Now, the restaurant has been completely refurbished, with interior design by Istanbul-based Hakan Ezer. The new look transforms the space, from sharp, almost austere black and white to a warmer, richer, more natural feel.
Simple bespoke wooden furniture, and a beautifully crafted collection of unmatched plates and china, speak volumes about this new spirit. Reflecting a focus on natural, organic materials and ingredients, they set the stage for a selection of dishes as arresting to look at as they are fascinating to taste.
A series of innovative à la carte and tasting menus, including six and eight course options that are also available with matching wines, are being offered.
My second visit to Tom's was disappointing compared to the first. Their refurb is popular but it has lost it's refined feel and is a bit like a modern pub inside now and it was chilly so we could not really relax and feel comfortable. The service is also more casual and a bit on the icy side we found that day. We requested the sommelier select seperate glasses of wines for us to go with our meals and the choice was fine but did not compliment my food at all, which was wood pigeon starter followed by lamb, as the wine chosen was a very dry white. The bread was divine, we ate all of it and the food was very good. We ordered two teas at the end and we received a small pot to share of the same size you receive for one. Not so good overall.
We came to Tom Aikens for lunch. The food was not bad with the beautiful presentation. Despite I was seated and waiting for my friends for just 5 minutes, the manager came over and told me the kitchen was closing and asked me to order for the whole table immediately with a tough attitude. And the waiters and waitress were also a little bit rude and cold. Overall it was a bad experience for us.
Saw the lunch deal of £28 for 2 courses and invited 3 friends who don't usually do lunches! We had a really good experience with delicious food and excellent service which was efficient and not intrusive. They adjusted the set menu to suit our various food requirements without a fuss.It was a relaxing experience in a calm ambience.
We enjoyed our first visit to Tom Aikens, having dined at Tom's Kitchen in the past. Exceptional service and presentation. Imaginative flavour combinations. It was a quiet Wednesday lunchtime, so atmosphere was not what it could have been but we did benefit from excellent service! I loved the pared down approach to both the table setting and interior design. The house made ricotta was a superb starter for both of us. Accompanied by excellent breads and savoury butters. My ashed cod main course was excellent, the fish was precisely cooked and the ash element was not overpowering. A dietary allergy was ably accommodated without any fuss.
We have learned that Tom Aikens is closing at the end of the month. We will lose access to the best and most creative food in London, with the most imaginative presentations and the best service. This is a very sad event.
Good food, good service and great atmosphere. Slightly disappointed that a number of wines on the menu were no longer in stock.
I dined with my husband for a late Xmas present and without a doubt the best restaurant we have ever been to.
Service and food simply outstanding and the atmosphere struck a beautiful balance between relaxed but professional.

Probably the best meal I have eaten in a long time. Fabulous combination of flavours and textures and beautiful presentation with each course. Friendly and non-obtrusive staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. A little bit soul-less on the night we were there as it was very quiet. Sommelier very helpful. We chose a la carte rather than the tasting menu. Scallop and pigeon starters both excellent but the pigeon was the winner. Pork and cod main courses again both excellent but the cod probably just edged it. The food is so fresh and flavoursome that you have to eat it slowly to enjoy everything that is going on. Highly recommended for a special occasion as it is expensive (but worth it).
Had a special occasion last week so took a day off and had lunch at Tom Aikens. Was really fabulous. I love the room, staff were so good and the food as expected was exceptional. Remains one of my very favourites in the entire city.
Quite simply, the best food we've ever eaten! Service was excellent, and the waiters were very knowledgable, friendly and professional. I require a gluten free diet, which was accommodated for without a problem. After ordering our wine and food, we were presented with a complementary trio of nibbles each. Every mouthful of all courses was bursting with flavour, and presented in such a creative way. Just when we thought we had finished, we were presented with a number of tasty treats, again these were complementry. Overall, a real quality experience in a very lovely setting, with a professional service that puts you at ease. We've already recommended the experience to a number of friends.
We were slightly nervous bringing our 3 kids (all under 10) here. We need not have been concerned. The staff were great and very accommodating. The food was fabulous. Highly recommended!

We visited Tom Aitkens and had the lunchtime set menu. We were greeted by the Manager and seated at our table. The dining room is beautiful and we sat by the large window. The service was exceptional throughout the meal. Two of my party are vegetarian and we were immediately given vegetarian menus. The food was exceptional and looked amazing. I would return to this restaurant.
That's what it is. From the Amuse bouche to the Sweets served with coffee, it's a fire works of unusual taste. A GREAT EXPERIENCE!
I went to Tom Aikens just shortly before the restaurant closed. I had a very enjoyable meal, mainly due to front of house doing a very good job and a brioche bun (actually I had two) which was among the best I have ever had. The cooking was certainly good, and of very high quality. But I lacked innovation and creativity.
It was a special Christmas present for my girlfriend so we went for the tasting menu with a glass of champagne to start. The food was fantastic, slightly pretentious but all was forgiven when the food hit your tastebuds. An immense array of ingredients with various highlights including the halibut, scallops and duck ensured that the 4 hours flew by and despite the 9 courses in total I was happily satisfied on the tube journey home rather than concerned with when the next button would burst on the waistline!
Overall a great experience with excellent food and very attentive knowledgeable service.
A great lunch, fantastic food, superb service. The presentation of the food was beautiful,and the flavors amazing.
The tables are well spaced so you don't feel crammed in next to other diners.
The portion sizes are fine and after a three course meal we all left completely full.
We received complimentary amuse bouches which were very much appreciated, all in all a great dining experience.
We've been on a bit of foodie tour recently, and have eaten at some of the UKs household names, and although we were looking forward to eating at Tom Aiken's' we were a little apprehensive. Being in Chelsea we were concerned that although the food would be good, the ambience would be a bit contrived it would be horrendously overpriced. How wrong could we have been!
Saturday night full restaurant, great atmosphere, attentive but not overbearing service without any pretentious overtones, fabulous food from an impressive kitchen. Reasonably good value for London to boot. Thanks for a memorable Saturday night, worth the trip to the capital for.

