Delicious food & excellent service as usual - see my previous reviews
Great lunch with fantastic food and service
We came to tredwells for a late birthday/wedding treat for my wife, and we had a great time, we came early as it was raining a lot, the front of house were very polite and let us sit at the bar, we enjoyed watching the bar tenders make the cocktails and chatted to them and got there recommendations on drinks, my wife enjoyed the muled wine cocktails quite a lot! The food was amazing too, the steak I had was cooked to perfection, and the salted caramel ice cream was the best I’ve had in a very long time, baring in mind we’ve just came back from Rome on our honeymoon it was praise indeed! All in all it was a amazing night out.
Plant-based (vegan) options are clearly identified on the menu and change regularly but have been consistently delicious over the two years that we’ve been visiting for pre-theatre dining. Very convenient location a few minutes walk from London Coliseum (English National Opera) and several other West End Theatres.
We came here for a birthday celebration and Tredwells fully lived up to expectations ...warm welcome from very friendly staff, nice booth (maybe because they knew we were there for a birthday meal), good cocktails, great food and service, nice atmosphere and for what it delivered, very good value. No hesitation on strongly recommending Tredwells, based on our experience.
Delicious Sunday roast!
Superb food and great value. Staff are also very welcoming.
If not the awful table by the entrance, our night would have been fab ! Delicious food, ok service ❤️
Just great as simple as that nothing more could have been done to make our evening better
They waiter was arrogant he could not speak clearly in English and was rather rude he got our order wrong. The Maire D took over our tables as I asked for our waiter to be removed and she and her assistant were excellent When they did get the right good to us it was excellent The sommelier was very knowledgeable and help full. Had the waiter not have had such a bad attitude towards our table and actually got our order right the first time as you would expect then it would have been a five star rating all over the board but we didn't let it ruin our evening and would highly recommend
Booked the 3-course lunch menu, decent selection available. Food was excellent, savoured every mouthful. Service was attentive. Great central location. Overall very good value and an excellent lunchtime experience.
All staff helpful and charming. Food well presented and tasty. Will return.
Requested a nice table and they gave us one! The interior/decor gives such a lovely ambience and the noise levels were perfect. The food was amazing. We had the 3 course menu and the portions were very reasonably sized and tasted amazing. The pork belly had a bit too much fat for my liking but it depends what you like!
Tredwells is now one of our 'go-to' pre-theatre restaurants. We know we can enjoy a 3 course meal without feeling rushed and still have plenty of time to get to the venue. The special menu with cocktail is extremely good value for money, even with the suggested matching wines.
Good food but was let down by small service issues e.g. pouring tap water into my drink (sparkling water but it could have been gin!) and spilling beer when pouring it into my husband's glass. The reception team was very pleasant
Our second visit to Tredwells and it lived up to the massive expectations set at our first visit. The staff were attentive but discrete and the food just sublime
Great venue for a date night or pre theatre dinner (our two outings so far)
Plan to go onto the al a carte menu next time, though the special offer menu has been fab so far
Wonderful food and a great atmosphere. Looking forward to coming again soon!
Would absolutely recommend the wine pairing - just perfect.
I enjoyed my meal. They were very helpful in informing me about foods I needed to avoid with my intolerances.
Most staff were lovely, our main waiter, though, was grumpy and unfriendly. But that was the only downside, I’d consider returning but I’d probably wait for a better deal.
Delicious food, super amazing service and very convenient location I will definitely be back!
We love Tredwells and it yet again lived up to expectations! Fabulous food and drink and incredible service!
The service was attentive and friendly. For started I had crispy cod cheeks, cauliflower, spelt, cobnut The cod was great and so were the sides but a bit too strong for the delicate cod. For main I had wonderful Gloucestershire pork collar, bacon jam, celeria and my partner had a steak which was done just right and full of flavour. For a desert I have ordered ‘Chouxnut’, peanut, blackcurrant. Personally I would serve it with peanut ice cream to keep the flavours but to give it a bit moist. We would come back.
