This is a lovely place to come for breakfast, the atmosphere is lovely and relaxing the waiters are very attentive and the decor is Devine. We had the buffet breakfast and There was something there for every food pallet from smoked salmon with Crème fraîche To a fruit bar and cereal bar With fresh pastries and endless flavours of jams and condiments, and not forgetting the fresh sausages and bacon and eggs. Such a lovely place to dine the only thing I would say is the price could be lowered a little bit on the buffet to make it more appealing to all audiences and the time you clear the buffet should be a bit later than 10:30.
Overall we were very pleased with our experience and would definitely return!
Very pleased with our lunch and service received, however, I think the furnishings are dated. Carpeting edges are fraying; marble tables are stained. We moved from a timber table which was very “sticky” to the touch.
Staff were very polite and helpful.
Poor breakfast experience. Scrambled eggs were nice, not enough and no toast. Would not recommend. The breakfast club along the street was much much nicer.
Food is very overpriced and taste mediocre. Service was terrible, impossible to get a drink and we seemed to be a big inconvenience for the waiter. View is amazing, but that the only thing positive.
We were out celebrating our 2 year anniversary, the staff were incredibly welcoming, the views - breathtaking. Ken and Stephane did an amazing job looking after us, I will definitely be returning soon!
The food from the Asian menu was nothing better than you would get at a local Asian restaurant, but was extremely overpriced at nearly £30 a main course. The starters I had from the non-Asian menu were both good. The puddings were beautifully presented. It was not as good a meal as one would expect from a 5 star hotel.
I had told the staff that it was my birthday so that we would hopefully get a table by the window (which turned out to be easy since the restaurant was pretty empty). I didn't expect anything extra, but it was apparent that no note had been made on the booking since I didn't even get wished a happy birthday. That kind of lack of attention to detail is unimpressive. I wouldn't go back - there are better restaurants in the Shard at Oblix, Aqua or Hutong.
Some lovely dishes overall but poor vegetarion food
The service was exceptional and the view equally so. The food however was ordinary. My laksa looked like a laksa but tasted nothing like a laksa.
We spent a fantastic lunch at the Ting. The staff was very welcoming and efficient, atmosphere relaxing and very good food!
Outstanding service, beautiful ambiance and stunning views. Breakfast was delicious, great ingredients and beautiful presentation. We will be back.
The service was very slow, the restaurant was very busy. Food was cold.
Ting Restaurant, Shangri-La At The Shard is the peak of fine dining, very sophisticated, classy and delivers views like no other. Service was perfectly attentive. Both the Asian and British dishes were world-class and generously sized. The live music by a pianist created an incredible ambience. A very special night to remember.
Great experience and great service. Had a lovely table by the window with a fantastic view.
The staff were amazing-so accommodating. Food was great as well.
Probably one of the worst restaurants I’ve visited. I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday and the team did not even acknowledge this. The food was below average and the service was extremely poor. The only positive thing was that it was located in the shard. Please please please don’t waste your money at this place. If you do want to splash and out and have the shard experience then you’re better off choosing one of the other restaurants. Worst experience ever.
Attentive staff, delicious food, amazing view. A Brilliant anniversary meal.
We came here for a Birthday family celebration and were initially disappointed by the fact that we were going to be charged £10 per slice of a cake we bought ourselves, followed by being seated in the afternoon dining lounge chairs for a dinner. Following this, the starters took nearly 1 hour to come out. By the time the mains arrived we only had 20 minutes left of our 2 hour reservation and had to skip on dessert as a result. Lastly, the restaurant ended up mixing up the mains with a totally different item on the menu to add to our frustration. However, despite all of this, I have to say, the restaurant did an exceptional job of resolving all these issues. Not only did they place us on a better table, but they also sincerely apologised and replaced our mains with no complaints. As an extra apology, they went on to remove the charge for the two mains and alongside removing the service charge (plus allowing us to cut our own cake for free). Overall, the food was very good and despite all the hiccups, we had a memorable experience at The Shard.
