Theo Randall at the InterContinental

Amazing value and delicious food, highly recommend
Food is amazing and service! Great value! Thank you
This is the best deal in town. Theo Randall is incredible anyway and this meal and wine offer is tremendous.
A disappointing experience. Very little atmosphere. This was our anniversary lunch and the restaurant was aware of this. At no time was any recognition made of the fact and left us feeling a bit flat. The luch set up was I feel very misleading... there was no hint or offering of a set price menu with prosecco. when challenged, reference was made only to having to book via open table . This is a complete nonsense .. if there is a set price menu option this should be clearly identified and offered to all customers.
The food was only passable and certainly not worth the cost. I will not be recommending the restaurant to my friends ... quite the reverse.
The three course meal and half a bottle of wine deal represents excellent value for money. The quality of the food is superb. The wine very good. Attentive service. Excellent
The food and ambience were excellent and we had a very enjoyable evening
Great food and service. Wine specialist was very friendly and gave the best advice on selecting the wine
We are hugely disappointed, as we had expected the food and the ethos of the cooking to be in line with Theo Randall's training and the views expressed in his cookery books of which I am a fan. The food on the night was poor in intrinsic quality and badly cooked and presented. The wines we drank were overpriced and barely drinkable. The staff were unresponsive, appeared to be poorly led and clearly moral is low. At one point the excuse was made that there was large party in a private room, this is not acceptable anywhere but especially not in a Michelin Chef's restaurant. It does appear that Theo Randall's good name is being abused at the Intercontinental. One of the most disappointing restaurant meals we have had, out of a huge number the we have taken in London.
One of the pleasures of living with good public transport connections to London is the accessibility to some very good restaurants. Few times a year, on important occasions, one can treat oneself to a special meal hoping that a chosen restaurant fulfills the rather high expectations based on dinning out in London. For a number of years now Sunday brunch has been our celebratory meal of choice and two London restaurants are responsible for setting a very high benchmark - unfortunately one of them no longer serves brunch and the other has now changed beyond recognition and, in my view, falls woefully short of its previous standard. And so, with a rather important birthday coming up we decided to try the brunch at Theo Randall's. What an absolute delight! All the starter dishes (and there were many!) were incredibly fresh and beautifully presented with the main ingredients themselves singing the loudest - perfection! Words fail me when it comes to describing the delicate and very, very tasty Ravioli di Zucca with its addictive sauce. Choosing the mains proved rather difficult but we finally settled on lamb and guinea fowl and both were delicious - cooked exactly the way we like our meat cooked. I love crepes and having one cooked to order was a real treat but by now I had no more room for any other desserts. However, it completely blew me away when, this being my birthday, I was presented with a selection of other desserts with which I could continue celebrating my birthday on the next day. The service was very professional and attentive, the prosecco was free flowing indeed and, very importantly for us, we were designated a quiet table as requested at the time of booking. We must thank all the fantastic staff who enabled us to have such a memorable meal and we are very pleased to have found a new venue at which to celebrate all of our important occasions. Moreover, I have already started recommending Theo Randall's restaurants to friends.
This was our second visit to Theo Randall at the InterContinental. Last time we had the tasting menu which was a great introduction. This time my husband had the cheese soufflé, Guinea Fowl and then the Affagato for dessert. I had the rare roast beef salad, the wood-roasted Turbot and then the seasonal sorbet. Everything was perfect – there was a lovely atmosphere and both the service and food were exceptional. We will definitely be back again!
Lovely evening celebrating a couple of birthdays. The food was delicious and the service attentive, which made for a fantastic night.
Best pasta ever, I really enjoyed! I would definitely come back to try more dishes
we looked forward to going for a long time, it did not disappoint, plenty of choice from the buffet starters, followed by the best ravioli I have ever tasted, and it just went on from there, lovely plate after lovely plate, the Processo flowed, service was very good, can't wait to go again
Had a wonderful meal here and had a fabulous seafood risotto to start followed by sea bream and the most amazing lemon tart!!
I think their Cappelletti di vitello is one of the best pasta dishes in London. Really a good restaurant!
Food choice was very good and the food itself was well cooked with good quality ingredients. Portions are too large and a bit overwhelming. Service was excellent. The real problem with this restaurant is the ambience, the room lacks any character and the piped music makes it feel even worse. It’s too big and was virtually empty on a Thursday night. If you are staying in the hotel that might be fine but for friends going out for dinner there are better places. The staff and food deserve better.
Had a amazing time as usual
Delay in mains but this was explained that chef wasn’t happy with our dinner and started from scratch
Maybe could of offered a glass of wine whilst we waited !
