the meal was excellant and staff very good but we all found it very cold in there no
no radiator on
Delicious food every time, and impeccable service - highly recommend!
Friendly helpful and polite staff, great food lovely. We visited on a Thursday and enjoy a nice relaxing evening.
Kelly the chef cooks the most amazing food always perfect cannot fault it
Took my mum here for Mother’s Day. The staff are lovely, the food was amazing and the everything was perfect.
We have eaten at the Woolpack on several occasions now and are really impressed with the food.
The pub has a lovely relaxed feel about it.
The only complaint we had were the roast potatoes....as our meal was a long time coming after our starter they had been reheated....but other that that all good xx
Warm welcome from the staff. Good service. Food well presented. Pleasant décor. Reasonable amount of parking space. Prices in line with similar establishments. Overall a good dining experience.
We haven’t been to the Woolpack since it was sold and refurbished. I made the booking via the internet which was easy and gave the option to highlight any dietary requirements. We have one child who is a very sensitive coeliac disease sufferer.
We received a very warm welcome and found the atmosphere very comfortable.
We were very well looked after, they took great care of supplying some great gluten free food of the main menu and my daughter was even able to have a steak burger and all the trimmings in a bun, doesn’t sound that exciting to some but this is one of the rare occasions she was able to have one and she loved it, which also made her feel included with the rest of us.
Overall the service was great, the food was fantastic and very tasty and we all enjoyed our meals. The pricing is fair and i don’t mind paying for a lovely meal....
Fab Sunday lunch 3 courses too !! already looking forward to next time
Lovely proper pub with a clean and more modern dinning area. Food was lovely, had 2 courses for a Sunday lunch, excellent value. Service could have been a little better but that’s picking. After eating went back down to the comfy bar area for a drink. Very nice overall
Great location for Sunday lunch. Good food service and venue
I took my daughter her as a lunch stop on the way to her weekend away. The food was excellent and the service was good. Very nice.
everything good with food etc only problem was the disabled access. My wife had problems getting up and down stairs.
We had a lovely meal here. The staff were all very polite and friendly, the beer was good and the food was absolutely lovely and very good value. We will definitely be returning.
Had to wait a long time for mains, two people had fishcakes both overcooked.
We met as a family halfway between us in Birmingham & family from Essex & London. Nice atmosphere , good service with pleasant & attentive staff.
Only one disappointment veggies with roast meal bit dull - 2 types of cabbage & carrots!!
Extremely poor service, waiting for over an hour for dessert. Tables crammed together to get more people in. The food is great though
Very enjoyable and the food was excellent. It was a lovely dinner with the family for Xmas treat. We all thought it was very good.
We meet with friends and there 3 children about once a month for a meal in the woolpack they are always very welcoming and helpful and extremely good with the children going out of there way to make us all comfortable
A fantastic and attractive pub and restaurant the food is delicious and the service great. For proper homemade food the prices are good. Definitely recommend the Sunday lunch! So big we had no room for desert!
All the staff very pleasant and efficient. Food arrived quickly, especially considering the amount of customers eating at the same time. Meals were all very good.
9 of us out for a Christmas lunch - all the staff very polite and positive.
A credit to the management.
Went to see our daughter, and her boyfriend, and boyfriend s family, had a great weekend, with a great comfortable stay at the woolpack
A last minute booking but they slotted us in and it was well worth it -
Food mostly good, but slow service let it down. Would go again though.:)
Hello....... This was my wife's 50th with just us as a family.
We booked online and requested balloons and were told they did not have any. When we arrived all the candles on each table were not lit and we askes for ours to be lit and were told their lighter had broke.
We were sevrved by a waitress who appeared to have the weight of the world on her shoulders. Really hard wor to make her smile,....gave up in the end.
We had fun amoungst ourselves but the place we would not return to unless things change
Food was excellent,as always,BUT the service was poor and for Sunday lunch 25 minute wait between each course was not acceptable.
Lovely birthday dinner for table of 15. Very well organised with very good service. Everyone enjoyed their meals and had a good time. Thanks
Menu provided a good selection to suit many tastes and the food itself was excellent. Good service, lovely place for a meal with friends
Lovely food, nice atmosphere and good beer! Would come again
Ate here with friends everything was very good. Unfortunately my husband had checked the menu on line and decided on the fillet steak but when ordering our food was told they had run out so a sirloin was requested but was told this had also run out. A restaurant should not run out of a basic meat so order in more and if they don't sell put them in the freezer. Disappointed in that respect. What we did have was good.
Lovely as always... staff are very welcoming and the food is always good
As always fantastic xxx
Went with my girlfriend for a date as we go to the wool pack for a few drinks on a Saturday normally. The food was delicious, her wine was also fruity and she loved it. Only problem was as we went later on in the day they had ran out of her starter of choice but were very considerate and gave her loads of other options and they took a little while to come over to the table but overall a brilliant meal and would happily eat here again
The Woolpack is a proper little gem in the Northamptonshire village of Islip. We recently had a bar snack on the bank holiday weekend, and this weekend decided to try their Sunday Lunch as it came so highly recommended.
We were seated just opposite the kitchen which we thought may be a little noisy but not at all. We were served quickly and were soon enjoying our starters. Staff were attentive without being suffocating and there was a very busy dining room.
After a little wait (expected as one of us had chosen a chicken dish which clearly said to allow some extra time) our mains came out and wow, what an amazing meal. The beef is highly recommended by us.
After starters and mains we were rather full, although the desserts looked very tempting we declined.
For 4 of us including drinks our bill came to £60, very reasonable affordable and we will be back very soon.
Came here with my parents on a bank holiday. The restaurant was half busy but had a nice atmosphere. The main courses were delicious but the desserts really let it down . Chocolate brownies were just choc sponge (as I find in many rests) my mum had a brulee which was 'ok ' and dad had a syrup sponge which was tiny and looked very much like the individual ones you buy . We all ate them because they were 'ok ' and were almost £7 each . When asked ,I said I was disappointed in my brownie they removed it from the bill immediately. She insisted that the desserts are all home cooked but im not so sure ! didn't go on to tell them about the others because I didn't want them to think I wanted everything for free . The waitress/ waitor were very proffessional and welcoming I will return but as we all like a dessert if these don't improve and match the mains I probably wouldn't go back.
