We were served by Aun. He was excellent. We looked west from our window seat, this gave excellent views of Canary Wharf and the moon rising. We went for the 5 course tasting menu, food was very good and pace of food coming out was good. A great experience had at the Shard.

We booked the Ting restaurant for our anniversary, upon arrival I was told that the kitchen was closing in 10/15 mins. I felt very uncomfortable by ordering dinner, so instead we ordered drinks and dessert.

When we sat down I wasn’t happy with my seating and requested to be moved to another table, I had to ask 3/4 before someone moved me.

They got my order wrong and had to wait,

Overall I would not recommend nor go again

Service was excellent and food was amazing. Veiw was perfect was lucky enough to have a window seat. As it was my wife's birthday they even gave us a couple of brownies and jellys with a birthday day message. The waitresses and waiters where very polite and was never left to wait for food or a drink. Would highly recommend. We have the 3 course dinner.

We went for a special occasion and turned up on time. We were made to wait 15 minutes until we were seated. Online there was a 3 course menu featuring fish etc. We were shown a pure vegetarian menu and told unless we went a la carte that was all that was available. The starters took 45 minutes to arrive. My soup was just luke warm. I asked if it should be cold or hot and was told hot!! I was offered a drink as an apology. The mains took another 50 minutes.. mine was completely cold. The server apologised but said to change it would be a long wait. We asked to speak to a manager who eventually arrived and we explained all the issues. He apologised and offered desserts.
The table was stained and chipped, the floor had food on it and the restrooms needed cleaning. When walking past the open kitchen to the restroom staff were shouting at each other.
This was a totally disappointing lunch and was not suitable for any visit and especially not a special occasion.
The small gestures made were insufficient for 2 cold items and slow service.
Even when we left they could not locate our umbrella at first and we were kept waiting.
The windows were also filthy which detracts from the view.

When we sat down we were given small tasting menus (which I hadn’t asked for) and I was told ‘That is what you booked’. No I did not!
Eventually the menus were changed and then the Sommelier came over to serve Champagne to go with the tasting menu we had sent back. Two of us don’t drink alcohol so more confusion reigned.
The starters were ok but they brought the bread out as we were finishing them. The seaweed butter was way too salty and masked the flavour of the bread
Long wait for mains...
The main courses were tiny with no vegetable garnish to speak of or options to add. The chicken was dry and overcooked and only half a breast (what is this obsession with cutting the protein to virtually a child’s portion?). The halibut was over seasoned and over cooked and came with a jug of sauce that contained about a teaspoon of liquid.
The chef needs to learn and demonstrate a proper balance of protein, starch and vegetable. The mains were way off good value for money and to overcook the protein is unforgivable.
We were not offered any other drinks throughout the entire service so we just had water
The puddings were average (after waiting 30 minutes for them).
I had told Ting that this was a birthday lunch and they didn’t even mention it let alone even pipe ‘Happy Birthday’ on a plate.
Couldn’t face coffee so I just got the bill. At £70 per head A la carte it feels like a rip-off!
I have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants for cheaper with food that was twice the quality of Ting

The view doesn’t make up for poor service and sub standard food

Really disappointed by the food, it came out cold and when I returned it to be heated it still wasn't satisfactory. I did not feel that it was good value for money at all. I was let down as this was my first Shard Experience and I expected more. The staff were very welcoming and I was happy to pay the gratuity for that reason however the food was not at all adequate and I feel robbed.

Had the Ting breakfast costing £34 each however, the variety of items was really less and not much catered for people looking for halal options. We were booked for 10:15am and the buffet breakfast closed at 11:00 which I was unaware of until on the day just 10mins before closing and not notified during my booking or when I called in to confirm my booking. Also not only that when we were told the breakfast will close in 10mins we went to get coffee and other items but the coffee machine was turned off.
Went for our 17th wedding anniversary and my husbands birthday but felt that I was unable to give him the special feeling and treatment when there was less variety of food and the closing time for buffet breakfast was just not convinient for our special day.

We have come to the restaurant a few times and had invited guests who were visiting from Australia and celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

On this occasion, while the service at the reception was excellent, the service at the dinner table was poor. I had to ask three times for the wine to be brought to the table; it arrived towards the end of the first course and the glasses were not topped up during the meal. It also took a long time between courses and to get the bill.

Unfortunately this tainted an otherwise good experience.

