Staff were really friendly and food good...except for the fries. They quote he fries are cooked with chicken fat, so you expect tasty, flavoursome fries, in fact they simply tasted like McCanns oven chips. Apart from this small point (which overall wasn’t a major disappointment) the food is good and staff both friendly and professional. The art work is of course stunning, with plenty of noses at windows to take a peek. Definitely worth a visit!!!!
The location is ideal and easy to get to. The building is spacious and creates an aged, but open dining experience. There are enough different sub spaces - the mezzanine, the alley off to the side, the main dining hall - to feel private but included. The menu was full of comfort food for meat-lovers, pescetarian and vegetarians alike. Delicious. Moorish. Prepared with care. Served with a smile and a story. A great dining experience - even with (or perhaps because of?) the giant cow and rooster in a box looling over you.
Wasn’t impressed with the portion sizes or the quality of the food for the price that you pay! Other places in Shoreditch that provide better quality at less expense! At least I tried it! Service was brilliant!
Very unusual setting. Very good set lunch menu. Very friendly service
We were a group of 9 with 3 kids (two aged 4 and one who is about to turn 2) celebrating a birthday.
It was such a relief to get to the restaurant and see other kids, and it was an even bigger relief to see that the staff was super attentive. There was no rolling eyes during our meal and no panic when the kids started running before we left. It can be a bit daunting having a family meal with such young kids, but your staff made us feel super welcome!
I was hoping this would be a nice, quirky place for an intimate birthday dinner for two, but was disappointed with both the food and ambience. As a previous very happy patron of Hix Soho it was doubly disappointing. The venue is over lit, noisy and impersonal. Fittings and furniture are cheap. Food was remarkably bland and overpriced - again, a shock after enjoying many lovely meals at Hix. The art installation is wonderful, but you can see it just by walking past. Do that, and then go to one of the many other lovely eateries in the area.
Went to The Tramshed with high hopes having been recommended by someone who had been there already. The menu is quite limited, not necessarily a bad thing but unless you want to spend a small fortune on steaks there's not a massive amount of choice. I had the chilli beef salad. It was okay but a bit too hot to be enjoyable. The pickled salad was nice but the whole thing ended up being a bit of a soggy mess and I didn't finish it. We were recommended to try the truffle fries which were the best part of £6. Again, they were okay but nothing special. The crate lager was nice but expensive again. The decor and ambience were good and the service was great but we both left a bit disappointed.
Lovely building, good ambiance and the sirloin was very tasty. While the staff were very friendly, they seemed a little overstretched and the fries were extremely salty.
Service was very slow, 20-25 minute wait between courses. Food was average, not worth the money and doesn’t live up to the hype.
Great food and lovely service, would definitely go again 👌🏽
Pretty good chicken and tasty side dishes, fun environment with giant Damien Hirst in centre of room. Very loud. Good for taking out of towners.
The location is amazing! Like Some old warehouse or something. Right when you enter you notice a big cow in the middle, grabbing your attention. The food is amazing, you can literally eat your heart out here! Personel is friendly and quick too!
The place was empty as we went on 1st of January
However, the service was terrible. We ordered 3 times for our sides which they forgot and we had to chase them for 10mins for the bill.
People were not keen to serve us despite that it was not busy at all
Staff were overstretched and occasionally rude. The steak was cooked poorly, chewy and sinuous, fat poorly rendered and for a premium priced chateaubriand I expect a lot better. Will not recommend under any circumstances. The meal was also pricey but that didn’t reflect in either the service or the quality of the food.
Went for NYE with my husband. Food was delicious and service very good. Food arrived promptly after ordering and staff were very attentive despite being very busy. We were seated at counter as only seats available at time of booking however we both said we would choose to sit there again rather than at a table. Counter was comfortable with adequate space and easy access to staff. Would 100% recommend. We will be back.
So much good choice on the menu. Good food, nice ambience.
This is my 5th time to tramshed and normally I would say it’s a little pricey but I was really disappointed when we went, my boyfriend had been earlier in December and had a similarly bad experience. The steak was really below par vs. Previous and the service was really bad and not at all attentive, having to ask 4:5 times to get attention to be told it’s not me! We were told we could only have the table for 1:15/1:30 after just finishing our mains they were desperate to take them and then told us sorry you’ll have to move to the bar. I had actually wanted a desert so they had to ask the a manager if we could stay a little longer to have a desert but by then I was just really annoyed with how we had been treated. I normally always recommend this place, but I really would consider not coming back now which is a real shame
Had a group of 7 on NYE. Service was brilliant, big smiles, good conversation and very helpful. Food as always exceptional, steaks cooked to perfection. Slight drawbacks would be some bowls of chips were over salty and main course took a while to come. But giving benefit of doubt due to being NYE.
