What Insiders Are Saying
As far as classic, good-for-everything establishments go, it’s hard to beat the Wolseley. The breakfasts here are an essential London experience.
Very expensive. But staff are wonderful.
We went for a late lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was excellent . The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and did not rush us. The ambience is busy, but not noisy like some popular places as the tables are well spaced out. . The menu is not huge , but very varied , catering for all tastes. My wife had a complimentary pudding as I had advised them it was her birthday . We could not have wished for a better celebration lunch.
Wonderful hospitality, service and food!!
A London favorite!
I was very disappointed. Terrible service and food was not amazing.
We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. It has a great pulse, great service and excellent food too.
Outstanding service @ The Wolesley yesterday, surpassed their usual high standard! Lovely food, cooked and presented beautifully. If you have never been, I would recommend it, it never disappoints!
Lovely up until the end of our meal when they disappeared, and we couldn’t find anyone to bring our check and forgot a glass of wine for the table.
See and be seen
I just love The Wolseley! The buzzing atmosphere, great service, friendly members of staff, and delicious food all make for a memorable experience.
Great service good food and for LONDON a fair price.
Great place to have a productive business breakfast. Service is attentive and efficient and the food always meets expectations.
Excellent for a treat. Great decor, great atmosphere, very good service, food and wine. Only two slight criticisms: our wine was left in an ice bucket elsewhere but our glasses were left empty on one occasion (once I pointed it out had no more problems); the kedgeree was fine but lacked real flavour.
A wonderful dining experience in London.
Coq u vin too die for!
A little more attention needs to be paid to the people tucked away in the alcoves above the stairs. Great seats to watch what’s happening but not so great to catch the attention of the staff.
I love The Woleseley and have been multiple times for breakfast, tea, and now dinner. One thing I struggle with is that the wait staff never seem to be around at the end of the meal when you want to ask for the bill. It is very difficult to find them when you actually want to pay! Additionally, our waiter seemed to be a little bit on the rude side, just not very friendly as I've experienced in the past. But the food we received was indeed delicious. I would have loved to have been able to take the remainder of my kedgeree home because the serving was large and I wasn't able to eat it all, but it seems as if a nice establishment like The Wolseley doesn't do doggie bags. Pity. I hate to see all that food go to waste!
Anyway, the food is great even if the service is sometimes lacking. I'd still recommend this restaurant.
The setting was lovely and our waitstaff cordial and efficient. I was encouraged by the waiter to order the sole which was pricier than the entree I was thinking about. It was dry and tasteless. But everything else was delicious. I would return for the ambience alone.
Great Great Great
Great atmosphere and really special. Delicious.
A good type of afternoon tea, the scone and sweets were great, and the sandwiches were all right. It’s a lot for one person such as myself alone as i was, but everything was all right. The price is average and the same as expected/promoted.
This was a plentiful and outstanding tea service. We each very different types of flavorful teas and they were so tasty.
The food was fabulous. The scones deserve a review all on their own. Everything was great but the scones just stand out as exceptional. I would go back again.
Un luogo meraviglioso!
Servizio impeccabile e cibo di alto livello.
Doveroso andare appena possibile
Timeless elegance, amazing ambiance, great service and food from this London gem. A must!
I don't bother to look at the menu any more... schnitzel every time!
Great atmosphere, good selection of food, friendly service however a little slow and pricey.
Is such a gorgeous beautiful restaurant for a celebratory meal
Beautiful room, quintessentially British
Really loved the setting but I was expecting a little bit more when it came to the quality of the food
Excellent food, great ambience & very personalized service
despite booking in advance was given a poor table by the loos!
my favourite place in London. For all meals, for all events. It is magical.
Just amazing as I expected. Very good food, excellent service and the best location.
Excellent food (oysters), service
Love the Wolseley!!
Great as always.
Decent food great venue, and excellent in price.
Poor scrappy service
Great food and lovely to be remembered by staff following our private dining experience however the attending waiter was poor with slow service and inattentive to drinks and such like. Surprising given your normalcy high standards.
