. We'll be back and not just for special occasions.
Great food and great service. We went with the whole family and from my 7yr to my wife. We enjoyed it all.
We celebrated our 48th Anniversary and the staff made it an extra special night for us, starting with a glass of bubbly ending in a delicious dessert. Everyone was exceptional and we are looking forward to returning soon.
It was wonderful it was a visit from a childhood friend whom I haven’t seen in 30 years. We had a wonderful time & the food & service was amazing.
We come to this restaurant once a year. We both ordered prime rib, which was not very good. The management took both of our entrees off the bill. I think the way in which our complaint was handled was extremely professional. The waiter gave excellent service. We will return next September. I would also like to say, as a former restaurant owner myself, sometimes you get a bad piece of meat. But, I encourage everyone to give this place a try. I am sure you will enjoy it.
My husband and I were celebrating out 23rd Anniversary. When we arrived the Host wished us a Happy Anniversary, there was a sing on the table as well and once we were seated we were given 2 glasses of complimentary champagne. Service was great, food was amazing!! We both really enjoyed our evening.
Excellent as always!
Always our first go-to place to dine in Saratoga when we visit...
Family owned and operated with attention to every detail...
the warmth and hospitality make it our home away from home...
Will always keep coming back!
My family came here after dropping my son off at Skidmore. What a treat. We were greeted by the owner, served immediately by our waiter and checked on through the meal, so service was great. It’s a warm welcoming atmosphere that is hard to find nowadays. Beautiful farm house style but large so you can get a table. It was Sunday at 8 and still very busy. Food was very very good. I recommend the duck with blackberry reduction and this terrific berry bread pudding that just matched so well with the perfectly rendered and tender duck. The Brussels sprouts were also fantastic and the skillet cookie with butter pecan ice cream was killer. Great value for the money and totally worth the short trip out of Saratoga proper.
The food is always incredibly delicious at the Wishing Well but what was really quite special was Devin, our server, who took such good care of us! She was attentive to everything, so personable, incredibly funny and really made our dinner even better. It was like an old friend was serving us a meal at her house. As a restaurant you can do everything right with food but have lousy service that can really make an experience go downhill quickly. I would rearrange plans or wait extra time to make sure someone like Devin was taking care of us. Thank you for an extraordinary dinner!
I have been to the Wishing Well at previous times. This time the food was terrible. I didn’t complain because I don’t think it is fair to the owners. Their were a lot of people in the dining room that did not need to hear about our meal. The chef probably had a bad day. But it was not worth the $300 with tip that I spent.
Ann is our favorite waitress. Food was ‘ok’; corn was delicious, but the rest of our meal was not up to par.
Prime rib end cut very disappointing.
Parking attendant to aggressive after I parked in Handicap with my permit.
Noise level way to high, food turkey old and tuff, not enough dressing , lamb chop over cooked and dry.
Won’t be seeing me again. TERRIBLE
We ordered from your $35 menu My husband and I both had the haddock It was ok, but not what I was expecting. The ends of the fish were very dry. My waitress was very slow in bringing our cocktails. Seems like we waited forever. It was very crowded so we understood. Everything else was wonderful and we would give it a second try.
We called at the last minute as we had not planned to be in town... that's horseracing!
Robert, his mom, and staff juggled to accomodate our twosome... for yet another memorable evening at thg he Wishjng Well...
Fine dinjng complete with the fresh local tomatoes and corn on the cob we have learned to joyfully anticipate...
Seated right away. Very attentive service. Chicken pate and shrimp cocktail were great. Excellent Manhattan. Will be back for a romantic date again soon.
Food and service is always perfect. I have never been disappointed here. We brought out of town friends and they thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
Excellent service, and excellent food!!! Steaks were superb, fresh farm to table veggies family style. It was awesome!!!
Everything was quite good but I had crab cakes as an entree
Way to much bread
Not very good
We were warmly greeted upon entering, and chatted with the hostess who was very friendly. Our server, served us both in the bar and
Continued with us for our dinner in the dining room. This provided a nice continuity, as he was an excellent server. Food was very good,
and our order was precisely what we had ordered. The entire evening was lovely from start to finish, and we will definitely return!
The Wishing Well is one of our favorites in Saratoga Springs. A family restaurant that makes good old fashioned food. Like going to a family holiday. Bob and his mom make you feel at home.
The WW always puts on a great “show”. The baked stuffed lobster was amazing. The corn, tomatoes and bread basket are staples of the meal too. A nice touch at the end of the meal was car service. As it was Travers, we couldn’t get an Uber or Lyft to the restaurant, so we drove and valet parked our car.
Anyone who knows Saratoga realizes that the police are diligent (I’m being polite) so never drive, even if under the limit. It has become more of a revenue source than safety concern in my humble opinion. They drove us home and allowed us to leave our car in the lot, which we retrieved in the morning.
For an elegant meal, the WW is tough to beat !!
Very poor service. We waited along time. The turkey dinner was not good. No Peach Shortcake that night Very disappointing. Air inside was cfreezing
I must say that overall it was a lovely experience being that is was the weekend of the Travers Race at Saratoga - so LOTS of people. But then again, they are used to this. Will definitely go again when not quite so crazy ( I usually do not do these types of venues on HUGE local weekend events anyway). VSEry nice meal and wonderful service - TRY THEM OUT!!!!!!!!
Fabulous as always!!
See you next year.
Enjoy coming to The Wishing Well every year for horse racing time. Food good, service excellent
My husband and I visited the Wishing Well for a dinner out. I was specifically looking for risotto and of all the restaurants in the area this was the only place I could find that had it. The risotto was wonderful. My husband had the veal and that was wonderful. We had oysters as an appetizer and both had dessert. This might be our new favorite place for a fancier dinner.
While the corn and the tomatoes were good, we would have liked to be asked if we wanted more. I ordered the lamb loin chop, medium rare, and it was served to me raw....and so full of grizzle and fat that I could not cut into it. I am not a "complainer" and was with a business client and did not want to complain, so I just moved it around my plate.
Have been coming to this restaurant for our anniversary for twenty+ years. What has happened???
The bartender was phenomenal. Would highly recommend going to the bar Tuesday through Saturday
