Such a beautiful restaurant. Cocktails were lovely (although very expensive). Food was awful! I’m so upset by this because so many people have recommended it & the bill was silly money. Our waitress however was so lovely & she saved the evening for us.
We had the best waitress Jennifer what a fantastic table host
There was nothing special about our visit other than the view.
We booked this restaurant for a birthday treat for a family member. There was a Huge lack of effort from the staff considering they were informed not only in the booking online, but again confirmed in the call 48 hours prior that it was a special birthday treat and we were told a complimentary birthday decorated dessert would be provided. On arrival, the downstairs restaurant greeter was absent so we had to wait in a windy entrance with a newborn for over 5 minutes, we were taken to a table and then left alone. The staff did not explain the menus, advise on foods or allergies or make any effort with the celebratory person, not even a ‘happy birthday’. We ended up specifically asking for a birthday dessert to be decorated and was told additionally that food that we wanted they do not offer, to then see that item come out to other tables all evening l. Poor service & lack of effort.
Our 3 people late lunch cost almost £300 and were even charged for the birthday dessert which was not even decorated for the birthday girl (which we were told was complimentary on the confirmation call). We have experienced many restaurants on birthdays & this was the only one who ignores the person celebrating their birthday & makes no effort at all with the celebration. We understood they do not allow balloons or table decorations but this service & attention to the booking was POOR.
We have stayed at the hotel previously and had great service hence why we wanted to bring her for her special birthday but we were left disappointed and once parking at the restaurant had been paid we’d spent over £300 on a pretty poor meal for 3 people.
We did inform staff or our dissatisfaction and we really felt this put a damper on what was a very special moment but nothing was done to acknowledge it. Going to a basic restaurant would have made this day more special as the staff would have and do more make effort.
The food was great & they had the best service. I really recommend going here.
We had a lovely table next to a window, the chairs were a little uncomfortable but the whole experience was lovely
The restaurant had an amazing view, great ambience and staff were so welcoming and friendly! Potion size was good as well.
The food was horrific. Couldn't believe how bad it was, tasted dry, and stale. For the price it highly isn't worth it and would never recommend.
Not as good as it used to be
Lovely place for an occasion, the chicken is halal which is a bonus. Would recommend the chicken satay. Unfortunately I did request a window table but did not get one. But nevertheless our server was amazing and made the evening flawless.
Altogether a good experience, although bill came up and was incorrect an over charge of £48 for desserts we did not have.
Food was great - plenty to choose from.
Unless you’re sat directly by the window the views of the city are interrupted by other patrons and interior lights reflecting off the windows.
Considering each table has a limited time to dine, I feel the service should have been much quicker. There should have been more staff working however the staff we did have were very helpful and friendly. We only managed to get one round of drinks and there was no time to order desert. Never have I experienced this in a restaurant, especially not in a restaurant of this “magnitude”.
Some of the furniture looked dated and impractical for a sit down meal. For example, we were sat on what can only be described as a sofa, with a low coffee table to eat off of. Uncomfortable and out of place for a fine dining restaurant in my opinion.
All in all, I feel the Ting restaurant is confused with it’s identity. It’s torn between being fine dining and relaxed.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Server got our bill wrong a few times but it was very busy and this is understandable when there's new processes and such to follow for covid-19! Would definitely return.
Excellent service, amazing setting and views. Quite pricey but not excessive. Lovely experience.
It was my mums 70th birthday the staff couldn’t have been more happy to help we thoroughly enjoyed it
This is a lovely place to come for breakfast, the atmosphere is lovely and relaxing the waiters are very attentive and the decor is Devine. We had the buffet breakfast and There was something there for every food pallet from smoked salmon with Crème fraîche To a fruit bar and cereal bar With fresh pastries and endless flavours of jams and condiments, and not forgetting the fresh sausages and bacon and eggs. Such a lovely place to dine the only thing I would say is the price could be lowered a little bit on the buffet to make it more appealing to all audiences and the time you clear the buffet should be a bit later than 10:30.
Overall we were very pleased with our experience and would definitely return!
The view was fantastic.
We were early there and we still get in.
Very pleased with our lunch and service received, however, I think the furnishings are dated. Carpeting edges are fraying; marble tables are stained. We moved from a timber table which was very “sticky” to the touch.
Staff were very polite and helpful.
Poor breakfast experience. Scrambled eggs were nice, not enough and no toast. Would not recommend. The breakfast club along the street was much much nicer.
Food is very overpriced and taste mediocre. Service was terrible, impossible to get a drink and we seemed to be a big inconvenience for the waiter. View is amazing, but that the only thing positive.
We were out celebrating our 2 year anniversary, the staff were incredibly welcoming, the views - breathtaking. Ken and Stephane did an amazing job looking after us, I will definitely be returning soon!
The food from the Asian menu was nothing better than you would get at a local Asian restaurant, but was extremely overpriced at nearly £30 a main course. The starters I had from the non-Asian menu were both good. The puddings were beautifully presented. It was not as good a meal as one would expect from a 5 star hotel.
I had told the staff that it was my birthday so that we would hopefully get a table by the window (which turned out to be easy since the restaurant was pretty empty). I didn't expect anything extra, but it was apparent that no note had been made on the booking since I didn't even get wished a happy birthday. That kind of lack of attention to detail is unimpressive. I wouldn't go back - there are better restaurants in the Shard at Oblix, Aqua or Hutong.
Some lovely dishes overall but poor vegetarion food
The service was exceptional and the view equally so. The food however was ordinary. My laksa looked like a laksa but tasted nothing like a laksa.
We spent a fantastic lunch at the Ting. The staff was very welcoming and efficient, atmosphere relaxing and very good food!
Outstanding service, beautiful ambiance and stunning views. Breakfast was delicious, great ingredients and beautiful presentation. We will be back.
The service was very slow, the restaurant was very busy. Food was cold.
Ting Restaurant, Shangri-La At The Shard is the peak of fine dining, very sophisticated, classy and delivers views like no other. Service was perfectly attentive. Both the Asian and British dishes were world-class and generously sized. The live music by a pianist created an incredible ambience. A very special night to remember.
Great experience and great service. Had a lovely table by the window with a fantastic view.
The staff were amazing-so accommodating. Food was great as well.
Probably one of the worst restaurants I’ve visited. I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday and the team did not even acknowledge this. The food was below average and the service was extremely poor. The only positive thing was that it was located in the shard. Please please please don’t waste your money at this place. If you do want to splash and out and have the shard experience then you’re better off choosing one of the other restaurants. Worst experience ever.
Attentive staff, delicious food, amazing view. A Brilliant anniversary meal.
We came here for a Birthday family celebration and were initially disappointed by the fact that we were going to be charged £10 per slice of a cake we bought ourselves, followed by being seated in the afternoon dining lounge chairs for a dinner. Following this, the starters took nearly 1 hour to come out. By the time the mains arrived we only had 20 minutes left of our 2 hour reservation and had to skip on dessert as a result. Lastly, the restaurant ended up mixing up the mains with a totally different item on the menu to add to our frustration. However, despite all of this, I have to say, the restaurant did an exceptional job of resolving all these issues. Not only did they place us on a better table, but they also sincerely apologised and replaced our mains with no complaints. As an extra apology, they went on to remove the charge for the two mains and alongside removing the service charge (plus allowing us to cut our own cake for free). Overall, the food was very good and despite all the hiccups, we had a memorable experience at The Shard.
our server marie was extremely helpful and polite, made our experience very enjoyable
