Quite simply the best food I've tasted in a long time. It was at a different level from any other restaurant meal I've had in recent memory. We sat at the counter and watched the kitchen at work, which we loved and would recommend highly. The service was friendly and gracious. Prices were comparable with other fine dining -- though, as I say, the food was far superior. Can't recommend highly enough.

Very little help with wine selection - sommelier (if it was one) didn’t have many answers. We ended up Googling for ourselves to find out sugar content, etc. Pickerel and salmon were not good at all, pasta just okay. Tables too close together. They did credit the pickerel which was nice (I only took a couple of bites).

Always an amazing experience that we look forward to, and the highlight of our trips to NOTL. From the professionalism of the staff to the encyclopedic knowledge of the sommeliers, and not to mention the outstanding food, nothing ever disappoints!

We dined at Treadwell on the Saturday of Valentines Day weekend and although it was extremely busy the restaurant still maintained personalized service, excellent food presentation and delicious food. The cost is a bit higher than what we normally spend but it was a special occasion and you may go a whole year without tasting food this good so we feel it’s worth it for a treat. If you are in Niagara On The Lake don’t miss this place if you’re looking for wonderful food and top notch service.

We regularly visit Treadwell, when we are in. oral for our anniversary. This year was our third anniversary, and as usual, the folks at Treadwell did not disappoint. The food was outstanding and the service and wine pairings were perfect. Thanks for continuing to fulfill our expectations!

Everything was outstanding. A warm welcome, the staff very willing to share information, paced the meal very well. We enjoyed the experience tremendously and will not only recommend it to friends but will definitely return again.

An interesting menu where the food didn’t consistently deliver. For example both appetizers were good to very good but the lamb shoulder main course was so fat as to be almost inedible. The servers were knowledgeable and willing, but unable to provide seamless service because of the layout of the restaurant. I was somewhat disappointed but would also be prepared to try again.

An early Valentines dinner on Thursday Feb 13, we finally made it to the 'new' Treadwell' in NOTL, not having been for a visit since they left their old location in Port Dalhousie more than 7 years ago! We will be back again sooner...everything about the evening was fantastic - food, service by Benoit, atmosphere. It was a terrible stormy winter night and we were a touch late, but were warmly greeted, wonderfully fed with generous portions, and enjoyed our conversation with Benoit about his past and experiences since coming to NOTL from France many years ago.

OUTSTANDING! World class service, creative and inspired meal, one of the best.
Our Server was the best I have ever had, the Sommelier made the evening an experience.
This place is worth every penny, such a gift.

Great restaurant with a wonderful ambience and service. The food was delicious and the menu was amazing. Only issue I would say was that our food came a bit cold. That was disappointment but the food was delicious nevertheless.

One of our favorite stops at NOTL. Never ceases to amaze. Menu changes with new, delicious selections. Service is outstanding. Recommend to sit at the kitchen bar to watch the chefs prep and plate. Such a great experience!

Love coming here when we are in the area service and food always very good ! This time although food was good I felt the portions were small to the point you didn’t even get a chance to enjoy the food. In addition then the price point is pretty high for the experience .

Wonderful attentive service with an understanding about dietary restrictions and the meals were outstanding. We enjoyed the lobster sandwich, fish cakes, lamb and salmon dishes plus the butternut squash soup and fries to share. Each one had a unique flavour and were beautifully presented. 5 star all round.

This restaurant came well recommended, but they must have been having an off-night. The venison was way undercooked, and both of us left underwhelmed with the food and atmosphere.

Service was great, food was just awesome. I had the special, bacon wrapped venison on top of purple cabbage, mashed potato, with a red wine reduction - OMG! My partner had the beef cheeks, with broccoli etc., - Oh, we shared! And we both loved the other's dish. The staff was great. They were personable and attentive. Nice atmosphere and an overall wonderful dinner.

Beet salad was very tasty. Scallops received rave reviews. Lamb was delicious . Pickerel and duck breast good .
Wonderful creme brûlée with ginger snaps . Only disappointed the bakery did not have them on Saturday

Amazing atmosphere, food tasting for NYE was great. Service was prompt professional and even had a sommelier come and speak to us when we ordered our wine. Overall great experience from beginning to end!

While the menus promises a vegan selection there is not much selection with only one (quite strange and unappetizing sounding) main course available - “sunflower seed fricassee” which was described as a risotto but with sunflower seeds instead of rice. Coming with a vegan friend who didn’t want the main led to a bit of disappointment but the kitchen made a more generous salad to act in place of a main.
The meat courses were delicious and very generous.
In any event if looking for a vegan meal I would likely recommend elsewhere although the pickings are slim in Niagara.

I have been enjoying cuisine at Treadwell's for over a decade. I have never been disappointed. Our last outing there was over the top! How Stephen and his culinary staff continue to outdo themselves amazes me. We love sitting at the bar to watch the chefs prepare the meals and to to kibbitz with them. My partner's Asian pickeral was absolutely stunning. Having been raised in Southwestern Ontario, she is a pickeral aficionado. She felt that her meal was the best rendition of the fish she had ever had.
I felt the same about the lovely spicy pork chop. It was cunningly served in layers around the bone.
Add to this a bottle of Big Head's stunning Chenin Blanc, very reasonably priced at $64, our meal was made in heaven.
And I haven't mentioned our apps which were also non pareil.

Great food and atmosphere but took 90 minutes to get our main dish. 20 minutes sitting at the bar waiting for the table and then "kitchen backed up".
