Food was so expensive for what we got and drinks were overpriced as well as having to wait an extra 20 minutes for our table

I checked before going that there were tables and there were. I walk the 9 minutes from where I was to be told there were no tables and they weren't receiving walk ins. I said ' so I literally have to walk outside to book as I know there are bookings available'. S I was told o could try. I went back to the door where I booked a table out of the many available (although it said outside was full which was fine as we wanted indoors anyway). I walked back and tild the same unwelcoming lady that our table was now booked to which she informed me was for outside. My friend told her that when we booked it said outside was full. The unhelpful lady them argued with us that's what we booked. My friend who is unwell at the moment then got upset and added that changes in temperature are affecting her mobility and she cannot sit outside in the heat..we had been in the library working and this was one of the closest places to go. The portions weren't very big and we were informed if we ordered the express lunch the portions would have been smaller. My friend and I both have over ten years of customer service experience and this was awful. Never felt as if my custom wasn't wanted so much ever. I had recommended to my friend as the chilli chicken jam was one of my favourite dishes in Glasgow. It was a little spicy this time round but still flavoursome.

Extremely aggressive doorman, grabbed one of our parties arms when leaving, during covid times especially not acceptable.

Very poor service and terrible ambience inside. Wait staff were nowhere to be found and host ignored us on two separate occasions. We ended up leaving after one drink and asked 4 times for water and never got any

Bit oppressive. Dark and settling. Food was the best part. Ambience not for us. Too dark and menacing. Had a coffin against the wall. Not appropriate.

Didn't like the plastic cups, had been to other venues before and after tiki bar both didn't use plastic cups. Felt rushed out the door, we were advised 30 mins before our booking finished that we had to leave. Was left disappointed after such a long time of not being out.

We were looking forward very much to our post lockdown visit. Unfortunately things were definitely not the same.
When we booked online it was not made clear that seating was only in the dark bar area or outside. There was no mention that the restaurant upstairs was closed.
When our server asked what drinks we wanted we asked for sparkling water to which we were told that only soda water was available. No problems there. Next I asked for an americano. Our server said that she would need to see if they could do that which was surprising, it was even more surprising when I overheard the same person complain to one of her colleagues "why couldn't he just ask for a black coffee"? Not professional.
The servers then stood about chatting without taking our order for 15 minutes. Eventually our server returned. We ordered our food and asked if it was possible to have some Thai crackers....we were advised that she was not sure if this was possible as the restaurant is closed which was a very confusing message as we had booked lunch. Luckily she was able to source some which we were very grateful for.
The food was ok. Chicken satay and prawn tempura were great. Thai red chicken curry great. The beef masaman was not so great, the beef was not slow cooked or succulent as advertised.
We were entertained with more complaining about another guest who was sitting outside.
Sadly we won't be back which is a great shame as this used to be at the top of our list.

Refused entry claimed we were “too drunk” when it was the first place we had to went to the full night. Staff was rude not sure if I would come again to get spoken to the way me and my party did.

Starter and main served at the same time after only ordering 5 minutes before-
Arrived at restaurant at 7:05 and had finished our meal and had the bill before 7:40…
Expensive drinks at £9 for a cocktial which was mostly ice served in a plastic cup.
The food was mostly liquid with a very small amount of meat and
The atmosphere in the bar was very good.

It was slow to get seated to start with as we had to wait a while on the host seating us but they did apologize more than once and when seated table service was great, we asked to move outside when we arrived, no tables where available but when they were the host took us straight out which I was happy with as it was super cute! Overall enjoyed my experience, drinks were good and would be back. Should definitely create an app though instead of table service!

On arrival we had been told that we 'filled in the booking incorrectly' as we only wanted drinks but had apparently booked a table for food. The girl on the door was abrupt and slightly patronising but was able to get us a table inside, there was no option i could see online when booking the table for just drinks. Staff were standing round in groups and we had waited a good while before being asked what we wanted to drink. Drinks were heavily made up of ice which was not great value for money.

Overall the place is nice and the 70s design was fun and interesting. Our server was really good and knew his stuff. The food was nice enough but for the main there was little of the tofu that the Vegan dish said it would have, for that price we expected a lot more.

While on the subject of Vegan / Veggie options; two starters and one main to "choose" from? I would suggest a couple of other dishes to add more variety, and as more people are either vegan, or sometimes just prefer a vegan dish to eat, I don't think having 2 - 3 additional mains would be a lot to ask for.

Having said that I enjoyed what I had - just wish there was more of it

Main issue was not enough staff on it took is almost 40 minutes before someone came to take our order which is particularly long when you only get a 2 hour time slot and subsequent orders also took a long time. The Thai green and Thai red Curries were excellent though the honey ribs were more fat than meat which was disappointing. It didn't seem particularly busy but I think the service timing problem was more due to a lack of staff. Would definitely go back for the food, just hope they have more people on next time.

It’s a sad thing to rate this restaurant so low. It’s decor is spot on but after that the experience goes downhill. First, you are washed over by music popular to the 16-22 year old crowd; no Elvis, no Ramones, nothing remotely tiki or retro. Next, the drinks have the potency of a minnow when they should have the fierceness of a shark; they are fruit juice shaken with ice and not much better. Then, the food arrives, which wile decent was fried in old oil. Finally, the tiki bar was all out of tiki mugs on an early Friday evening.

Almost all of these issue can be tracked likely to a GM I suspect. After all, who chooses the music, would demand weak drinks, forget to order mugs, and stand for that kind of food quality. Maybe a lot of these things are designed to appeal to a young crowd who just wants a pub that looks different.

The sad thing is that given the menu and decor, the owners had the right ideas.