Lived up to all our expectations as a chef and foody. Lovely place but still with a relaxed atmosphere. Amazing food , we loved every mouthfall. Service was also second to none. Reasonable value for the great standards. Definatly recommend and visit again.
A great experience! Food was tasty with a good balance of flavours. The salty caramel soft serve was just delicious.
It was cold, conceivably vicious air conditioning, the seating was uncomfortable with fixed benches and limited room to manoeuvre for the less than slim. After we declined a second bottle of wine as we would be having desert cocktails, the staff lost interest in us and service became very slow. It wa quite noisy as well. I was unimpressed at 12.5%service charge which I felt was unmerited but I did not want to argue in front of my guests. The food was good but not wow, with the exception of my amazing pud! My dietary issues were . taken care of, which I did appreciate - fab pud!
I have been to Tredwells twice before and loved the food but was a little disappointed this time round. It just wasn't as good as they usually are. I would go back again based on past experience but hope that was just a blip.
Disappointed that first floor restaurant not open for lunch. The value / cost of the special offer menus difficult to calculate and compare against the a la carte menu. Any small saving negated by the prices of the wine list. Food and service excellent.
Good value for money 2 and 3 course menu. Been there twice and will carry on going. Great and tasty food. Service is one of the best.
Excellent food but very noisy so difficult to chat
What stood out was the amazing service. We were greeted like old friends and made to feel very welcome. The exemplary service continued throughout the meal. Wonderful dining experience- would highly recommend
We enjoyed a pre-theatre dinner. We arrived early, the restaurant wasn't even officially quite open but the staff were more than happy to let us sit at the bar. Our meal was lovely and the staff were friendly and knowledgable. The set menu was very good value and we will return to sample the a la carte.
The food was good without being spectacular and the service very professional. However it was very expensive. The tables are far too close together and there was no need to put people on top of each other given it wasn't that busy for an early dinner. A good meal but overpriced and overheard.
Really good food and service but portion sizes are very small
Hugely looking forward to this as we admire Marcus Waring but the food was shocking - it was so bland! I expected flavour and couldn't have been more surprised. A fig pannacotta that didn't taste of fig a prime example. Someone needs to tell Marcus there is a difference between delicate and flavourless. There is is no salt or pepper on the tables - didn't realise there wasn't any in the kitchen either!
Had a fantastic meal at Tredwells, they cater so well for dietary requirements and made me feel really well taken care of. We had the set menu 3 courses and a cocktail for £29 which did end up being quite a lot more due to surcharges and sides being extra - but the food was excellent quality. Was surprised that bread was not included in the cover, but charged at £4 per portion which is a bit steep. Overall a fantastic meal but not a cheap meal out.
Went here for a pre theatre meal. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive.
Food was great with iteresting options. Staff were particularily attentive and friendly. We had the 3 course plus cocktail deal fo £29 but as usual when you add in the normal additions the final bill is way more expensive. Nevertheless still realistic for the quality of the food.
Good restaurant overall and nothing to complain about or to rave about. It's a great place to come for post-theatre for their set menu which is a very good value. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and it was nice and full which always adds to the experience. The only thing that I wanted a bit more of is to have a bit of personality with their service and not just place food on the table. At least introduce yourself and interact with the diners a bit.
Deservedly busy. Good food in smallish portions. Outstandingly welcoming service. Lots of mirrors!
Very good food with attentive staff. Set menu was very varied and the portion sizes very good.
We were all of us looking forward to eating at Tredwells but the OpenTable special menu we saw had Wagyu beef topside and was one of the reasons I booked but it was not on the menu on Saturday. The 2 meat starters went down well, I had the vegetarian starter which was sweetcorn and it came in a warm bowl although the meal was cold so a little odd and rather tasteless. I also had the vegetarian option for the main which was a pancake and tasted very similar to the starter and not one I would recommend. The choughnut puddings were quite hard and the ice cream quite small and ordinary. The service though was exemplary and if only the food had matched it we would be going back again, but at £118 for 3 small courses, 2 non alcoholic cocktails and 1 coke it was, I feel, overpriced.
