Ting Lounge, Shangri-La At The Shard
Great views, great atmosphere, food and service. A place to return to
Lovely ambience, good service but food is pretty substandard - very little flavour to my pad Thai or green Thai curry. Shame! Would not eat there again
Enjoyed a delicious lunch from the oriental menu. Service as usual was impeccable. The vegetable side dish was on the small side but very well cooked, could have eaten an extra portion it was so good.
Although the food taste and presentation was excellent - the Ginger and Chilli presented with the Hainanese Chicken rice was totally incorrect, both ginger and chilli were presented within the same dish flooded with fish oil - this is incorrect. Chilli and ginger are presented within separated sections of a serving dish without any fish oil - please review presentation for the next serving.
Very nice ambiance. I went here at 8pm, knowing we only had a two hour slot time however the service wasn’t the fastest so this would make it hard to have a three course meal within the two hours. However as it was reaching 9:30pm, the lounge started to get less busy and we ended up staying for three hours in total, I guess because it wasn’t a busy time. The staff were very friendly and originally gave us a table in the middle with my back facing the window (so I wasn’t able to see the view) but I noticed there was a table free right by the window and I asked to switch to that table and they accommodated this very quick and without hassle or fuss. It’s a nice atmosphere and isn’t loud. The food was very nice; I ordered Malaysian fried rice and beef in black bean sauce - the beef fillet was so tender it was delicious. Cocktails that aren’t on the menu were made upon request. I would recommend going here. The food is pricey but not too outrageous, however it is worth it for the view, ambiance and food. I would recommend.
Excellent service and food, sweets not quite as good as my last visit. But I will be back many times.
Beautiful evening, lovely views, great food. Throughly enjoyed it.
we appreciated flexibility with choice of table and were disappointed by waiting cca 30 mins for removing used plates after main course and for asking whether we wanted a desert/coffee...we felt being forgotten
A tricky review. Venue is great and décor spot on. Ambience slightly disrupted by the in-house photo shoot taking place, but that's a one off.
Superb service and that means a lot to us. We went for a booking in the lounge and I'd pick this over the restaurant any day. Formal enough … but very cozy.
But the food let it down. I had the hot and sour soup to start and it was stunning, but my partner mentioned his was a little "so so" - it was the wanton soup.
For mains we both had the green curry (one veggie, one chicken) and there is no other word for it but bland. It was really fresh but that was all that was going for it. You can get away with very very subtle flavours for a curry but only when the ingredient quality is off the chart and these were not. I had to add salt to enjoy it.
I had the vegan mouse to finish and it was ok. Perfectly presented but nothing I'd rush back for which sums up the whole meal.
Considering the reputation proceeding Ting, I thought my friends and I were in for a particularly memorable evening atop the shard. Memorable though it was, enjoyable it was not.
To put it frankly, we were treated like riff raff. Bartenders told us they weren’t serving only to serve 6 others in our place. Guests seated after us were being served 3 x more quickly and before us despite our order being placed first. The “White Russians” we were served could better be described as “Russian paint stripper - kahlua free”.
Though my scathing castigation directed at the manager “Marmalade” provided momentary amusement, the overall experience could be described in one word: shunned.
Management consultancy is something I normally charge for. I render my services here free of charge as a charitable donation to the general public, in the hope that I may help people avoid the snooty, pretentious, wannabe Duck and Waffle that is Ting Lounge.
Made the booking 3 days ago, requested a window table but did not get one, eventhough it says first some first serves we were there early and waiting for drinks and food one table actually got cleared, we ask for it but they did not want to give it.
The food is pretty average, the staff and service is very good.
If you don't get guarantee window table not worth it if you are after view.
Great food, really tasty but the service was awful, had to ask three or four times for everything, not what you expect paying those prices.
It was an outstanding evening, my fiancee and i were so well impressed because it was all spotless.
