The restaurant was great! We went for my sisters birthday and she loved it! The kid drinks were great. The names of the juices are like cocktails but non alcoholic. It’s a perfect combination of good food and good drinks. Overall the restaurant was outstanding. I certainly recommend a visit to this amazing restaurant when you visit London!
We ordered the halal meat which wasn’t available. The chicken was dry
Overall experience was excellent! Food was really good but it was the service and the staff who brought the experience to another level!
Absolutely fine Sunday lunch with very good service and lovely staff but lacked a bit of personality for a Sunday lunch venue. Felt a bit like eating in a hotel restaurant. I might try again during the week but won’t be racing to return.
Such an amazing meal for my friends 21st. Both vegan and huge meat eating fans had great meals. Thank you for a great experience
My second visit to Tredwells and much less enjoyable than the first. My scallop starter was fine but my friends duck raviolo was lacking flavour. We then both had roasted halibut which was unfortunately over cooked and dry. When a waiter asked how we had liked our food I was explaining that the fish was dry. In the middle of my sentence he just turned and walked away. Not the behaviour I would have expected at a restaurant of this level.
Fantastic service. Great food and value. My friends and I were comfortable throughout the whole evening.
Everything was nice, but not special enough to warrant the cost.
Very nice pre theater dinner. We were running late and were served promptly with plenty of time to spare. Good value for 3 courses and a cocktail.
While our server was very good and friendly, the food did not live up to the previous reviews. Food was OK. My steaks did have great flavor but was tough - too bad. Very noisy with a party upstairs echoing throughout the restaurant - hard surfaces. The pictures on opentable do NOT match the main floor - the only floor we saw. While the bar tender and our server did an outstanding job, the food is what a restaurant is all about - and there are too many other restaurants to try before going back to Tredwells.
Excellent as always. My friends really enjoyed the ambiance and every morsel of delicious food.
Beautiful decor, friendly staff, excellent food both in presentation and quality.
Very enjoyable. Great location for the theatre and good value for tasty food and cocktails.
Wonderful meal smashing staff friends birthday staff made a plate of truffles and happy birthday in chocolate small things but so appreciative of thoughtfulness of staff food delicious Carmel ice-cream to die for
enjoyed the 3 course with cocktail set menu .. excellent choice for vegans. Ill definitely come back and try the vegan tasting menu!
Excellent lunch. Attentive but discrete service, delicious beautifully presented food from a imaginative menu. Great ambiance and excellent value for money. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant
This was a return visit to Tredwells but I have to say it was nowhere near as good as our previous experience. The main course was fish which was covered in peanuts and accompanied by broccoli which also had a nut sauce - I can't imagine why the chef thought that peanuts were good with fish - it was not great and also the fish was dry and not well cooked.
We will try this restaurant again in the hope that this was just a bad day - very disappointing.
Did not particularly enjoy my meal. Nothing special either in terms of ambience. Better more fun options in Covent Garden.
Overall the food was lovely but the service wasn’t great. We were seated in the basement and it felt a bit dingy and unwelcoming. We asked to be moved and we were moved to a much better table on the top floor. Whilst the restaurant is attractive I didn’t feel it was cosy. It was frustrating that the set menu did not show allergens and I had to cross reference with the main menu. The wine we ordered was not pleasant. We asked to change this which was not a problem however the waiter did not seem happy about this and we had to apologise a number of times as we felt we offended him. I didn’t feel that this restaurant lived up to my expectations.
First time diners at tredwell's and would definitely recommend. Food was exquisite and cocktails to die for.
Lovely food, wine & service. 3 courses offer was great value
Absolutely superb meal, with excellent recommendations from the wine list. Beth and her team on the upper floor looked after us superbly despite the table next to us being problematic! Food was splendid, good for me on a meat free Lent, and my fiancée was overjoyed with her food.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was excellent. Core meal was good value but any extras seemed to be expensive. Overall a great experience and I will go again when next in London.
Food good, service needs work.
Everything from the service, to the wine & to the food was simply wonderful. Thank you
Had a really nice impromptu late lunch here on Saturday.
We took advantage of the three courses and a cocktail for £29.