Lovely burgers and a good wine list. A bit noisy, but as it is an actual tramshed that isn’t surprising.
All in all a very pleasant place to eat
Had a great experience, would recommand it for a nice dinner with friends!
We went as a group of 9 - we had friends visiting from the US. Atmosphere was good and table setting allowed us to have a good catch up. It was a little cold, but not uncomfortable. A bit disappointing that when we ordered at before 8pm on a Saturday evening, they only had 1 porterhouse left - 2 of our group shared it and the rest of us had the big strip for 5 and burgers for rest. The porterhouse was smaller than others we had seen come out earlier.
Steak is cooked really nicely and is tasty, however sides are not worth the money - almost £10 for a few stems of over cooked broccoli and a small handful of mushrooms.
Service was very good so overall, I would return, but would choose more carefully from menu to ensure value for money.
Our US friends did say it was the best steak they have had in England!
Good atmosphere! Good food, good service!
Chicken is good, decoration is good, service is nice
Great food, awesome environment and good value for money
All time favourite restaurant in London. Everything is superb!
We were quite disappointed in the food at Tramshed. I had wanted to visit for a while and although the space was excellent, and the service and ambiance very nice, it was all let down by the food. In fairness, the larger steaks at other tables looked excellent, but the three 250g sirloins we ordered were distinctly average, and the chips were nothing special. One of our party had the chicken and was up all night with an upset stomach.
In summary, nice staff and venue, but there are many better steak places available, some in the immediate vicinity. Doubt I'll be back with so many excellent options nearby.
Fast service for everyday dining.
Really enjoyed our time at the Tramshed – exceptional service and fantastic food. I wish there would’ve been a few more non-fried sides but that’s just a personal preference. The food/meet was fantastic and we had a great night. Would definitely recommend it.
The food was enjoyable however some of our orders took a little too long to come out, understandable as it was a busy Christmas evening. Look forward to dining here again hopefully on a quieter day.
Took clients for a relaxed Christmas meal. Food is very good, as is the drinks menu. Great atmosphere but quite noisey so no good for business chat, but a good place to socialise. Staff were great.
Food, ambience - really good. Service was so bad, my client told me "I enjoyed the food, but will not rush in to book this place anytime soon" - which in summary is my experience too. From having to wait for someone to come at the front and ask us what are we there for, through to waiters refusal to accommodate one of our requests to have a simple salad that is not on the menu, all the way to the very poor and pricey wine list (wines are really bad), I feel disappointed. Steaks were good, although they come to the restaurant pre-cut and then aged, so you can not order 1.5kg of t-bone for example. Waiters always looked rushed and bothered, with looks bordering on arrogance - not exactly the attitude you'd expect when paying over £200 for two and getting charged 12.5% for poor service which i would never have paid, having not been forced to.
Poor value for money and indifferent quality. Starters were cold and we had them taken off the bill. Definitely past its sell-by date
Steak was over cooked and side had too much vinegar. The waiter did remove some. So that’s a plus.
Expected more for the price of the steak.
Food was Pretty good, Burger and chicken was super tasty, along with prawns & Cock & Bull croquettes.
Would not recommend the Korean fried beef. Was soggy and unappealing in the future would order the chicken instead. Service was not too great, moody staff and slow. long wait for ordering and they forgot to come back when we got dessert menus, left us for 30 -40mins before we managed to get the bill,
Good quality food unfortunately turned up not cooked and cold. The waiter agreed was quick and efficient to sort out the problem and changed without any fuss.
When the new dishes arrived we were very happy, would thoroughly recommend the marshmallows and donuts for desert = phenomenal!!
My wife and I took our 3 boys 6, 8 & 11 for lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Right from the start of our meal the service was excellent and friendly. Our drinks order was taken quickly and our food followed soon after. We shared the Indian Rock chicken and the boys also ate off the child menu (steak and burgers). We chose the Greek white, which was fantastic and went very well with the food. The puddings were delicious and my wife was also presented with an extra plate with a birthday message and mini chocolate cake. The boys loved the artwork dotted around, especially the suspended cow above our heads. All of us agreed that we would go again soon. Highly recommended.
Really lovely atmosphere. Lovely food. Great space to eat in.
Sirloin Steak was extremely fatty. Otherwise everything else was great, very good service!
Buena comida y simpático personal dispuesto a responder cualquier duda
Service was very poor at this restaurant even at 12.30 when there were only a few tables there. We had to get up and find the waitress on a number of occasions for basic things like cutlery, ketchup for kids and drinks. Service of £45 was added to the bill so not cheap either!
Portion sizes have also shrunk.
