Great food and service , made my guests feel really special
This restaurant never fails. The food, the service, the staff just about everything is absolutely wonderful. We have been to this restaurant many, many times and always enjoyed ourselves.
Very nice restaurant
Food wonderful. Service bitty and sporadic. Three hours from beginning to end for dinner. Lots of staff but didn’t know who was supposed to be serving our table as lots of different faces. Had notified when booked that it was my husband’s birthday - no mention of this and as service so odd decided to keep my mouth shut.
Good location, good food, service is pleasant but inefficient
Some of the best Italian food I've eaten anywhere. The service was great and the off peak set menu is excellent value. Will go again.
I had an exceptional meal at Theo Randall’s. The first course of squash ravioli in sage butter was one of the most delicious pasta dishes that I’ve ever tasted. The lamb as second course was perfectly roasted. The service was very professional and courteous. I look forward to dining there again !
I was looking forward to trying this restaurant but was very disappointed with the food and service. Both my dishes came out totally different to the menu description, the appetizer ordered was a pasta and the kitchen sent out a risotto! My main dish was supposed to be a wood fired medley of roasted vegetables and I got a dish of fried tempura vegetables! On questioning the waiter he offered no apology and did not even try to rectify the mistakes! As we had a guest dining with us it was uncomfortable situation. Will never eat here again, what a shame that a great chef has his name on this type of restaurant!!
Our meal here was fine, but not special in any way. Unfortunately, the restaurant was just rather lacking in atmosphere. It didn't help that it was just bare tables, no tablecloths. Admittedly it was a Monday night dinner, but it was only about a quarter full. And it suffers from the problem that it is a restaurant inside a large hotel, so many of the other diners were business people or families who had come there to eat just because it was the hotel restaurant downstairs from their room so they didn't have to go out. And that's what it felt like. But other big London hotels do manage to create an intimate, special vibe in their restaurants, so it is possible.
On the plus side, the staff were all universally friendly and charming. However, service was very slow. We had to wait forever for our main courses, and no one came to acknowledge this. When we asked if they were coming anytime soon, the waitress told us that there was a very large private dinner in another room, so the kitchen had been busy with that.... The food is italian, and it was all cooked perfectly okay, but there was nothing amazing about any of it. My antipasto starter was just a boring plate of mixed salad leaves with a few pieces of tomato and goats cheese. I make a much better salad than that for my lunch most days. And when I go out, I want to eat food that's better than I make myself.
We had a cocktail each beforehand in the Arch bar. This just basically turned out to be an open plan space that is an extension of the hotel lobby. So zero atmosphere, and hotel guests at other tables having coffee and business meetings. We had the Open Table set price menu for dinner, and together with a cocktail each the whole thing cost £140. Which would have been fine if any of it had just felt a bit more special. I wouldn't recommend it for a date, but if you just want a quiet low-key dinner with colleagues it would maybe fit the bill.
Great value food and service. Theo was a great host and took time to chat with our table and introduce the chefs. A perfect birthday treat for our guests.
Met friends for brunch and had a lovely time. The food and drinks pairings very generous for the price and the quality of the cooking is excellent. Can’t wait to go back!
Food is great, good size portions of splendid Italian food! Love it!
From the minute you enter the hushed loveliness that is Theo Randall’s restaurant to when you leave, full to bursting having eaten the most delicious food, the experience is one that you will want to repeat again and again.
The staff are lovely, attentive, but not overly so. The food is just sublime.
I think this is my favourite restaurant in London. I have never had a bad or even mediocre experience. It is always fabulous!
Probably best Italian food I have had in the UK at Theo Randall. We were on a set menu but plenty of choice, excellent value. The staff were friendly and the restaurant had a great atmosphere without being noisy or overcrowded on a Friday night.
Service at Theo Randall is beyond good. Always a great pleasure to go for dinner there.
Food was amazing! Best pasta we have had, couldn’t recommend it more. Attentive staff and lovely interiors
Great food and fantastic value for set menu with half bottle of very good white wine.
This last meal was a significant step down from the previous three times. We’ve loved all of those past three.
Food-wise, the mushroom risotto was a fair bit too salty and the ricotta cheesecake came with tonnes of raisins which was not advertised and my partner dislikes.
Service-wise, the sommelier didn’t quite seem to understand that I just wanted to finish my glass of champagne before trying the red. So we then didn’t see him again until we had to wait a good ten minutes after our first bottle of wine was finished to get another, which then didn’t arrive quite in time for the mains.
So the whole experience was still ok but when you’re paying that sort of money, you really expect better and we probably wouldn’t go again.
Having travelled from EDINBURGH to celebrate a birthday, it was well worth the effort.
