Ting Lounge, Shangri-La At The Shard
Looks likes Short of staff, waiting long time to be served. Even pay the bills has to call 3times !!!!!!!!!!!also food is too salt ,changed a lot ,I used to like
Come here 3times /week ! But do not thinks come again
Great view. Wouldnt return for the food or service.
Top class dining experience - amazing view, delicious Southeast Asian cuisine, and excellent service (Spyros). Already my 3rd time here, it just get better!
Aun was attentive and an excellent waiter. he asked questions and was super helpful. and he has a spectacular moustache
Relaxing atmosphere, great view over London, excellent food and service.
The location is amazing 😉, the waiter Valeriu it was very friendly and paid a lot attention to detail ( the glass was never empty ). The food was good, the desert amazing.
We had a good time, we highly recommend it .
I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. I had the burger and it tasted, and looked liked it had come from a supermarket freezer. It wasn't fresh, and despite ordering it to be cooked 'medium rare' it looked exactly like my friends well done one. The bun was stale, the cheese tasted like plastic, and the chips were cold. It's not a tricky dish to get right, and this is suppose to be five star dining.
Saying that the donut dessert was delightful. A unique option which was extremely tasty.
I chose not to complain on the day because I was meeting with a group of friends I hadn't seen in years, and didn't want to spoil the mood. The meal was also my treat to them as I was using my Shangri-La points to pay for it.
Food is good. Tea is amazing. The staffs are extremely helpful and kind. The price is not very expensive compared its view and service.
Awesome location and views. Fair prices for drinks and food. Value kids menu.
Brought guests to experience the ambience! Was great but I believe there are less staff now. But was an amazing service as always
I had my birthday lunch at ting lounge. We had a fantaatic time. We were given a table with amazing views. The service was great too. The guy named Callum was superb he was nice to my 7 year old daughter. The food was excellent and the prices are reasonable. I will rwcommend thia place to my froenda and family.
Very accomodating personel and we had a graat time , good food and Nice ambiance
Fantastic view as always. The food is overpriced but it’s for the view. The service was slow and our waiter seemed to struggle. The other waiter who brought us wine was absolutely lovely - made one of my guests feel very welcome as they are both from Turkey.
Got off to a bad start, but 10/10 after that.
A treat for my wife on her "special" birthday, purchased through Virgin Experience Days some 7 months earlier. Included a View from the Shard experience too. Followed (what I thought were the correct instructions) in order to activate and book both parts of the trip, confirmation received etc. All good.
Arrived at Ting at the correct time, spoke to the woman on reception to give my name. Confirmed. "OK, follow me”. Sat down and were handed some menus. Looked at the prices and thought to question if we were in the right place. Lovely menu, but some serious prices.
I called over a waiter and handed him my printed reservation and the Virgin paperwork and asked him to double check that we had been given the correct menu. He took it away and it was about 5-6 minutes later that the woman we first encountered on reception came over to say that we had booked the meal incorrectly and that we should have booked via Virgin, but I had booked directly. I told her that as far as I can remember, there was only one way to make the booking which I had followed.
The woman repeated that I had not booked correctly and started at me!
OK, so what happens now . . .I asked, as she said nothing else. She re-iterated that I needed to make a booking via Virgin and said no more. I asked if we could eat today (obviously, it was a special day and we were now engaged in this conversation for 15 minutes, being stared at by the other clientele and . . . were hungry). We were told that we needed to make a reservation with the "other restaurant"! Silence. I asked if SHE was going to sort this out for me, or did I need to get my phone out and start ringing people up, or booking via their website? The woman disappeared and after another 5 minutes came back and said they have a table and we were escorted about 20 feet away and handed different menus!! All very much to the amusement of those around us. She could have sorted before coming to see us??????
Very nice service and high standards. Also high prices but that I to be expected. I was at the restaurant with my two teenage boys. We had a very pleasant evening and felt very very velcome. The view is spectacular.
My favorite place to entertain people. Although I did like the Restaurant, I prefer more caual Lounge foods. I never fail to impress friends/family and even business clients with Ting Lounge! I can't wait to go back there before too long!
Loved it , had complimentary drinks as it was a birthday & also the food was very nice and easily filling ! The staff were absolutely polite and helpful would definitely recommend and be returning.
Excellent food and service will be definitely be using this restrauant again
Food was fantastic. It was a beautiful day making the view one of the best.
