Good service with welcome recommendations from the very friendly waiter. Food was cooked and presented well. We were a table of four and all enjoyed our courses.
Twelve and a half percent service charge was added to our bill which we were happy to pay but the waiter told us this did not include a tip for him??? Never known this before, we left a little extra but it slightly marred what was a very enjoyable meal.
Food and cocktails were great, the steak is asa amazing as they claim! Service was a little slow but I do think they were under-staffed on the night I went and anytime we questioned about delays with our food etc the servers were more than apologetic and still made the experience a positive one. It definitely didn’t put me off and I will be going back again.
The staff were very attentive and excellent.
Unfortunately the restaurant was let down by the food which I felt was average. I had chicken and it was over cooked
Great gastropub. Not sure why it doesn’t feature higher on the quality radar. Great venue, focus on quality food with beef and fresh fish at the centre. Good service. Good wine list. Highly recommended for a group family Sunday lunch.
Always a buzz here and great local pub, the oysters are always a favourite 😄
Food was nice but unfortunately service was not. Drinks took forever and the waiter wasn’t attentive. Bread was stale.
Nice place with friendly staff, a mixed group and a very good atmosphere, though rather expensive for what you get.
Great location, lovely and warm decore. Very tasty selection of fish dishes. Quick and friendly service
Great staff, delicious eats and good ambience ! It’s one of the best in Chelsea!
Amazing food will definitively go back! Loved the sea bream and we want to go back to try the meat ;) Steak tartare was great and octopus too! The only thin was our main dishes took a long time although the waitress was very persistent on trying to get them out faster.
I am a bit surprised at some of the negative reviews of this establishment. Perhaps they have altered many of their practices or I am just more happy-go-lucky. I did go for an afternoon date/lunch. It was a nice sunny day and we sat by the windows facing the street which I always enjoy. The interior is nice wit dark woods and tiled kitchen. You can also (uncertain parts of the restaurant) watch the cooking activity which is always a plus to me. I was doing a low-carb diet at the time so this was a great choice for me. When I got there (immediately at 12 when they open) I did tell two people I had a reservation; there wasn't one person greeting at the door at that moment. I was told to pick whatever table I wanted. Several people filtered in immediately upon opening. Our waiter was new and had to go ask a lot of questions but I didn't mind. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. My food was beautifully presented (I had the green gazpacho w/salmon tartar and Ox carpaccio). I love that the ingredients are seasonal and are top notch. That means the most to me when I am dining somewhere, simple dishes were packed with loads of flavor. The ingredients were allowed to shine. I did have an issue getting my points redeemed as when I told a third person I had a reservation and wanted to be "checked-in" so they'd count he returned and said my reservation has disappeared from the system. I am sure this is because it was about 30 mins after my reservation time, by then. That's no big deal to me but if you go first thing (noon) they may not be totally ready/organized but you will have your choice of seats 🙂 None of these were a big deal to me as I loved the food and love more that this is in my neighborhood. One last note, it does say on Opentable they are 15 mins from Sloane Square or South Kensington. This is not by walking. I live about 13 mins walk from Sloane Square and 10 mins from South Ken and the restaurant is a further 18-20 mins walk from me.
We happened upon The World's End Market from reviews on Open Table and had a fabulous experience. The atmosphere was cool, but cozy and the service was great! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I would definitely go back on my next trip to London.
Service was rather poor. We had to wave and wave before even being noticed. We had to ask for appropriate glasses cutlery and bread repeatedly and the waiter were rather incompetent and scarcely proactive. It really seemed they were rationing bread. some meat cut on the menu are priced for 100g like Chuleta de Buey, unfortunately we were told the minimum cut was 1500g which comes at 234£. Totally ridiculous especially in consideration of the place you are. No wonder it was half empty on Friday night.
Hardly gastro pub
Good food and decor.Nice seabass, friend liked her halloumi burger, quite quiet for weekend lunch, but snowy weather probably kept people away. Heard this place is good in the evenings.
Food, Service and Ambience overall was very good. A bit disappointed that staff kept serving an extremely drunk lady. This lady was clearly not coherent yet she was not spoken to and taken care off. That spoilt the setting a little bit other than that a firm 4 stars.
Oysters were lovely and so was the steak. Be mindful when ordering wine. I chose a savignon blanc not realising it cost £15 per glass rather steep. House wines are available by the glass. If ordering using Gourmet society discount then you must book prior and have this noted to the booking to receive the 50 percent discount Monday to Thursday (food only). Ask for a rable when bookig in the main restaurant. The side tables are too small when ordering food. Usually busy Thursday. Friday and weekends.
The service and food were really disappointing. We ordered steaks and fish. One of the steaks was badly cooked and sent back and then for a second time they sent the same steak out and again cooked badly. The sea bass was offered off the bone but came out on the bone and was not great either. The manager offered us desserts as an apology but the cheesecake was terrible and they forgot our coffees. A 12.5% service was added to the bill, which was ill considered given the poor experience we had been offered.
Usually a great restaurant for fish, this restaurant had a very poor NYE offering.
All of the usual, good items were removed from its menu in favour of a lazy/profit spinning menu aimed at ease for the chef. The steak was of a very low quality and very fatty and the cheese and cauliflower third course was terrible - frankly something from a supermarket would have been better.
