Went for Sunday roast during a recent trip to London - unfortunately, by the time of our reservation at 6pm, they had sold out of Sunday roast! So disappointed - had come highly recommended by two London-based colleagues.

Food and service excellent. Pricey. Love the venue and would go again, one of my favourites.

Three of us had Sunday lunch. It’s a regular birthday treat for each of us.
The Bloody Marys are incredible.
I had John Dory fillets. Incredible.
Too full for a big dessert so I had a simple afogato.
Prices have gone up, but it’s still a great place to eat.

The waiters are not patient and enthusiastic enough. We are foreigners here , so maybe not skill enough to know exactly about the dishes. I think the restaurant may serve a menu with pictures will be more helpful for the foreigners.

Impeccable and incredibly gracious service. The setting is over-the-top elegant but with none of the pretentiousness one might expect. And the scones are to die for!

Called up 2 hours before to get my favourite seat and when arrived was pleasantly surprised that they were able to accommodate me. Service, staff and food was impeccable as always. Reason for 4 stars and not 5 was for the peep show I received from a fellow diner who though it acceptable to sit there with her shirt unbuttoned for everyone to see. Not what I would expect whilst having my lunch nor in this establishment.

A normally reliable (for us) venue just scrapes a four star review this time...could so easily have been a three (saved by the architecture). A mid-week dinner with friends was a fairly mediocre culinary experience and the service was rushed and rather disdainful.

Disappointing slip in standards (our last visit had been outstanding). Hopefully it was just an off night because this is one of our favourites in London.

Food just ok. Elegant space that is very noisy. They charge you for the table and gratuity despite high food prices. Menu is boring.
Service was very good. People must only go here for the art deco space.

Came with my boyfriend for afternoon tea on our first trip to London- the whole ambiance was a bit stiff, like you were at a business lunch. The service was excellent, but the food was only so-so. We had been planning to go to Fortnum and Mason which just seemed like a more fun and relaxed vibe, but someone mentioned the Wolseley, so we came. Somewhat regretful we did.

We are regular attenders to The Wolseley and are always very satisfied with our experience however on this occasion the service was inattentive not very friendly and the food...in particular the breakfast pancakes were well below par.

Lovely atmosphere for afternoon tea celebration with a friend. The afternoon tea selection is lovely. Very fresh scones, sandwiches and cakes. Unless you have a huge appetite one afternoon tea will be plenty for two. The table service is excellent, however front of house leaves much to be desired in view of their attitude and management of customers/tourists . I arrived on time for my reservation on a busy Friday afternoon. We were told to wait in a queue even though we had a reservation. People seemed to turn up after we arrived, go away and come back to be shown to a table. We were told this was because their reservation time was earlier than ours, however one person asked us what time our reservation was, then we overheard her saying to her friend that they would just “try to jump the queue anyway”. This group of three was shown to a gallery table, which we were hoping for. We were then told by “front of house” that they were shown to that table as the table was larger and more suited to three people rather than two people (our group). We were finally shown to a table for six! This was a lovely roomy table which we really appreciated. What I didn’t appreciate was the obvious dishonesty and perhaps bias towards local people over tourists, at least that’s how it felt to me. In summary if you want afternoon tea in London in a unique setting with lovely food and you’re not too bothered about waiting, go for it and enjoy!

Booked for afternoon tea with the family. Have eaten here many times before but fancied something a little different. Sandwiches were ok, cakes generally very nice if a little too sweet for my taste (particularly the cream with the pistachio sponge). Teas were great - and lots of it. As you would expect it was very busy but the staff were attentive and there was a great atmosphere - its such a gorgeous venue!

No special reason, early supper after Anthony Gormley Exhibition at the RA. Can always rely on The Wolseley for a lovely meal and ambience. Staff are charming without being obsequious. It’s a well oiled machine and a lovely room to eat and chat.

While we love the Wolseley overall, they do rush you which detracts from the experience. Staff is gruff and in a hurry and they turn tables so be prepared. We did not have our first drink and they wanted first and main orders asap. The noise level is pretty wild too though that settles down after 8 pm. Probs best to experience in a private room if you can. Love the food.

It was great to experience the traditional British afternoon tea here. The dishes are a little bit sweet for my taste, but the earl gray is amazing.