Interior was not as expected and initially seemed a little austere but wow...the food! Each course was imaginative and exciting. Individual ingredient flavours came through but also melded together to create a super taste and experience.
Well done the kitchen.
Service @ table was exemplary in the main although a neighbouring table did attract more attention and we had to pour our own wine at times. This was not considered too great a hardship!
I was trying to find somewhere for my wife's birthday dinner: my problem was to top last year's which was a day at Le Manoir. Judging from the look on my wife's face (both before and afterwards), I think Tom Aitkin's fitted the bill perfectly! She loved everything about it. A special thanks to the somellier who provided us with individual wines for our a la carte choices. A marvellous night was had by us both.
Food was excellent. We didnt really need dessert but couldnt resist and all three we ordered were excellent. then came along the petit fours! Wine list a little pricey with few less expensive options.
This was entirely reasonable / ok but we were really looking forward to it and it just fell short of what we were hoping for in several ways. Glad we went but wouldn't rush back. I think it is outclassed by The Fat Duck and The Hand and Flowers where I have also eaten recently. Nothing wrong with it, just not quite as good and my feeling about the food was that it was very stylish and looked pretty but just wasn't as delicious or generous with portion size as it might have been. I am definitely no expert but do know what I like. Worth a try though.

The room was well lit to keep tables private but able to see your food, the hard surfaces meant noise rattled round a bit but that is a minor detail
Go and try it - truly amazing experience
Tom Aikens has clearly thought in great detail about every aspect of the dining experience, from the furniture, to the china, to the menu and wine list presentation, to the lighting, to the acoustics - I could go on - the attention to detail is meticulous. Needless to say the food is superb, really delicious and some dishes are positively theatrical in the way they are presented on the plate. The service too was faultless. It's definitely not a restaurant for those on a tight budget but as a party celebrating two birthdays it was a marvellous evening and I would certainly recommend it for a special occasion.

We booked the special lunch offer - 3 courses with a glass of wine. Attractive, minimalist decor, almost zenish.
We were disappointed with the portions; most dishes were about 4 mouthfuls. The cheese range was good, but the portion was so small. Perhaps it was the lunch offer, but the picture does not reflect the reality - it looks twice the portion.
For mid-week it was quite empty. Would like to try again in the evening perhaps, but only if we are in the area.

Has to be one of the best lunches I have ever had. Imaginative , technically mind blowing, tasty to the extreme, the decor is very special too along side a competent and friendly service. Tom Aitkins absolute genius , petit fours are not to be missed .
I have been fortunate enough to dine at many lovely restaurants in London and Michelin star ones. but I must admit Tom A. has exceeded all my expectations! Unbelievable food cooked to perfection great presentation, even the bread s to die for!
and the service is amazing. It is not a pretentious place like most of them and the staff are great but relaxed !

the Bread is obviously a little bit of bread heaven brought to chelsea and the butters the presentation of the food was arty in the right way the taste combinations and sensations were MMMMMMMMMMM
the cheese selection chutneys and breads then some fantastic petit fours
this is most definately on my list for must eats in London
The atmosphere of Tom Aikens was very comfortable and soothing. I liked that there were parquet style tables rather than the conventional white table cloths. The unconventional platters and presentation also made the dishes more exciting thou did not cover the rather dull and uninspired tastes in some of the dishes. However the rabbit was excellent with a variety of tastes and textures, also the apple dessert. The service was attentive without being intrusive. I was disappointed that the accents of the waiters was often so thick that i had no idea what they were saying. Overall the food was not as exciting as i would expect for a restaurant of this calibre and so not great value.

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my son's graduation. I wanted somewhere special and this fit the billing. On my previous visit I had one of the best meals I'd ever had. Unfortunately this visit didn't quite live up to that high standard. Although beautifully presented some of the food just wasn't as good as I had hoped. From over-cooked scallops to vegetables I couldn't actually cut it just missed the mark.
It's still a fabulous restaurant but after the build up I gave it to my fellow dinners I wish they had experienced it as I did on my previous visit.
The best overall meal experience I have had
From the arrival of the canapes to to the last mouthful of petits fours the whole experice at Tom Aitkens was amazing. The food is seriously out of this World - where does he come up with it? Flavours never before experienced and presentation that simply stunned! We had the taster menu and at first wanted larger portions as everything was so delsightful but once the desserts came out (15 ways of chcolate ?!!) we were happy that we still had the appetites to enjoy everything! Would love to come back again :-)
Everything was good just I call one day before to ask if it could be posible to change our reservation later because they gave it us at 19:00 which is very early, they answer was the most they could do is half our later. We arrived to the restaurant at 19:30 and the place was empty it passed an hour and a hour and a half and still the restaurant was 50% full and stay the whole night like this, when we left we told the capitain about this and obviously he told that it was weird that they had the reservations made and they didn´t show.
Also they said they gave us the reservation at that hour because we made it by internet.
That is very Presumptous.
