Just okay. The smell of the hotel was strong in the restaurant and was like dining with a deodorant in the air. The appetizers were okay. Sweet potato gnocchi very over cooked and the shrimp appetizer were very small shrimp. Veggies on mail meal mushy and over cooked. Not a great experience. Server was nice enough though.
We had the market fish was very nice. Quiet restaurant. Waiter was great.
Thank you for your feedback. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your time with us!
Great food, good service, good value and quiet enough to hold a conversation at a normal volume
Hello Adatema, Thank you so much for giving us your take on how we are doing. We are glad customers like you are having a great experience during their stay!
Set the scene: Raptors Game 5, super busy-
I have eaten here on several occasions. The food is always outstanding. In my opinion, a hidden gem. The manager Sammy was amazing. Although, they were very short staffed. This restaurant isn’t usually over the top busy, so I don’t think they were prepared for being as busy as they were that night.
Over all, I’d return. The food is always excellent!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are so happy to know you enjoyed your experience with us! We will make sure to pass on your feedback to our team. Hope you visit us again soon!
This was the perfect place to end a long-weekend with family for brunch. There were options for everyone's tastes and the atmosphere was bright, cheerful, and quiet. Thanks.
Thank you for reviewing Trios Bistro. We are so happy to hear that we exceeded your expectations.
Good food, atmosphere felt a little like a motel buffet though
Hi Alex, Thank you for taking the time to rate us.
Amazing everything!!! Keep up the good work and will be back for sure!!!
Our waiter David was phenomenal!!!
Thank you for the five-star review!! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us such a fantastic rating and we'll definitely share this feedback with David!
Returned again and had again the market fish, Tuna, which was perfect again. Really enjoy mix of flavours with vegetables and rice cake (different from March). For entree tried the Monforte Chevre Croquettes and I was very happy I did. Delicious with the chutney, very nice alternative to baby spinach, refreshing but lots of baby spinach. Service was great and very fast.
Hello MichelR, Thank you for sharing! We value your loyalty to our business and are happy to hear you've enjoyed your experiences with us. We appreciate your kind words and look forward to seeing you next time.
Third visit to Trios Bistro (from out of town) and very happy about it. Had the market fish, Tuna this time, and very, very happy with choice. This time, rice cake and vegetables, excellent mix of flavours. Baby spinach as entrée, very refreshing, and really like apple cake.
Hi MichelR! We are thankful for your time and your willingness to write a review to let us know how we're doing. It is good to know that our team at Trios Bistro exceeded your expectations and made your experience memorable. It was a pleasure to serve you. Please come back soon!
The service was excellent and the food amazing, not to mention well priced. Perfect place for a pre theatre dinner. The lighting is a bit bright bu you are in an atrium so not much can be done about that! Excellent food, excellent value.
Began with Baby Spinach and Frise salad which was excellent and refreshing. The main course was Market Fish which was halibut today. Perfectly cooked and great mix with risotto and small tomatoes. Excellent dish. The dessert was the Warm Apple steudal cake, very nice mix of different savours.
Other than service n ambience, l would not come back here again. The only good thing about their french toast was the fresh fruits on the side - maple syrup was like the one you get from the grocery store and the toast had no flavor other than the cereal they used to coat it with. Such a waste of money.
Started with interesting Buttercup and yam soup and the main course was Winter Smoked Duck Confit which was very good with nice mix of savours, well cooked duck in a very interesting dish. The dessert, Warm Apple Cake was a great mix of different savours.
Food and service were OK - nothing great, and not enough to bring me back.
Worse, however, was the washroom just outside the restaurant. There was a puddle on floor blocking access to the urinals. And the toilet stall was littered with toilet paper and seat covers. Terrible.
The food is definitely good. I enjoyed my steak and the potato hash was very tasty with pieces of bacon in it. The decor and lighting leave a little to be desired, so it doesn't feel as classy as I expected. But the prices are reasonable and most importantly the food was good.
The New Year's Eve dinner was amazing! Compliments to the Chef and team.
Trios has always been a delightfully surprising experience. Very conveniently located close to the Ed Mirvish Theatre, this restaurant is a great spot for a pre-theatre meal. The service here is incredible, and very friendly. The new menu is excellent, and we especially loved the new appetizers. One of our favorite restaurants in Toronto. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious! Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable. The restaurant was quiet enough for easy conversation between guests.
Love Trios! Our go-to for a good meal, and we are always treated like welcomed guests by the team.
We enjoyed two seafood entrees at dinner -both were perfectly cooked and flavorful.
We were hesitant eating in a hotel restaurant but we were treated to some of the best food I have had the pleasure of downtown. The calamari (sous vide method) the flatbread and the halibut were over the top!
Wait staff were friendly and not pushy, five stars!
We shared a bunch of appetizers and salads for our meals.
