About

Tierra Kitchen is all about the quality of the food. We feel our vegetarian dishes are packed with flavour, while being innovative, healthy and delicious. Tierra Kitchen celebrates an A1 location in the heart of Lyme Regis cultural quarter, alongside Town Mill Bakery and the Old Mill.

The restaurant has a warm, airy feel inside, while outside there is a sunny streamside terrace. It is comfortable, relaxed and unassuming with friendly and efficient service. Brunch/lunch means freshly prepared, flavour-packed dishes, great coffee, juices and 100% homemade cakes and pastries. Dinner means a weekly changing menu, original dishes and twists on classics, with a Spanish, French and North African influence. You can also enjoy the menu by sampling a range of tapas style or smaller dishes. These are complemented by a carefully chosen wine list.

The only downside was that around 80% of the menu had nuts, including all of the main courses. Even veggies have nut intolerance or allergies! The staff were flexible but it was a shame that no 'proper' main was available, instead we mixed and matched from the sides anf part of the main

Tierra kitchen is our favorite restaurant in the UK by far. Every time we eat there it's the best food we've ever had. Creative, totally delicious, locally sourced and healthy. Def recommended for anyone, veggie, vegan or not.

The appetizer, starter and main course was too similar - akin to stuffing balls. I had notified the kitchen that i am vegan and am allergic to mushrooms and I was still limited to one choice which was a little disappointing. We felt we were rushed and asked the waiter several times not to bring the courses out straight after each other. The choc, plum and walnut pud was scrumptious.

We were a fussy party consisting of two coaliacs, a vegan and a person with a nut allergy. The restaurant manager was very knowledgeable with these conditions and offered us alternative toppings etc for the various dishes, he even offered us gluten free bread.
It really was a wonderful dining experience as we all felt confident that the delicious imaginitve food was fine for us.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, vegetarian or not.

We went to Tierra as part of our minimoon. Neither of us are vegetarian but we loved our 3 course set menu. The only thing was the portions were a little large, especially starters so we had to leave some! Vegan trifle isn't quite to expectations but Vegan pannacotta was delicious

Food was well presented but little bland.

The meal was marred by a complete lack of ambience in the restaurant not helped by the fact that they started to sweep the restaurant floor before we left.

Also when we got back all out clothes literally stank of cooking so I presume the kitchen extractors aren't working properly

Bizaare !

Can't rate this restaurant highly enough....the food is genius, not only delicious, but creative, unusual and beautiful. As an extra bonus it is vegetarian too. The chef is amazingly talented - can honestly say it's one of the best meals we've had which will linger long in the memory!

Forget Hix on the waterfront seafood oyster bar thing....there is a new super star in Lyme Regis...

Why is this Chef not a national treasure or a tv Super Star Chef?!!!

Quite simply, Lyme Regis' hidden gem and i assume thats how Mark likes it.

Went with my father who has been a vegie since the bronze age, his lovley wife ( a carnivore) and me a chef for close to 20 years.

We ordered one of each starter, main & desert, then bought the book(only£10...) Mark was kind enough to sign it then come out and talk to us.

Loved every bite, the food was interesting and fun, the bread was stunning, the brownie was stunning, the service was relaxed ( no waiter coming over mid-mouth full to ask how everything is...) The flavors were clever in that eating boring food is just that boring and lets be honest, we look at the vegie options on most menus and more often than not dismiss them or we see the same things repeated ( think mushroom risotto, poached egg, truffle oil). To put enough interesting things on a plate and keep it simple yet tasty is a wonderful skill to possess , to do this with NO meat or fish requires skill and talent and this is what is achieved very well here....

Will be there again soon, will get another copy of the book, well done all , you deserve every success that comes your way .

Overall the meal was good, although we were both a bit disappointed that the menu was different to that advertised on the website. The Morrocan soup was the only part of the meal that didn't meet our expectations, the dumplings were lovely, but the soup was very bland and uninspiring. The main was good and the pudding was excellent. It is expensive for the portion sizes, but the food is consistently good.

The food was good but the menu had little choice and we felt uncomfortable as the menu seemed to be forcing us to spend a minimum of £20 as there were no individual prices listed, only '2 meals for £20' and '3 meals for.. (another set price). As poor students, we couldn't all afford this and felt uncomfortable simply ordering one meal. Furthermore, we didn't know the price of the one main meal as it didn't say! The food was very nice but way too pricey for what it was and it took about 45 minutes or longer to arrive despite it being only a tiny restaurant which wasn't even full up. The service was friendly but very unattentitive, for example we had to wait about 20 Minutes for the card machine to be brought over after having finished our desserts. They just stood around talking instead of seeing to us! Lovely food but that's about the only good thing about the experience! I wouldn't recommend it.

Great vegetarian restaurant good service, being able to choose any item on the menu as a vegetarian . Food came quickly and was very tasty, the menu description appeared on the plate. Would go back any time. Only criticism is that the lunch menu is a bit more obvious than the evening choices. Two separate menus in fact.

One of the best meals out I can remember. Every course was so creative, using local seasonal produce and creating an extravaganza of flavour. The dark chocolate delice with plum sorbet was out of this world. The chef/owner came out of the kitchen to talk to guests and seemed genuinely interested in their experience. I only wish I lived locally so I could go again. The ambience and the food are just perfect
