Towson Tavern

This was my second time coming here but my fiancé’s first time. The food is always spectacular I never have any issues pertaining to that. However, this time my service was a bit Mediocre. I had two different people serving me so I’m not sure which one was our actual server . We placed our order for our meals and drinks but after receiving the food nobody came back to check for refills, if the meal was okay or anything. The manager was walking around so I able to flag him down to ask for what I needed. Great food but ok service, customer service is everything! It’s what brings the guest back every time.

Sean the GM was awesome, checked in on us and really went over and above on the service. Spike the waiter was knowledgeable and gave insight to the menu and we really enjoyed his recommendations. Very friendly environment. Would recommend to anyone who wants great food in Towson/Baltimore area.

Such a nice dinner! Never sat in the side dining room and really enjoyed it, especially decorated for the holidays. We enjoyed our meal from drinks, to apps, to entrees. Our server was excellent and other staff/management came by to check in on us as well, which was nice! If they have the bacon wrapped scallops available when you go, order them!

Very nice service, the Brussels sprouts were crispy and so tasty, that we had to have a 2nd order. Also enjoyed the appetizer crab cakes- we didn’t see the need in the bacon jam mix on the plate that each caked sat in, it was cold & flavors did not mix well but cakes were some of the best I’ve had. I am a shrimp & grits snob....I definitely recommend them. The fried green tomatoes the grits were places on was a creative & very compatible with this dish. I was pleasantly surprised. The sirloin was decent but the price reflected it.
Overall, very happy & would go back when we visit again.

The bartender was amazing! Very hospitable and welcoming! The short rib was excellent.

Due to Covid, the restaurant was really quiet and safe for us to be on a date. Had a nice booth and a great waiter.
Our meals were wonderful. Topped the meal off with graham cracker ice cream and fresh brewed coffee. Yum!

The outdoor area is great during these COVID times. Very good server. No issues - basically a great time.

The food there is AMAZING! Since the new chef came it has become a wonderful dining experience!

first time visit and what a pleasant surprise - helpful, attentive staff, nice surroundings and the food was delicious! Best gazpacho ever! Sat outside for social distancing purposes and shade and fans made it ok despite the heat. Pleasant experience - will return.

Great food, great service. Location is within walking distance within the Towson area. If you drive tger is valet parking.

We have eaten at Towson Tavern and love the food. Friday night's dinner was no exception as the food was very good and presentation was great. The only downside was being seated near the bar which was so loud it was difficult to carry on a conversation at our table. Will certainly request to be seated in their separated dining area next time.

I took my girlfirend here for valentines day the past two years. The food is very good and it has a good environment. Definitely fancy enough to provide a romantic evening, however, nothing over-the-top. I do have a few complaints, while the service is pretty good, the food seems to take unusually long to be served, but that is my opinion. The menu is also VERY limited, offering about 8 entrees to choose from (at least that's how the valentines day menu was). Other than that, I am sure you will find the food to be worth it, they have great steaks and seafood and an outrageous wine selection.

We went there for Valentine's dinner. Our first time there, but friends recommended it. Wow are we happy we went! Our table was ready on time for our reservation. We arrived early, so spent some time at the bar (Say: "Happy hour"). The food was incredible, service was great' We will definitely return.

Our waiter was unfriendly and even seemed to be annoyed that we didn’t all order alcohol during happy hour. He rarely checked on us and seemed to have an attitude when he did. We called in advance to ask about happy hour and then when we arrived we got two different stories about the specials. But the worst was the service.

It had been a while since we last dined at the Towson Tavern. The service was friendly and informative, we had a nice table tucked away from the bar, and the menu had several selections that made us think hard about what to eat. Give the portabella pizza and mussels a try. We'll dine at the Towson Tavern again.

We started with a salad and I'm so glad we did. They have several salad options which allowed my husband and I to each get something different. It was a bit pricey, but very fresh and not your boring house salad. I had the braised short ribs, which were very tender. I'm not typically a meat and white potato eater, but I figure a few times a year is ok. My husband had the shepherd's pie which was a special for restaurant week, but he just ordered the entrée, not the 3-course option. He was fond of it and it was enough for each of us to have leftovers the next day. It was rather slow for a Friday night as I'm guessing most students can't afford to eat here.

Brandi, our server, was a delight! The food was fantastic! One of my 2 favorite places to dine in Towson.

The service and food are always outstanding! Great place for special occasions. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. Food prices are a little higher than other restaurants but we are never disappointed. Menu items change at certain times. There always seems to be something new and delicious to try.

The food was overcooked. The service was terrible. We did not get bread or water. The server brought white wine when I ordered red wine. The room was very noisy due to a large party that should have been seated in a place where they would not distract others. The food was very high priced, mediocre quality, and not really worth it.

This is not a 2-$$!sign restaurant, unless a burger is ok with you. No other choice under $20 on the menu except appetizers, which were all in the teens. It was an OK experience. Our server must have been working her first night because she could not answer any questions about prices, types of beer or any menu items. The highlight of the evening was the Valet. He was courteous, efficient and worked hard on such a cold night.

Place is just ok. Service was slow for a place less then half full. Complimentary bread was late (as stated by server) and dry. Ordered steak medium rare. Came out medium well. Then had the pleasure of debating if the server the difference between the two. I even pulled up pics from the internet to support my cause.
My preference was accommodated and I received a complimentary dessert. Although the server was to busy to retrieve a dessert menu. She instead verbalized all the options. At least the valet guys outside gave us a voucher for free parking.

Our dinner was very well prepared and delish! Our waitress was attentive and helpful. We definitely will be back.

Pan-seared scallops were done perfectly but were far too heavily salted. Order them without the searing rub.

Consistently good food and service. Pricey for a tavern but very good.

Nice place, great food, crab soup was excellent. Friendly bar service, good beer and whiskey selections. Would go back.
