Absolutely superb meal, with excellent recommendations from the wine list. Beth and her team on the upper floor looked after us superbly despite the table next to us being problematic! Food was splendid, good for me on a meat free Lent, and my fiancée was overjoyed with her food.
Food good, service needs work.
Had a really nice impromptu late lunch here on Saturday.
We took advantage of the three courses and a cocktail for £29.
I wasn't a huge fan of the rhubarb dessert - I felt that the rhubarb was far too hard but the lamb chop main course made up for it. I also had a very interesting starter of cod cheeks with BBQ and Kimchee.
I would recommend to other diners for sure. The signature cocktail was also very nice!
Lovely restaurant - will definitely visit again. Excellent food and service. Not cheap particularly but value for money.
The food was good, but we felt that staff weren’t very attentive and hung about a select few tables. We strained to get their attention on several occasions to follow up on our main and dessert courses as we were in a hurry (which they were aware of)
Food was well executed as one would expect but what made the difference was that the staff were so charming and helpful.
This was my second visit to Tredwells, and both times the food was sensational and the service very good. The first time I hat the Bavette steak accompanied by truffle mac n cheese. It was hearty and comforting and indulgent. The second time I opted for the plant-based 5-course tasting menu, which was as cleverly crafted as it was delicious.
However, there is such a thing as over-attentive waiting staff, and with 3 servers for our table of two, there were what felt like far too many interruptions on the more recent visit. It was a first date. We were trying to get to know each other but could barely start a conversation before someone came to check if we were ok. We were asked three times, by two waiters, in the space of two minutes if we wanted anything else. (Coffee, etc). In spite of this, we still had to ask twice for the bill.
Nevertheless, we had a very pleasurable evening and I will definitely be returning to Tredwells, but perhaps the staff could try to be a little more observant and a little less keen to please - it’s actually a little bit frustrating!
We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had the 3 course menu with cocktail for £29. Not bad value at all but sides were not included and the cocktails are tiny so you'll need to spend another £20 each on top of the usual menu which I think is quite cheeky.
Anyway, starters and mains were great and we loved the truffle mac n cheese. Let down slightly by the dessert which I think missed the mark slightly. My partner had the chouxnut which was a bit stodgy. I had the rhubarb and cheesecake mousse. It was fine, but I wouldn't really order again.
Service was attentive but the temperature in the restaurant was a little chilly.
Worth a visit but don't expect to be blown away.
We went to Tredwells to celebrate an anniversary. Initially we could not decide between the two tasting menus but went for the non vegetarian and the sommelier’s wine choice. It did not disappoint. When we noticed that their was a significant missing ingredient in our second dish they were replaced. The sommelier gave a brief introduction to each wine. The outstanding two dishes was the cheese on a Parkin and the dessert which had an amazing set of strong and contrasting flavours. The hard surfaces of tiles and a full energetic first floor dining room made conversation sometimes a struggle but the tables were well separated. Yes I would go again.
We went here for my husbands birthday for a pre theatre meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the staff could not have been more attentive, would certainly recommend.
Had our ten month old grandson with us and his mum our daughter we were superbly looked after. Just great!!
From the moment you walk in the door you feel the warmth of family, great atmosphere, food and staff
We were there for a pre theatre dinner. We arrived before 6.opm but were served our starter around 6.40pm. The starter of Jersey Royals was very average (bordering on tasteless), the Lamb Chop 'saved the day' but the desserts were also disappointing .
This is not the first time I have visited the restaurant but it will probably be the last.
For a Marcus Wareing restaurant it was a very underwhelming experience (and quite expensive with the wine!)
This would be my second visit in the restaurant and I must say, my friend and I enjoyed ourselves. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The service was not rushed and the food was fantastic. The meal was good value for money. I will definitely visit again.
Food was very disappointing as it lacked any real flavour and pricey too. Real shame as it is a nice place and the service was ok.
My friend and I had the £29 set menu.
The cocktail included in the price was disappointing. A gin and lemon concoction, not particularly pleasant, would have preferred a glass of sparkling wine.
Service was good once we had started the meal but we had to wait about 15 minutes to order and we had to ask someone to come and take our order.
My friend had the venison terrine to start and enjoyed it. I had the new potatoes starter - very boring, just potato.
Our main courses were tasty but did not come with any vegetables at all, just plates of meat.
We both ordered the caramel ice cream for pudding. Neither of us could eat it, it was very sweet and sickly.
We were seated in the basement area - pretty hot and very noisy.