our server marie was extremely helpful and polite, made our experience very enjoyable
Stayed at the hotel for my birthday . I must say the view and the staff are wonderful. The food ..... as I am asian , these foods are “fake” , deep fried squid with okonomiyaki sauce flavour (?) , Hainanese chicken was definitely fake , the sauce suppose to be on the side but some sort of brown sauce was covered , there’s no chili sauce and the rice was watery and soggy ..... the worst restaurant in shangri-la hotel . I’ve been to the asian branch -restaurants in shangri-la ..... it definitely does not meet the standard . But the price is reasonable for the hotel standard . If you’re going there for the view then it’s worth it . P.S happy birthday message on a piece of paper (?) not much effort for a Shangri-La....
great evening, sad that Covid is destroying the ambience of restaurants, but glad we found a restaurant with safety measures in place you cannot win can you
Great food, Lovely staff and amazing views
Will defo be back
A wonderful dining experience for any special occassion. Ambience, food, decor, views and service were all exceptional.
The food choice was excellent - a mixture of Asian or modern British. Service absolutely superb - waiters and sommelier very professional , welcoming and friendly .
The restaurant is on the 35th floor so there are fantastic views over London and especially the tower bridge .
First time going to the shard and it was exactly as I expected and more. Delicious food, spectacular views, courteous, professional and friendly staff. Will definitely be going again. Perhaps for an evening meal to see the London skyline from an evening perspective.
The restaurants ambience and views are great and i guess it's something you have to do once in your lifetime being the Shard. However, the food was less than average, obviously overpriced and the dessert was actually one of the worst i've had. They also had a discretionary 12.5% service charge on top of the bill which states on the menu 'this will be added to your bill' which i thought was shocking as giving tips should be optional. Our waiter was a nice guy but a little overly friendly and at times unprofressional. We got a great view but were not seated at a diner table, more of a lounge style therefore had difficulty and had to hunch up to eat our food. If you feel compelled to experience the Shard then i'd recomend a one time experience for tea / coffee etc as the food is poor.
Very nice restaurant, good food and lovely staff. The cocktails were ok but they need to have more options with mixures as they were all too strong.
The menu is an eclectic mix of Asian and modern English, now that Shangri La have fused two, or three restaurants into one during Covid. We stuck to Asian, which was superb. The Malaysian Fried rice (Nasi Goreng) complete with fried egg, was superb, as was the satay chicken. Beef in black been sauce was extremely good. All washed down with some lovely Jasmin tea. the only low note was the table: I had asked for a Thames-side table when I booked, but was shown to a table overlooking the railway tracks, as the riverside was reserved for afternoon tea. However, there is a beautiful view of St Paul's from the toilets, so make sure you visit.
Overall we had a really great experience. The food was delicious, service was outstanding and the views were amazing. The only downside was that we were unable to get a window seat which would have made the occasion even more special and the portion sizes were on the small side. Overall very worth it for a special occasion however it's not the best value for money as you'd expect
We were not sat anywhere near a window, got the wrong starters, consistently overlooked by waiting staff, everyone else in restaurant were given stools for bags but not us! For the food and service and considering we got no view at all, the value for the price was extremely disappointing.
Do not visit here for a special evening! I had booked this restaurant a month in advance for my partners birthday. Before booking I had made a special request which was to be seated by the window as he had never visited the shard. On arrival we were NOT seated by the window, I was told other guests had priority. I wasn’t going to let this ruin the evening. I had told the waiter if a seat was to become available, please do keep us in mind. Once we had been seated, we had a table in front of us completely free by the window during our whole meal.
DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE our hostess was rude and a complete snob.
WILL NOT BE VISITING AGAIN.
Please see image of the on the house “birthday cake” they had given to us. Completely appalling! Please don’t insult your customers like this!
If you wish for a special evening, please visit Hakkasan or Novikov - they truly are experts in customer service!
Very good service for such an high expectation restaurant. Met all expectations & was friendly and warming. Very happy with price for the food & for the settings.
Very nice and convenient if staying at the hotel. Expensive but if staying at the hotel you may get 20% off the bill which we did.
It was so amazing Simon was the best host I’ve ever met he was so kind and he was delightful.
The food was absolutely amazing the chefs did wonderful.
My bestfriend really enjoyed her birthday
A wonderful view of London from on high!
The food was good.
Definitely a good venue for a treat