I wasn't a huge fan of the rhubarb dessert - I felt that the rhubarb was far too hard but the lamb chop main course made up for it. I also had a very interesting starter of cod cheeks with BBQ and Kimchee.
I would recommend to other diners for sure. The signature cocktail was also very nice!
Lovely restaurant - will definitely visit again. Excellent food and service. Not cheap particularly but value for money.
The food was good, but we felt that staff weren’t very attentive and hung about a select few tables. We strained to get their attention on several occasions to follow up on our main and dessert courses as we were in a hurry (which they were aware of)
Food was well executed as one would expect but what made the difference was that the staff were so charming and helpful.
This was my second visit to Tredwells, and both times the food was sensational and the service very good. The first time I hat the Bavette steak accompanied by truffle mac n cheese. It was hearty and comforting and indulgent. The second time I opted for the plant-based 5-course tasting menu, which was as cleverly crafted as it was delicious.
However, there is such a thing as over-attentive waiting staff, and with 3 servers for our table of two, there were what felt like far too many interruptions on the more recent visit. It was a first date. We were trying to get to know each other but could barely start a conversation before someone came to check if we were ok. We were asked three times, by two waiters, in the space of two minutes if we wanted anything else. (Coffee, etc). In spite of this, we still had to ask twice for the bill.
Nevertheless, we had a very pleasurable evening and I will definitely be returning to Tredwells, but perhaps the staff could try to be a little more observant and a little less keen to please - it’s actually a little bit frustrating!
We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had the 3 course menu with cocktail for £29. Not bad value at all but sides were not included and the cocktails are tiny so you'll need to spend another £20 each on top of the usual menu which I think is quite cheeky.
Anyway, starters and mains were great and we loved the truffle mac n cheese. Let down slightly by the dessert which I think missed the mark slightly. My partner had the chouxnut which was a bit stodgy. I had the rhubarb and cheesecake mousse. It was fine, but I wouldn't really order again.
Service was attentive but the temperature in the restaurant was a little chilly.
Worth a visit but don't expect to be blown away.
We went to Tredwells to celebrate an anniversary. Initially we could not decide between the two tasting menus but went for the non vegetarian and the sommelier’s wine choice. It did not disappoint. When we noticed that their was a significant missing ingredient in our second dish they were replaced. The sommelier gave a brief introduction to each wine. The outstanding two dishes was the cheese on a Parkin and the dessert which had an amazing set of strong and contrasting flavours. The hard surfaces of tiles and a full energetic first floor dining room made conversation sometimes a struggle but the tables were well separated. Yes I would go again.
We went here for my husbands birthday for a pre theatre meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the staff could not have been more attentive, would certainly recommend.
Had our ten month old grandson with us and his mum our daughter we were superbly looked after. Just great!!
From the moment you walk in the door you feel the warmth of family, great atmosphere, food and staff
We were there for a pre theatre dinner. We arrived before 6.opm but were served our starter around 6.40pm. The starter of Jersey Royals was very average (bordering on tasteless), the Lamb Chop 'saved the day' but the desserts were also disappointing .
This is not the first time I have visited the restaurant but it will probably be the last.
For a Marcus Wareing restaurant it was a very underwhelming experience (and quite expensive with the wine!)
This would be my second visit in the restaurant and I must say, my friend and I enjoyed ourselves. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The service was not rushed and the food was fantastic. The meal was good value for money. I will definitely visit again.
Food was very disappointing as it lacked any real flavour and pricey too. Real shame as it is a nice place and the service was ok.
My friend and I had the £29 set menu.
The cocktail included in the price was disappointing. A gin and lemon concoction, not particularly pleasant, would have preferred a glass of sparkling wine.
Service was good once we had started the meal but we had to wait about 15 minutes to order and we had to ask someone to come and take our order.
My friend had the venison terrine to start and enjoyed it. I had the new potatoes starter - very boring, just potato.
Our main courses were tasty but did not come with any vegetables at all, just plates of meat.
We both ordered the caramel ice cream for pudding. Neither of us could eat it, it was very sweet and sickly.
We were seated in the basement area - pretty hot and very noisy.