The food was good. But the service was slow. We had to wait 20-25 minutes for our first drink to arrive. Was overcharged for water.
excellent meal and service. had a great time but slightly more expensive than we were expecting.
Not only is the view breathtaking but everything about this restaurant should be recognised. The food, atmosphere, the service and the feeling of being special no matter what your reason was to have your meal there. Ours was celebrating our anniversary and we were looked after well by the members of staff that evening.
Comedy of errors and definitely a poor experience.
Wine did not arrive until mid meal. No apology, only a “bottle wasn’t ready” when inquired.
Bill arrived without being asked for and we were well within the 2 hour limit for the table.
Charged for the incorrect wine. Upon flagging this, told rather aggressively “we can waive the service charge but that is the wine you ordered”. At this point I hadn’t brought up the service charge.
Upon being proven wrong about the wine fixed the bill and offered complimentary tea but by then it was too late.
Waiters need a lot of training - should learn to disagree with the customer respectfully if they need to.
Brief: All beyond excellence. Highly recommend even with limited budget, you'll figure out an adequate way to appreciate the view.
Great and attentive staff. Amazing view. Good but not memorable food. Price according to the place.
Birthday treat for wife was an amazing place. Enjoy
Perfect! One of my favourite locations in London for a lovely dinner, always giving the finest experience. Would recommend!!
Very attentive service and great food. The ambiance is relaxed with comfortable seating and great panoramic views of the city. Perfect for a birthday dinner.
The ambience and view was excellent. Service was flawless. The food could do a little better.
Staff were lovely and very friendly, views were great. Wonderful place for cocktails
We celebrated our anniversary at the Ting Lounge, Shangri-La hotel and had a truly wonderful evening. The staff were very attentive and made our evening all the most special with a couple of little extras. I'd definitely go back again and would recommend it!
The restaurant and food are amazing! Service impeccable.
Service was excellent
However various other parts were disappointing
No children’s menu
Or not offered
My kids are quite adventurous with their food choices
However even for them the menu was restrictive and costly
The cost was not clear and lots! Of addd ons at the end
Very overpricedfood not in my top ten Asian food for quality but most expensive for the view only
The kids really enjoyed being at dinner with us and the set up was lovely for a special birthday too
Amazing views with Amazing Food!
Very warn welcome from ground floor to 35th!
Excellent food, well spiced.
And fantastic view
BEAUTIFUL PLACE, IMPECCABLE SERVICE, FAIR PRICE, THANKS TO ANTONIO FOR THE KINDNESS AND AVAILABILITY! I’LL BACK FOR SURE!
Upmarket enjoyable venue at height so affording splendid, panoramic London city views.
Service was fine except when we went there the first time I explained to the host at the entrance that we just wanted to end our evening with coffee and desert. She said she could not oblige and they there were full, which they clearly weren't when I looked. I had phoned earlier in the day and spoke to the Ting front desk who said that it won't be an issue considering we were coming at 9. Anyway made reservation with Opentable for 15 min later on my mobile. Received Confirmation. Showed to Front desk and went in.. Not sure what that lady's issue was. The person who seated us was different to the person I spoke to earlier
We ended up just having drinks here for a birthday celebration. The staff couldn't have done a better job of making us feel welcome - top notch service. Amazing views, especially the one from the loo, which have us quite a surprise!
Very cosy and spacious, with a breth-taking view. You can enjoy your privacy and be sure that nobody hears your conversations although you are surrounded by other people. No noise although a lively place. Service was great and I liked the food. They have a great selection of spirits as for me. Enjoyed a lot being there! Great place for a great occasion :)
No better place to eat in London. 35 floors up the Shard, sitting room type ambience, staff incredibly friendly and yet discrete, menu great. £75 per head but worth it.
The staff was extremely friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. I would love to visit again and highly recommend the place.
Waited 1 hour 45 mins for a starter to arrive. Our food order was lost and given to the kitchen
She vice was outstanding and we loved them Asian cuisine! Top stars from us ***