All perfect, great service of greatfo0d and drink, buffet items continual replenishedas was the Prosecco on the Saturday/Sunday brunch event.
I would recommend the venue even if we had some negative points.
The food was very good but the desert for two of us was disappointing. The Affogato came with cold espresso.
The waiter was very helpful but had to go back and asked twice as he was not familiar with the menu. We ate of the set menu so not many dishesThe Maitre d' did only come to our table when paying the bill although he was around the dining room. The Sommelier was knowledgeable about the wine list but spilled some wine when serving and I had to wipe the fot of the glass to prevent staining.
Petty points maybe but should not have happen. My husband would have said something at the time but as it was a birthday lunch he choose not to.(He has extensive catering experience)
We got there on time for our reservation, however there wasn't any tables available so they allowed us to sit at the bar and offered us complimentary prosseco. Very welcoming, and the food was amazing. Light and tasteful. Proper Italian food and worthy of having a Michelin star.
Went for a special birthday celebration. One vegan person in attendance. V little acknowledgment of the occasion. Service pretty slow from wait staff. He’d clearly highlighted but manager chose to ignore. Seemed more that he was inefficient as no others were struggling with same #of tables. Impressed that they had both veggie and vegan menus. Dishes (non vegan friends also chose from there) were relatively bland for such bold veggies. Better use of herbs and proper seasoning could have helped for sure. Also no vegan friendly dessert options. Would you like sorbet or not? Is not an option.
No acknowledgement of the birthday until just before the bill arrived. Seriously unsubtle way to get a tip. Neighbours had similar experience with big anniversary.
£95 per head for 3 courses and 1 bottle of wine is not good value in my book for the quality of food received.
We went on a fixed price meal at 7.30pm. We thought the place might be a bit quiet but it was half full when we arrived & got busier. The menu choice was excellent & the food delicious especially the pasta & fish.
Unbelievable value for food if this quality. Thanks
The food was excellent, ambience not so good
Valentines set menu portion size a bit small but food quality and ambience was great
Fabulous food, excellent value. Will definitely visit again. Only negative is the decor of restaurant.
Food was good, the tortelli, the soufflé and bred remind me of the one I always have in the south of italy.
Worth going for a casual lunch if you fancy a bit of italian taste.
We have eaten here before but only as a last minute option, pre booking has to be the way forward, the level of service and attention to detail is second to none.
Went for a £35 three course meal that included half a bottle of wine each, outstanding value and the food was beautiful.
Will definitely be coming back.
Beautiful food in a lovely setting, with friendly and efficient staff. The opentable menu was good value and the food came in generous portions and was great value for money. Would definitely recommend and would visit again!
We enjoyed the fixed price menu with wine. As always the food was simple, well prepared and very tasty. The service was friendly without being pushy.
Had a wonderful time at Theo Randall at the Intercontinental. The staff are wonderful and should be commended on their customer service. Will certainly visit again when in London next.
Extremely disappointing food. Agnolotti’s filling was very tough. Guinea fowl was a massive portion (please, it’s not a canteen), but rather badly cooked: slimy skin on the outside and raw on the inside. Just bad.
3 courses and half bottle of wine for 35 pounds is simply exceptional value for money. Food excellent as always, atmosphere is ok but suffers from the complete lack of windows.
Over priced and underwhelming unfortunately. The wine was delicious but that’s the best thing I can say about our experience
Service was slow re drinks but food was almost too quick - starter arrived very soon after we ordered and main within two mins of starter being finished. Wine arrived after we had nearly finished starter. Wine choice expensive. Shame - was looking forward to it but wouldn’t go back
My husband & I had aperitifs in the bar in the restaurant - Negroni & Aperol Spritz- which were very good. Service throughout our visit was attentive & staff most pleasant. The restaurant itself was very disappointing- no atmosphere at all - lighting was too bright, table settings average - it didn’t feel very upmarket - just clinical & soulless. The food was ok but nothing special. Ok for a business lunch or dinner but in general thought it very overpriced & nothing special.
I love the food at Theo Randall. The ingredients are always fresh and the food is very innovative. I think it is one of the best Italian restaurants in London. It is also lovely and quiet, even when busy, I cant bear some restaurants where the acoustics are so bad you cant hear anything. The gin (from Lake COmo) and tonic was amazing!
High quality food made with simplicity with beautiful flavours and fine meat and fish. Well constructed plates and good portion size. Our waiter Sebastian and the sommelier Alberto both experienced in what they do and delivered excellent service. Looking forward for an excuse to go back !
