Lovely dining room - and that’s what you pay for. Food was fine. However upon getting the bill discovered we’d been charged almost double for the bottle of wine we ordered. No apologies when they handed us back the new bill. So make sure you check yours!
Consistently outstanding service, ambience and food
Awkward 20 minute wait for table to be ready - clearly trying to pack in too many people!
Beautiful room, attentive staff & great menu. It is quite noisy in the restaurant - ideal for a lively lunch/dinner. Would definitely recommend & will return.
I arrange this lunch for my two best friends who were both 60 years old this year
I asked for a balcony table, which the Woolsley very kindly arranged they also arranged a beautiful written biscuit for my friends .
It had on it ,their names and birthday greeting .
Our servers were outstanding ,we were not rushed to finish our meals the food was delicious.
We were also given a selection of mini cakes.
Lovely restaurant. Breakfast service excellent. Food was served promptly, and we were not rushed with our dining. We will definitely be returning to dine again.
I cannot get over how wonderful everyone was.
I emailed them separately as it was my mums bday and they went above and beyond.
Incredible food and team- would recommend to anyone! Such reasonable value as well!
Gorgeous lunch, love the Wolseley experience. Never disappoints.
A charming evening started in the bar. Delicious light food. Great atmosphere. Very chic
Comida muy agradable: todo delicioso y el servicio excelente.
The service was excellent and staffs very helpful. My Avocado bruschetta was excellent but my nephew had Full English breakfast and the whole thing was dry and overcooked
But all in all it was a nice occasion
Fantastic food, excellent service and a great atmosphere.
Not cheap, but worth the money spent
Always a favourite. We booked at very short notice, managed to get a table but had to wait for 20 mins because the table wasn't available. Great service and lovely food.
So disappointed to see the service go downhill this badly. First time we came on a Sunday and we’ll never do it again: long waits for tables with no appropriate space to fit everyone waiting. Also booked for afternoon tea as per permitted by website and were then told we couldn’t have it for another hour. Waiters are rude and point at you when taking the order (“for her?”) - awful manners. And to top it all off, started clearing up plates before the whole table finished. The quality of the food and the beautiful room are the saving grace...
The food and ambiance is lovely. The service was just OK. The timing for the food to come out was impossibly slow.
My waiter was terrible. It took forever to order food, forever to receive food and the waiter was never around for me to order more coffee, tea or the check. In addition, when I requested water, I was brought and charged for a bottle of still water that tasted like it was refilled from the sink. (I can taste the difference). The food was good, perhaps even very good but I won't return due to the terrible service.
Deliciosa comida inglesa. Servicio excelente ya que preguntaron si íbamos al teatro para organizar los alimentos y los tiempos.
Their burger is excellent
I must have chosen poorly. My escargot were merely tepid and My Schnitzel was very salty. My companion loved his lunch.
Decent food and lovely European atmosphere, but the service could use some improvement. Can be slow and inattentive.
After dining at the Wolseley a number of times, I thought bringing my out of town guests here for brunch would be an easy option for great food and service -- I was so incredibly wrong!! I made the booking way in advance, showed up perfectly on time, greeted by the host and taken to our table to then sit there and wait for almost 20 minutes before anyone made any kind of acknowledgement of us. As I could see many of the servers chatting off to the side and walking right by us numerous times, I assumed there was a simple misunderstanding as maybe we were overlooked. No problem - it happens, so I nicely flagged someone who seemed to be the manager and very politely asked if we could place our order. He seemed VERY annoyed that I was asking for help and flippantly took our order. As the Wolseley is long famed for their Eggs Benedict, it was the primary reason we came. When we asked for our eggs to be cooked very soft, the gentleman taking the order said they can't control the way the eggs come out. I politely asked if he could make a note anyway. Our drinks came out much later, our water glasses were never refilled, our food was dropped quickly and after we cut into our eggs, one had them perfectly soft but the other two orders were so hard they would've bounced of the floor. Once again going with the "kill them with kindness" mentality, I flagged down the same manager and simply asked for soft eggs (pointing to the one order that was perfect -- and clearly possible to make). HE ROLLED HIS EYES AT US saying he "can't control the chef" -- but that he would ask him to try to get softer ones. At this point, I was absolutely mortified and thought about paying and leaving just to get out of the horrible situation. A short time later, he brought out the dishes which were much better the second time around. After the meal we paid and left without so much as receiving any kind thanks. It was truly one of the snobbiest, rudest dining experiences of my life. So disappointed.
Went for Sunday roast during a recent trip to London - unfortunately, by the time of our reservation at 6pm, they had sold out of Sunday roast! So disappointed - had come highly recommended by two London-based colleagues.
Food and service excellent. Pricey. Love the venue and would go again, one of my favourites.
Three of us had Sunday lunch. It’s a regular birthday treat for each of us.
The Bloody Marys are incredible.
I had John Dory fillets. Incredible.
Too full for a big dessert so I had a simple afogato.
Prices have gone up, but it’s still a great place to eat.
Amazing food and service worth every sec
Beautifully executed restaurant with lovely staff great coq o van
The waiters are not patient and enthusiastic enough. We are foreigners here , so maybe not skill enough to know exactly about the dishes. I think the restaurant may serve a menu with pictures will be more helpful for the foreigners.
Impeccable and incredibly gracious service. The setting is over-the-top elegant but with none of the pretentiousness one might expect. And the scones are to die for!
English breakfast amazing, the pancakes looked amazing but didn’t taste fluffy, more dense.
Thank you so much for another outstanding dining experience at one of our most favourite restaurants in London!
We are returning guests and will definitely come back next time!!!We loved the service, ambience and food and - our table , overlooking the entrance hall and full Wolseley setting!!!What.A.Great.Evening.To.Celebrate.A.special.Anniversary!!!!See you next time!
Called up 2 hours before to get my favourite seat and when arrived was pleasantly surprised that they were able to accommodate me. Service, staff and food was impeccable as always. Reason for 4 stars and not 5 was for the peep show I received from a fellow diner who though it acceptable to sit there with her shirt unbuttoned for everyone to see. Not what I would expect whilst having my lunch nor in this establishment.
Nice environment and delicious breakfast！
A normally reliable (for us) venue just scrapes a four star review this time...could so easily have been a three (saved by the architecture). A mid-week dinner with friends was a fairly mediocre culinary experience and the service was rushed and rather disdainful.
Disappointing slip in standards (our last visit had been outstanding). Hopefully it was just an off night because this is one of our favourites in London.
Food just ok. Elegant space that is very noisy. They charge you for the table and gratuity despite high food prices. Menu is boring.
Service was very good. People must only go here for the art deco space.
Came with my boyfriend for afternoon tea on our first trip to London- the whole ambiance was a bit stiff, like you were at a business lunch. The service was excellent, but the food was only so-so. We had been planning to go to Fortnum and Mason which just seemed like a more fun and relaxed vibe, but someone mentioned the Wolseley, so we came. Somewhat regretful we did.
We are regular attenders to The Wolseley and are always very satisfied with our experience however on this occasion the service was inattentive not very friendly and the food...in particular the breakfast pancakes were well below par.
It was nice
Excellent service and good value for money for afternoon tea in central London
Another wonderful Sunday night roast beef dinner at The Wolseley. Consistently good service and an exceptional decor and setting.
Love the classic English breakfast here. Wish there are more selections of fine coffee which will definitely complement the meal.