So surprised. We book this venue in advance to ensure we have a good restaurant to dine at. We arrive and they have a large group of seniors that are being given a presentation over a microphone. We ask our sever how long this is going to be? He says 1-1.5 hours and they will be done. We got up and left and then needed to find a restaurant close by. Are they that desperate to fill thier tables that they blow off everyone else for a large group! Never again!
For a pre-theatre dinner Trios Bistro is a favorite of ours, and it always excels - especially in the quality of the service. It's the staff that make all the difference. They invariably take the extra effort to make you feel like you're an honored guest. Our server Johnson was incredibly attentive. One of our party mentioned that he was considering a special drink, and a few minutes later it magically appeared, delivered with a sense of humor.
The menu had changed since our last visit, but many of our old favorites are still present. The signature crab cakes are the best that I've had anywhere and are highly recommended. The flatbreads with the ricotta dip are a nice treat too. And the cod and chips are outstanding - even better than the fish and chips that was on the prior menu.
Toronto has no shortage of great restaurants in this area, yet we find ourselves returning to this restaurant time and again. It's all because of the great experience.
It was good !
Good shareable. Waiter was good.
Excellent service and a quiet place (partially carpeted), very centrally located in the downtown core. Prices comparable to many a crowded, noisy cafe with twice as many tables crammed into the same amount of space. Inventive, something for everyone menu.
Food great, service excellent and quiet.
Food was outstanding - everything we ordered was perfect, tasty, and fresh. Beer choices were great and our server was attentive and awesome. This is in the Marriott hotel - we we’re going to leave but OpenTable helped us make the choice of staying. You can tell that whoever was back there in the kitchen had pride in what they were serving. Nicely done.
It was my first time at Trios Bistro. I generally find hotel restaurants to be of a high quality and enjoyable to dine at, so I came here with my husband to celebrate a belated birthday. I made the reservation on OpenTable for 7:30 PM, and arrived a few minutes early. We were escorted to a table almost immediately (to my surprise, the waiter did not ask or check for a reservation on file - I suppose it's because most tables were empty/free).
The waiter that attended to us during our stay was very professional yet warm, and also efficient. He was able to make a couple of recommendations about the menu, which I appreciated. Some parts of our meal were delicious, especially the crab cakes (came piping hot and flavourful) and the bison steak (unique choice and done well). The presentation of the food was either very attractive (as with the flourless chocolate cake) or just average (our entrees), depending on what was ordered.
We were seated in a booth that faced the "entrance" of the restaurant and the bar. I was surprised by how small the restaurant was - it was basically an area sectioned off on the main foyer, and not a separate, enclosed dining room. I found the environment cozy, with dim lighting, a scattering of tables and chairs in the middle of the restaurant and booth seats surrounding that layout. However, very few patrons were there, and so the ambiance seemed kind of "drab" for a high-end hotel restaurant.
I did specify "birthday" as the special occasion on the OpenTable booking as I was prompted on the online form, but the staff at the establishment did not allude to this annotation nor did they say/do anything special (not sure if the restaurant actually received this information or planned on doing anything with it?).
Service was alright, one particular server was a little rude with seating. I made a reservation but still got a table right next to the entrance. We requested to move to a different table and were taken to a really dark area next to the emergency exit. He however later made it up for us with better service. Food was worth it.
This place remains open on Christmas Day, which is its largest edge. Food was alright.
Only serve breakfast at 11 am even though online menu shows lunch options.
Excellent food and phenomenal service! Quiet enough to enjoy conversation.
Must try the crab cakes.
Went for dinner after the theatre. We were greeted by someone who tried a little too hard to be overly friendly. Great waiter. I had inquired about the soup, and he brought be a little bowl to try. So sweet. Awesome crabcakes. Ordered some flatbreads. On the menu, it did not say there was proscuitto on it. I'm a vegetarian, so they brought another order, minus the meat. Very accommodating.
The staff were excellent and helped us make a terrific selection for our dinner. The serving staff was very helpful and personable and ensured our meal experience was memorable. It was an experience we look forward to repeating soon.
Disappointing - fish and chips was over-cooked and the batter way too heavy and burnt. Would not go there again.
Great find! The food was excellent and the service was first class. I don't understand why there aren't more people eating here. The duck special was one of the most unique and tasty meals I have ever had. The appetizers were large, beautifully presented and very tasty as well. The room is very open and finally decorated and the wait staff was very attentive.
The place was empty. On a long weekend Friday. Which is odd downtown Toronto. But the staff was attentive and the food was good. I kept wondering if everyone knew something I didn't. But overall, I would go back.
The service was excellent. The ambience was perfect for the special occasion.
Trios Bistro is one of our favorite restaurants. The staff always makes us feel warmly welcomed, and the service is absolutely outstanding! The food is consistently great.
They currently have a Canada 150 menu, and it's excellent. The compressed watermelon with feta is a really great, light appetizer. The mains are also excellent. But the blueberry crumble with praline ice cream is unbelievably fantastic!