Food was fabulous the Amouse Bouche of bruschetta was outstanding - best ever. We chose the baked cheese soufflé & Cappelletti di vitello as starters which were super tasty, mains of lobster linguine and the turbot which were both delicious and desserts of lemon tart and panacotta, which just finished off a beautiful meal.
Lovely atmosphere lots of chatter and ambience which was good as there is nothing worse than a restaurant where you’re afraid to talk.
Wine prices very reasonable and a good choice with the sommelier advising on what goes best with dishes.
Our server was excellent, unfortunately I can’t recall her name but she was very attentive without being intrusive.
All in all we had a fabulous time.
Good quality ingredients in interesting dishes (with some familiar amongst them). Service was a little slow, and not quite as slick as would expect.
This is our favourite restaurant and it's convenient for us as we live in Kensington. Been to this restaurants many times. The food is just outstanding matched by the service. Our friends and guests from overseas also loved the restaurant.
A couple of colleagues and I went into the restaurant last week. The food was excellent and service good. Location is good for Mayfair and West End.
Excellent meal and catered for kids
Good service made it all the better
Excellent food, good choice of wines, but some confusion about “special offer” service and attentiveness from staff was great. Good value for Central London... overall excellent.
Beautiful restaurant with great ambience. We felt very welcomed from arrival and the service was superb, relaxed and friendly.
We were a group of friends and tried the 'set menu', which I thought it has fantastic value. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The mozzarella with roasted peppers was amazing. The mixed salad had a delicate dressing and was refreshing. The table was split on the orata and lamb, but both dishes were winners. Everyone loved the desserts. The added half a bottle of wine per person was an extra bonus!
Theo Randall at the intercontinental is a firm favourite. Great food, service, value and ambience. Set Menu is a winner .. book it!
We had a lovely meal at this restaurant it was our first visit. We both had the Sea Trout as a main course it was excellent very meaty and well cooked. My wife had the salad starter and i had the thin sliced Fillet of angus beef it was delicious. It was a very relaxed evening did not feel at all rushed and we will certainly visit again.
As on previous visits everything was of the highest standard you could expect - will visit again next time we are in London.
A wonderful birthday lunch for my husband although we arrived for our booking and the restaurant was empty. However, the service and the food were excellent. Despite a mix up on one course, which was rectified immediately, we couldn’t have received any better service. Only one dish was a little disappointing- the lamb for main course - but the rest of the dishes more than made up for it. The ravioli was the stand out for me and my husband loved the risotto and the sea bream. The minestrone soup was a revelation. Would definitely eat there again.
A fantastic experience. Great food is a lovely setting, we really enjoyed our meal. Can’t wait to come back!
Fantastic five course taster menu complemented by Impeccable service throughout the evening.
outstanding experience at a relaxed venue. food superbly cooked and presented. will return soon.
Came here with a friend. Asked to move tables as we had been placed in a very dark spot indeed. Almost impossible to read the menu for that reason. We ordered tap water and were duly brought a glass each. No jug left on the table so that we could help ourselves-it’s not allowed apparently. Service was great, apart from when we the needed to get attention to fill our water glasses-such a pity that this spoiled it a bit for us. We would have liked table cloths for a more formal atmosphere which we were expecting. That said, we came for the food and it was fabulous, all courses tasty and well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back.
Booked for dinner on a Monday evening and expected it to be quieter but there was a group function in the room next to the restaurant. We asked to move tables as the noise was so bad that we could barely hear each other. This was accommodated but could have been difficult on a busier night. Our waiter didn’t instil great confidence in his knowledge of food allergies and intolerances (confusing lactose for gluten) but the other staff were much better. Ordered the special - 3 courses for £35 - food was tasty and quite rich, but nothing that was especially memorable or having a wow factor. Would have been disappointed if we’d paid a la carte prices.
We had the most perfect evening that we could have wished for.
Another good meal altogether, service was a slight let down this time around. But waiter looked rushed off their feet. But set menu is always great value and food is great!
What a wonderful evening. Superb food and the man himself came and spoke to us after we were invited into the kitchen. As my roots are from Puglia I was thrilled with the food and to hear of Theo’s love of Southern Italy. Great food, level of service and can’t wait to return.
We had a lovely lunch. The 3 course lunchtime menu with a glass of prosecco at £35.00 a head was great value and delicious. Perhaps because it was a bank holiday and a bit quiet, the staff whilst very nice were a bit over attentive which felt intrusive but when I had a look at the from the chiefs table at the view of the kitchen one of the waiters was very helpful and took the time to explain the areas and functions of the kitchen. We will definitely return and recommend
Delicious and very tasty food, no soft surfaces so resonance affects the atmosphere.
Great food and value with the 3 course deal, and obviously fantastic venue. Would recommend