We had a kind of prix fixe which included a cocktail. Some staff were friendly, but a couple were quite disdainful, which is simply unnecessary. The food was good, but served on cold plates which meant that sauces, pureed vegetavbles, etc. congeal and are just not as pleasant.
Food excellent and beautifully presented. Service from Waiters and Sommelier very good. Reception staff initially led us to a table upstairs, then back to the ground floor area - not professional.
Interior decoration not great, ambience is more like a wine bar than restaurant but food very good.
Wow this meal was fantastic! I had the cod starter the lamb main and the ginger cake dessert all complimented perfectly by the delicious complimentary lemon and cardamon cocktail ❤️ My friend has a glass of wine and we ordered one side dish and it was just shy of £40 each which included service.... amazing! We may become regulars 👌
Lovely place. Treated my wife for her birthday. They were very accommodating and explained the menu well. Amazing food and we shared a lovely bottle of wine. Thank you so much
Would definitely recommend Tredwell's! The menu is quite expensive (which is to be expected) but 100% value for money, the food was outstanding and the service was incredible! Cannot wait to go back!
Wonderful food and excellent service.
Staff were wonderful, food was brill, ambience was excellent.. good job team
Perfect in every where. Fantastic food and service. Really good set menus too.
As it was a birthday celebration we opted for the 5-course tasting menu with wines. At £45 plus £32 for the wines it was good value and all the courses were something I would order. We were there for 4 hours rather than the allocated 2 and the staff were very good about it. A great evening.
Really good, took my parents for a treat ok the set menu and the food was great. We arrived at 7 on a Sunday and the restaurant wasn’t very busy, it got busier as the evening went on and the atmosphere and ambience was really good. Our only complaint was that the coffees weren’t as great as they had been when we went before but otherwise we all really had a nice time.
Had lovely long lunch with friends.
The service was lovely and food was excellent. The 3 course lunch deal was good value otherwise it would been on little expensive side.
The ambiance may be bit noisy when the restaurant is very busy.
I would happy eat here again. All in all very pleasant lunch.
Top notch food including the salted caramel/honeycomb desert that i had last time. Ambience ok for family do. Service professional but not v personal/warm.
I’ve been here a few times and it was very average on this visit which is a shame!
Lovely food, staff overly attentive making you feel uncomfortable. Over priced and we didn’t receive our dessert cocktail with our dessert. Lighting was awful, not ambience - no candles on the second floor (first floor lovely!)
Great quality food and drinks and the set menu has a good selection and is very good value. Courteous service and great location for many of London's theaters.
Caution advised when ordering spirits, the standard measure here is a double, as now seems to be trend across many restaurants. I ordered a single measure and got a double but spotted it before drinking. I have been to this restaurant a number of times and this was the first time they got the drinks order wrong and I wouldn't let this error put me off going back. Recommended.
Post theatre dinner with friends, ideal for lots of West End theatres.
Courtesy call the day before to check we were still coming.
All staff very friendly from that call right through to collecting our coats at the end.
Opted for the 3 course set meal which included a cocktail which on that day gin & lime, a gimpty? Very nice.
Cod cheeks were so tasty as were the prawns for starter
Two of our party choose the vegetarian option, it tasted as good as it sounded. And two for the lamb, I was too slow to get a taste but clean bones said it all.
Room for desert, of course, salted caramel ice cream with honeycomb scattered on top was yummy as was the deep fried rum baba with lemon curd in. Had a little taste of those but pear and honey cake was delicious.
Will definitely be visiting again on our next theatre trip
Went for Birthday lunch.
The experience was spot on from start to finish. Very quiet in there mid-week; so an intimate experience which was fine by us.
Great. Food delicious. Quality restaurant.
Excellent food, good atmosphere and good value for money
Excellent nothing more to say
Very nice location
Had a super dinner at Tredwell's before a going to see SIX at the Arts Theatre. Although we had to work quite hard to get the staff's attention, once we did they were very helpful! We only managed 2/3 courses from the prix fixe menu, but they gave us a discount on the bill which was greatly appreciated. Would definitely go back. Lovely food selection and beautiful dishes.
Gosh. This place sucked. Slow service. Poor food... Over salted, over-charred or bitter or cold . Drinks took ages to come. There was nothing good about this place. Manageress, while very nice, didn't seem to have control of her wait staff. We felt like we paid 100 pounds each to dine at zizzi's
Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and attention to detail.
Food was really good, however expected a bit more in terms of quality.
The chouxnut dessert was delicious, stand out dish for me.