However, there was some sort of karaoke or singer downstairs that echoed through out the whole restaurant and lounge area. Headache inducing. The nice light music that was on last time we dined with ting was much better. Also, when someone is wearing black pants, it’s standard practice to get them a black napkin so that the white linen does not get all over their pants. Or, provide a lint roller in the toilet. I was not happy to walk around with white specs of lint all over my pants.
Everything was perfect! Peter, our waiter and the others provided us with “on point” customer service. 😊
Outstanding service, views, food and atmosphere. This was our 4th time visiting and won't be our last.
Very nice views and cozy ambience. Sommelier was very clear and chose wine for us exactly what we wanted
Absolutely amazing wonderful thank you so so much
Great views, great atmosphere, food and service. A place to return to
Lovely ambience, good service but food is pretty substandard - very little flavour to my pad Thai or green Thai curry. Shame! Would not eat there again
Enjoyed a delicious lunch from the oriental menu. Service as usual was impeccable. The vegetable side dish was on the small side but very well cooked, could have eaten an extra portion it was so good.
Although the food taste and presentation was excellent - the Ginger and Chilli presented with the Hainanese Chicken rice was totally incorrect, both ginger and chilli were presented within the same dish flooded with fish oil - this is incorrect. Chilli and ginger are presented within separated sections of a serving dish without any fish oil - please review presentation for the next serving.
Very nice ambiance. I went here at 8pm, knowing we only had a two hour slot time however the service wasn’t the fastest so this would make it hard to have a three course meal within the two hours. However as it was reaching 9:30pm, the lounge started to get less busy and we ended up staying for three hours in total, I guess because it wasn’t a busy time. The staff were very friendly and originally gave us a table in the middle with my back facing the window (so I wasn’t able to see the view) but I noticed there was a table free right by the window and I asked to switch to that table and they accommodated this very quick and without hassle or fuss. It’s a nice atmosphere and isn’t loud. The food was very nice; I ordered Malaysian fried rice and beef in black bean sauce - the beef fillet was so tender it was delicious. Cocktails that aren’t on the menu were made upon request. I would recommend going here. The food is pricey but not too outrageous, however it is worth it for the view, ambiance and food. I would recommend.
Excellent service and food, sweets not quite as good as my last visit. But I will be back many times.
Beautiful evening, lovely views, great food. Throughly enjoyed it.
we appreciated flexibility with choice of table and were disappointed by waiting cca 30 mins for removing used plates after main course and for asking whether we wanted a desert/coffee...we felt being forgotten
A tricky review. Venue is great and décor spot on. Ambience slightly disrupted by the in-house photo shoot taking place, but that's a one off.
Superb service and that means a lot to us. We went for a booking in the lounge and I'd pick this over the restaurant any day. Formal enough … but very cozy.
But the food let it down. I had the hot and sour soup to start and it was stunning, but my partner mentioned his was a little "so so" - it was the wanton soup.
For mains we both had the green curry (one veggie, one chicken) and there is no other word for it but bland. It was really fresh but that was all that was going for it. You can get away with very very subtle flavours for a curry but only when the ingredient quality is off the chart and these were not. I had to add salt to enjoy it.
I had the vegan mouse to finish and it was ok. Perfectly presented but nothing I'd rush back for which sums up the whole meal.
Considering the reputation proceeding Ting, I thought my friends and I were in for a particularly memorable evening atop the shard. Memorable though it was, enjoyable it was not.
To put it frankly, we were treated like riff raff. Bartenders told us they weren’t serving only to serve 6 others in our place. Guests seated after us were being served 3 x more quickly and before us despite our order being placed first. The “White Russians” we were served could better be described as “Russian paint stripper - kahlua free”.
Though my scathing castigation directed at the manager “Marmalade” provided momentary amusement, the overall experience could be described in one word: shunned.
Management consultancy is something I normally charge for. I render my services here free of charge as a charitable donation to the general public, in the hope that I may help people avoid the snooty, pretentious, wannabe Duck and Waffle that is Ting Lounge.
Made the booking 3 days ago, requested a window table but did not get one, eventhough it says first some first serves we were there early and waiting for drinks and food one table actually got cleared, we ask for it but they did not want to give it.
The food is pretty average, the staff and service is very good.
If you don't get guarantee window table not worth it if you are after view.
Great food, really tasty but the service was awful, had to ask three or four times for everything, not what you expect paying those prices.
It was an outstanding evening, my fiancee and i were so well impressed because it was all spotless.
The food was good. But the service was slow. We had to wait 20-25 minutes for our first drink to arrive. Was overcharged for water.
excellent meal and service. had a great time but slightly more expensive than we were expecting.