Listen, I don’t know what the chef was doing when he made the anchovy ketchup to serve with the Sussex cow but he needs to continue that. It was divine. It was my partners birthday and he decided we should attend. We had the beef tartare and Chalk Stream Farm Sea Trout for starters. For our main we had Sussex Dairy Cow and Salt Marsh lamb. We had bottle of Bordeaux, brandy, Prosecco and cocktails. The beef was exquisite, I’ve never had anything so tender in my life!! We had side dishes, as well but the new potatoes were cold and I forgot about it. I think it had truffle but serving cold didn’t do much for my palate. The maitre’d removed it from our bill, so that was neither here or there. You are served bread and butter with your drinks (which is free, I know some people don’t like to pay for it) The butter was adored with nori, I was very skeptical, however with the bread it was gorgeous. The staff, every single one of them I met, we’re polite and helpful, down to the ancillary staff I bumped into. I had a pleasant time and can not wait to return. Maybe then i’ll try the desserts.

We were seated by the window which was really lucky.
Our waiter Valeriou was so friendly and tended to our every need!
Would highly recommend a night out here. Food was delicious as expected!

Let down by the service - a DisapoinTING experience.

First impressions were great - a very warm welcome. It all went downhill from there.

After being seated we were asked if we wanted to order any drinks and the host told me he would come back in a minute or two once we'd had a look at the menu.

Ten minutes later and he came to take our order, very hastily and interrupting me when I asked a question about the drinks.

The wine my partner ordered arrived shortly after, my whiskey cocktail took longer (this is to be expected, but not as long as it took).

Ten minutes later a waiter came along and took away our starter cutlery and replaced my knife with a steak knife, then tried to server us two main courses that were for someone else - despite the fact we hadn't had our starters yet.

Shortly after a waitress tried to top up my partners wine from someone else's bottle (we had only ordered a glass)

Eventually we were served our starters - these were presented beautifully and were very well put together dishes.

After our starters were taken away I noticed that the front of house staff we very disorganised, they were making mistakes all over the place. There was no calmness or professionalism. It felt very much like the blind leading the blind, youngsters charging around the restaurant. One waiter actually ended up head-butting another waiters tray as they weren't paying attention to each-other.

All we could hear from the staff was them apologising to table after table for one error or another.

We had ordered two mains & two side dishes. When are mains were brought out we had to remind the staff that we had ordered side dishes and then these came what felt like five minutes later.

I did discuss this with one of the hosts and she arranged a 50% discount to the bill, which to me indicates she agreed with my opinions.

There needs to be some serious training done for the front of house staff, perhaps they can go next door to Hutong and learn a thing or two...

While the Shard & it’s views are lovely, wouldn’t recommend picking this restaurant for your visit. The food wasn’t special and not anywhere near the quality you’d expect for the prices (lamb was salty, monkfish was tough). The bigger tragedy was the service. We had two waiters neither of which knew the menu. Took me 35 min and speaking to a manager to get my drink and it was the wrong champagne! Won’t be going back sadly

We went to Ting for my sons 18th Birthday as a treat.
It far excelled our expectations.
The views are amazing, the food is sublime and the service is second to none.
We have eaten in some amazing restaurant's across the world and this was one, if not THE, best experience we have had.
It is pricey but we knew that beforehand and for a special treat we would recommend it wholeheartedly.

I have been to
Restaurant many time and have given 5 star. I know at night they turn light down so you can see view. But our table had no secondary lighting . We had to ask for extra candles , and had use our phone to eat. The business man next. You must worse table in restaurant. I had the Sussex cow before delicious . But god was it salty we did know about the salt bath. Until my client ask for salt for her chips. Told you may not want and then told us how it was prepared. I wish I’d sent it back . I spend the whole drink
Water. I am a diabetic it would be a good idea if you told your waitresses and waiters about the fact that salt is quite dangerous for a diabetic . I don’t think my client was very please with food.

The service was fair for a restaurant of this standing and the staff were very professional and friendly.

The food was somewhat disappointing given the rating for the restaurant. There was an overwhelming seasoning of salt on my beef and other items also. The steak was in fact not tender either.

So disappointing for a high-end restaurant.

But wow, what a location!!

The service at the restaurant was impeccable and I must show my appreciation to your sommelier, very well informed and extremely helpful with choosing our drinks. The only thing that let down the experience slightly was as we left for the Gong bar we asked to have the rest of the wine brought to our room for us to enjoy later but it never arrived. Other than that, superb place and reccomended to friends.