Choosing from the fish counter is a delight- unfortunately the restaurant fell down by getting rid of what it does best.
This was a milestone birthday lunch with the godson, taking place in that dead period between Christmas and New Year. The World's End is fun and lively - especially in the evenings and it is good news that the managers seems to have settled into the skin of the landmark old pub properly. However, the good vibe of a fun lunch was somewhat dented by a bill for the steak alone that we had ordered of over £200. It is ordered by the gram but our piece was very, very fatty and cooked blue rather than rare. More guidance and fairer butchery, please.
For the steak connoisseur. The rich and deep flavour of the 180 aged entrecôte carpaccio are absolutely amazing. A brilliant introduction to the full flavours that await you for your main course. Both the cow and the Ox are amazing. Though if choosing, I'd recommend the Ox (buey).... go hungry. Very hungry. Also be prepared for a very punchy bill. The team there are fantastic and very enthusiastic. Enjoy
A true neighborhood gem! Have been a few times and never disappointed.
This a good local restaurant with occasionally more creative dishes. The meat is always of very good quality. Wine list is OK but no more. Some of the smaller wines are too expensive for what they are.
Service is inconsistent, I live round the corner and have been here a dozen times; it is always the same, very attentive when you arrive but by the time you get to desert and it is busy you are ignored unless you call for attention.
Nice enough, will go back but realistically it is a 5 out of 10 at best.
Worlds End was unexpected - beautiful ambiance, small but good menu, and a really nice neighborhood vibe. The chef came out and provided excellent advice on ordering. However, the service was inconsistent and elevator jazz slightly annoying. If they can do something about those two, then we're back for sure!
Very slow and forgetful, albeit attentive and polite, service. Food was good, but pricey. Smallish entrees.
The food is good as is the ambiance but the waitstaff does not pay attention to the order. We ordered starters and main dishes and everything came at the same time despite the fact that we were specific when ordering.
Otherwise it's a great spot.
The beef here is amazing. It is so tender and juicy and a good price. I highly recommend the steaks. The waitstaff was incredibly kind and very attentive. The bar serves amazing cocktails and the bar upstairs has great ambiance.
I did enjoy the meal at world's end!
Definitely nice starters, lovely the window with whole Rib from Spain .
I will recommend the Restaurant to my friends !
Lovely food. I had salmon which was cooked to perfection. Fries with truffle oil were perfect. Lovely place, good service, will definitely come again. Good menu.
A pub with tables. But despite the appearance it produces great food with outstanding friendly service. Highly recommended.
Always enjoy the food there. Fresh cooked and friendly staff.
We sat down for dinner. The table broke. Very awkward as the tables were quite cramped.
We were moved to a poor table by the door where we were in the way of people leaving the bar, who kept knocking into us as they walked past. We then decided to leave before the night was ruined any further. Didn't get to try the food, have heard semi positive things. Service was ok to move us once, but not much reaction to try to accommodate us further.
Worlds end is a great bar with fantastic bartenders, yet I have always gone to other local restaurants for food. I finally decided to give the food a go, yet this was the experience. We walked down to medlar and had a great meal instead.
Really a lovely surprise! Was on a first-ish date and the staff could not have been more accommodating and lovely. The food was superb - the steak tartar was sublime - and when asked for chili sauce, a GORGEOUS Korean-inspired salsa came out which was delicious. So happy it was not more tabasco. Desserts were similarly fabulous - especially for me who is not normally a dessert person - cheesecake was almost like pudding - loved the consistency. My date had the molten chocolate, which he loved.
The only feedback I had was that I would have liked a slightly quieter table, but the layout does not really allow for it...however, would run back to World's End Market!
We went for brunch on Saturday, based on the location and other reviews. The ambiance was nice, we liked the menu, the food was tasty, although a little cool, and it was good value.
All this was spoiled by the staff. There was no manager on duty, as far as we could see, and they took their time to do everything. Despite having nothing else obvious to do, the barman didn't start to make our tea and coffee until 15 mins after the order was taken, and the food took even longer. We watched cooked breakfasts sitting on the counter for at least 10 mins before the waiter decided to deliver them. The group next to us had to ask the kitchen staff to pass over their pastries in the end. This is such a shame. I hope the Worlds End Market can resolve these issues because the place has so much going for it otherwise.
Nothing good. Nothing bad. Good service. Very noise. Extremely noisy. Overpriced. Small portions. Hot spot that will close soon.
Great food and outstanding cocktails. The waiters knew what they were talking about and had some excellent suggestions. The pub has been refurbished but still has a lot of original features. The open kitchen and fresh fish/meat lockers place the emphasis on the food which they delivered on
Good ambience although we were seated on a table by the entrance so got quite chilly at times. The food was good but not abundant, my sole was very small, but quite good. The late night bar upstairs is really cute and great for a drink with friends or for a date. Will be back for sure soon
Second time in a week. I think that said it all. Love this place.
Favourite local to me. Lovely staff and whole new menu for 2017. Love this place.
Short staffed which meant the service was poor. They had also run out of a number of dishes however this was at 10pm. Food as always was outstanding.
