We had travelled from Norfolk and friends had travelled from Cornwall to meet for 2 days and decided that we would like to have a meal out away from the hotel. We couldn't have chosen a better dining venue that TIIEN the staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent and we all had different meals but each of us was praising what we were eating. We go to Bournemouth twice a year and will visit TIIEN again.
We visited Bournemouth for the weekend and didn’t know what to expect from this restaurant, however it was superb.
The food, staff and music were exceptional,
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Bournemouth and very good value for money.
Amazing experience. Decided to choose this restaurant for my partners birthday, tasty, well cooked and quality food, excellent customer service, good quality price. Will definitely return
Lovely people and great food. Lively feel to the restaurant, but we were pretty disappointed that we were almost being rushed out by 10.15pm on Saturday night. We'd had a lovely time and the staff were very attentive, but after they asked to clear the table about 5 times before we'd finished eating, we thought we'd better just call it a day.
We had tasty, not outstanding meals, but the rice portion was a bit meagre for sharing. The surroundings and service were very pleasant and refined. Parking is a nightmare.
Extremely good food, well decorated and presented. Authentic Thai
Amazing food and staff ! We had a great evening and will definitely go back.
We ate at the Tiien for the first time this week and we have already booked to go again and recommended to family. Great food, good value, lovely staff - try the Tamarind Duck: lovely dish.
Food was good, good level of service by friendly staff who were not too intrusive.
Really disappointed with our trip to Tiien this weekend. We arrived at 7.30pm and were seated and offered drinks right away, but the drinks didn’t arrive for 20 mins, and my pina colada was basically just pineapple juice, I only chose this drink as in the past it’s been delicious here. Our starters took almost an hour to come! We couldn’t flag down a waiter and finally After 50 mins someone came and asked what we had ordered, and then said yes it’s on it’s way, they gave us crackers and didn’t offer us drinks or anything. We got our starters and then waited another 25mins for mains. In the meantime they topped up our water glasses. The main course came out and the chicken in pad Thai was very dry, and the lamb in the massaman curry was really chewy. The whole experience was really disappointing. We don’t go out for dinner too often due financial constraints, and we had actually made a reservation elsewhere but cancelled and swapped last minute as thought TIIEN would be nicer. It was so hard to get attention of the staff, and even after it took so long to get the food no one checked it was ok. There was also a large group of noisy men who I assume where on a stag do which ruined the atmosphere. Real shame!
We like the atmosphere and food but we have always thought it is too expensive. Two of us had the Thai fish cakes to start and both thought they were rubbery and horrible. We didn’t complain because we were entertaining friends who just arrived from Canada.
Every time we go to Bournemouth we visit this restaurant . The food is delicious as always but be prepared to sit at your table awaiting your courses .. we have been there 3 times since 2 Nd week August and have waited for our starters up to 1 hour and the same with the main courses . It’s always so busy and the noise level is quite high but we know this and still go to eat there
This restaurant has the most incredibly delicious prawn Dimsum's I have EVER tasted. The table layout for seating is spacious and the service is excellent. Very well priced yummy food.
very busy - but plenty of attentive staff.
good food quality, perhaps a little rushed.
We had an excellent time at Tiien. The welcome was friendly and professional, the food was first class as was the service throughout.
Everything was delicious, authentic and lovely atmosphere and staff very friendly. Definitely coming back next time we're in Bournemouth X
Lovely food as always but this time it was pretty busy with lots of takeaways being carried through the restaurant and a little wait for our main meals. The restaurant can get very noisy with large groups there.
Great food great staff lovely time had by all
Food was great and the service was good too, we were asked many times if we needed anything. Very reasonably priced and the ambiance was great.
Great food, great service! Will definitely go back!
Superb! Really enjoyed the decor and the service was really good. The food was exceptional and divine! Thank you so much Tiien Thai.
Lovely meal with fantastic service. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Really good Pad Thai.
Since our trip to Thailand, we have been in love with Pad Thai and so we use this as a reference to judging Thai restaurants. We were not disappointed! The dish was so tasty and fresh, I really wish we lived closer, so we could try more dishes.
I would like to see more fish options on the menu. We had some amazing fish in Thailand and we only seem to find sea-bass dishes here in the UK, which taste good but don't quite match what we ate there.
Look forward to visiting again.
Delicious food, lovely setting.
Service was great- friendly and attentive without being intrusive or over familiar.
They also included some thoughtful extra touches to make our special occasion feel even more so.
Price is not cheap but is reasonable for the quality of food, surroundings and service.
Have visited twice. Would go again and would recommend to a friend.
Was ok but
Our recommendation would only be if the issues we raised are attended to. Our report is on trip adviser
Nice food , great service. Really pleasant evening.
could not fault the food we received and would happily there again
The restaurant was closed due to a gas leak but continued to take bookings
We went with five people and loved our food and the service. The restaurant is large and was packed on a Saturday night so booking is recommended. The atmosphere is friendly and I’d recommend it!
Very good except there was a bithday this day and the service was too long.
The food was delicious and very fresh. It arrived in perfect time and the portion sizes were just right. Two of our party are vegetarians and with so many veggie options it was great.
The restaurant is spotlessly clean and has a nice atmosphere.
The staff were all lovely and it was the perfect meal on last night of our holiday in Bournemouth.
I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit next time we are in area.
We have dined here on several occasions when visiting Bournemouth for a long weekend and as usual it did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the staff are very hospitable. Will definitely book again on our next trip to Bournemouth
The restaurant was chosen because of two reasons:
Location and style of food
On arrival, was a bit dubious and had a gut feeling that it wasn't going to be good.
The restaurant is looking tired and needs a revamp.
We chose a set menu and a kids menu for our granddaughter who is 5. She chose sweetcorn cakes and chicken nuggets and chips for £10. The sweetcorn cakes, she didn't like so she had some of the aromatic duck and pancakes from our starter. My husband had the cakes which were tasteless.
Next came our soup which can only be described as sour water with lemon grass and herbs with a few mushrooms floating in it. Vile. The soup was sent back and we wanted to replace with spring rolls. Not possible, we were offered a discount. In the meantime, our granddaughter's main arrived. Big pile of chips and frozen chicken nuggets. At this stage I decided enough was enough and cancelled the rest of the meal. At £25.50 per head definitely not worth it. We paid for three drinks, glass of wine, beer and apple juice, the duck and £10 kids meal , the main course was not eaten. £24 not value for money.
Really excellent from the moment we walked through the door.
Very enjoyable. Great variety on the menu including plenty of vegetarian options. Great cocktails too!
On arriving welcomed. Given glass of water each. Would have preferred a jug of water with ice and lemon and lime. Not long enough to chat while deciding. A bit rushed. For hot but cold plates. Had set meal Aldermaston as my friend wanted to try a mixture of flavours but did not know what to choose. Then it got very busy and noise echoed. But all in all quite a nice 2 hours
Nice place, excellent food, pleasant atmosphere 🍜😊 A place worth coming back 🤗 Recommended for vegetarians
Wasn’t sure where to go, then remembered walking past Tiien Thai. Booked easily on line for the time I wanted. Greeted very politely and given a choice of table. Service was great, very friendly and the food was top class, well presented and extremely tasty. Will be going back soon.
Excellent food. Loved the Chilli Lamb chef's special
