We had a lovely meal straight after the theatre. Can recommend it as a cosy and welcoming setting.
Fantastic food and service and very good value. Our first visit here but not our last.
Food was quite mediocre (avoid the quail; it's an awful mix of flavours and essentially meatless) and waiters clearly had no idea what gluten-free means. Apparently it somehow involves butter and cream? Made more unpleasant by a table full of Peaky-Blinders wannabees sharing the restaurant. Not the best night out I've ever had.
Arrived for our 5:30 reservation to find the restautant closed. Rang twice, answerphone only, so no one on duty, wandered off for 10 minutes, went back, still closed, gave up. So, future patrons be wary if you have an early evening booking.
Great Naga, but the mix grill was a bit of a let down as it was on the small side.
Very good food and great service and open after the theatre (unlike most places in Stratford)
Fabulous food. Great service. Will return again soon.
Went to Thespians for my Birthday, lovely food and great service. Will definitely be returning when visiting Stratford-upon-Avon again. Thank you.
Good food nice atmosphere good value for money friendly people
Met up with friends in Stratford for a drink and rounded the night off with a superb meal. exceptional service as well as being at a very reasonable price. It is the second time we have ate at Thespians and would thoroughly recommend it to anybody visiting Stratford-upon-Avon.
We will definitely be back a third time, thank you 5 stars!!
Can't really fault it. Thoroughly recommended, both food and service.
Great place, great food and great staff!!
Lovely food as usual great service would definately reccomend we will be back.
Excellent food with very efficient and polite waiters made our pre-theatre meal the perfect start to our evening. Our second visit to dine here and equally impressed with every aspect.
This was a pre-theatre dinner, and as the performance began at 7.00 pm we had to eat really early. Happily, Thespians serves their full menu all day so we were able to eat at 5.30 pm. At that time we were the only diners so the ambience was not great, but we enjoyed very good service. We will certainly re-visit whenever we are in Stratford. My wife ordered 'Heavenly Prawns' and was served with three of the hugest king prawns we have ever seen . The other standout was my Peshwari Naan - bigger, fluffier, nuttier than any I have had before.
Me and my wife was going to Shakespeare theatre and decided to book last minute .
The quality of the food was superb along wit the service.
We will defiantly going back on our next visit.
Thespians offers excellent traditional dishes as well as very unusual options. All of the dishes that I've had there have satisfied my taste for a classic curry but with something extra that is distinctive and memorable.
Great choice on menu, very tasty food and attentive friendly service made for and excellent early evening pre-theatre meal. Will definitely be returning to eat here in the future and would happily recommend to others.
If you would like to consume red dye, eat poor quality courses and be treated rudely and ignored, go here. Very disappointing, seems to be in a time-warp of how Indian restaurants were 30 years ago. Please check out other options.
Outstanding food and service. Best curry in as long as I can remember.
Very large menu with unusual items available.
Very cramped restaurant, somewhat tired decor, one of our four mains was a culinary hit. Smelly toilets undermined my party's confidence in hygiene.
Booked two nights in a row the first a pre Theatre occasion and the second night because we so enjoyed the food and ambience from the night before which gave us much more time. The service was excellent and we were well cared for. It's a shame we live so far away because we would be regulars.
very enjoyable Indian, gravy with main course very tasty, service good, price reasoonable
The food was absolutely fantastic! Curries were very flavoursome and amongst the best we've ever had! The decor was very dated and could do with some tidying up but the food was great!
I'd read a few reviews left on Trip Advisor and some good and some poor. In general I prefer to make my own mind up unless theres no good reviews.
The restaurant is small as it stated in the reviews and also there's no real waiting area except at the doorway, which is where we were sat down, but that didn't spoil a very good night out with friends that we hadn't seen for a number of years.
Right now to the all important part- the food. Starters were okay but nothing special, the main course we all thoroughly loved. An excellent taste and very well presented. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are a foodie
Fantastic food and service, head of house very accommodating even offering taster of unknown sauce. Good value for money, generous portions.
This was a find, as we were staying in a hotel close by, the restaurant is very clean, staff very attentive but the food is amazing, if your local or costing the area it well worth a visit.
Very good service and food was very tasty. Very vibrant atmosphere
Food always good, the visits we have had, decor very dated, waiters qiute miserable, shame that, and menus sticky.
My favourite place for Indian food. Always wonderful and delicious.
Lovely tasty meal and good service. We were seated quickly and the food arrived piping hot and was delicious. A very enjoyable evening.
When we got to the restaurant we were told we didn't have a booking and had to wait for a table.
The name is ahead of the total experience. Service is too casual and dishes are overly priced compared the taste and amount.
Lovely food and excellent service. Would recommend definitely to curry lovers.
Lovely food, very friendly staff and lots of choice in the menu. Very good location within Stratford. Enjoyed our meal there: good value and nice atmosphere. Thank you!
Good selection of dishes, friendly attentive but not intrusive staff. Food was well presented with good presentation and we'll spiced. All pallets were accommodated for, easy to highly recommend.
Had to wait far too long to get our food yet they couldn't serve us the bill quick enough
Recently visited the Thepian restaurant in Stratford. Very good service and fantastic food. Found it reasonably priced as well. Definitely recommend
We have visited this Restaurant on many occasions, being local but this experience will not be one that will be repeated, we arrived and were seated at our table, the table next to us had a family on it and the children were playing with a child's iPad equivalent they had the volume turned up and the nouse was very intrusive, we asked to be moved, which they did and the table was asked to turn down the volume, we could still hear the noise and the Restaurant refused to ask them to turn it down further, so we left and will not be going back, I understand that children need to be kept occupied but this level of noise was not acceptable, after all it is a Restaurent and not a fast food chain where things like that happen all the time.
