Troia Bar & Restaurant
Sunday: 12pm - 10:30pm
A lively slightly noisy atmosphere. Reminded me of a school dining hall. However, the food was excellent and the staff worked very hard to ensure we were well looked after during a busy Saturday evening.
Great food and service. Always a pleasure eating here
Lovely welcome in a great location just behind County Hall, near Westminster. Had the Mixed Meze and some extra dishes between three of us. All were prepared nicely. Good place for lunch or dinner.
I really enjoyed the place. Great food with a good selection. The service was ok and it was rather expensive but it is right by the London Eye so you expect that.
Fantastic meal overall. On arrival we were made to feel welcome. Outdoor heater was put on to allow us to sit outside and eat, which was great for my daughter. Good advice was offered on menu choices to stop us overspending which we really appreciated. My partner and I had the meat meze and then shared a kebab. Perfect and all dishes were lovely. All in all a great evening. Only 4 stars as cleanliness of toilets does let it down. Would definitely visit again.
Food is fine, ambience is reasonable but the waiter with the beret with his "luvverly ladees" shtick was not only irritating, but patronising and sexist. His attempts to entertain were annoying and intrusive. This group of professional women did not appreciate being treated like giggly teenagers.
Also, please do not allow customers to smoke on the terrace - it is extremely unpleasant when you are eating. We had planned to order dessert but left early for this reason.
Lovely food before going to watch a play at County Hall. Great location.
Very pricey for the quantity, very slow service and waiters and noisy
Great menu with very tasty food, very well prepared.
We went with 2 children under 3, plus prams. The kids were being very noisy but the staff were amazingly accommodating and helpful! Thank you!
Cheap and cheerful taverna style - with nice outdoor seating, so perfect for warmer evening. Service was very attentive and the food was good quality. Lovely mezze. Would definitely visit again
Food was good but the it was all a bit noisy and a bit chaotic - okay for tourists I guess
Trioa is just an ok restaurant. There is nothing special about the food, ambiance or service. In fact, as we sat down we waited 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. A server did seat us, but then proceeded to walk around and not acknowledge us. This is large restaurant and it was not busy, so there is no excuse for the poor service. The food is just ok, this is in a touristy area, I guess they can get by with just ok food. The worst part of this restaurant though, is the seat, it's absolutely horrible in every aspect of the way. How can they have these low sitting chairs, we had a senior with us and it was hard for him to sit down and then get up, the chairs actually contributed to the way we felt about the restaurant. Get new chairs, they add nothing to your ambiance!
Menu was quite different from website: less choice and more expensive. Quite a pushy waiter, kept pestering us to order. Food quality was good, but pricey (website menu was more extensive and far cheaper). Felt like a con!
The food was average at best, over-priced and the service was slow and inattentive.
All in all a bit of a basic, day-to-day place.
Decor is beautiful and staff are friendly, but once you've placed your first order (drinks and food) it is very slow.
We waited 30 minutes after finishing to get a waiter's attention, then did not have time to order dessert so had to ask for the bill.
The food was okay - wasn't blown away by it, but does the trick and almost reasonably priced.
Staff were nice and accommodating. Food unfortunately not that good. My friend had moussaka and enjoyed it I had a lamb mince kebab which wasn’t good quality- quite dry.
Very friendly service, good food and wine. Thoroughly recommended.
Good food and service. Reasonable ambiance. I feel the restrooms need a revamp.
Great location with tasty food
Booked this restaurant for our trip to London based on the varied menu. We were not disappointed, lovely food, very friendly staff (particularly Mario!). We initially planned to move on after food but ended up staying on for several drinks as it was such a lovely atmosphere with the outdoor seating. Would highly recommend.
Great Mezze. We had a mezze platter to share, eleven different dishes served with some bread. Nice, tasteful and varied dishes like: tzatziki, humus, tabouleh, kofte, borek, lamb casserole, and some more. You can ask for more bread, if you wish. Good wine, friendly personnel and reasonable prices.
Very good value food in central London. I had the London Meze set menu, and was very impressed by the value and quality of the food. The restaurant furniture looks a little dated, and the light above us was flickering throughout the meal, meaning this is probably not a place to take someone you want to impress, but it’s perfect for a casual dinner out with friends when you don’t want to break the bank.
Great food with great service and the noise level was great for husband who has hearing aides.
There is nothing else to say only that the place, food and staff are outstanding!
Fantastic pretty restaurant , lovely staff and a great atmosphere.
Very friendly, good menu choice, meze fantastic, we dined at lunch time couldn't help but notice that 'fish & chips' was a very popular dish, have to say it looked great. Will certainly return to Troia.
Has always been a favourite ..wth the quirky waiters and fab food - what's not to love!
The food was wonderful but sadly our waiter let the whole restaurant down. He was incredibly rude and condescending to myself and my female friends. This was the second time we had been there and won’t be going again.
A fabulous find off the beaten track - very good value for authentic Turkish food. We had great service and all the staff were very friendly.
This was my second visit to Troia, this time to meet my daughter from University in Reading on our way to Wembley Stadium. We had a lovely cool table inside (it was really hot outside!) and enjoyed some ice cold beers and cider before eating. The food was extremely tasty and great portions and the service was friendly and attentive. The whole experience was as excellent as it was the first time. I will definitely be back and have already recommended Troia to friends and relatives.
Quick service but food not a great standard. Very touristy - lots of people eating fish and chips. Probably a good place to go out after clubbing/pubbing at night.
I love Greek / Turkish / Cypriot food - the menu offered an excellent and varied selection.
We arrived early evening (6pm) and were shown to our (reserved) table.
Two things to note: this restaurant is up a few steps at the front so has no wheelchair access. I am a wheelchair user, was aware and am able to manage a few steps. My folding manual wheelchair was safely stowed. Secondly, the seats are VERY low and the design of the table (central pedestal) means that it is quite awkward to find space for ones legs and the low seats are quite uncomfortable after a while.
That apart, the food was really lovely - I had a lamb kebab with salad and rice. I asked for some tzatziki and a portion was provided at no additional cost. The lamb was tender, succulent and well flavoured. We had a baklava and ice cream to share (3 x pieces of baklava and a scoop of vanilla ice cream).
We will visit again, the uncomfortable seating was made up for by the lovely food!!
Afraid I can't recommend this restaurant at all. Realised there was something not quite right about it as soon as I entered. A bad smell seemed to linger everywhere. The waiters looked unkempt and not particularly interested. We were taken to our reserved table which seemed OK. However, once seated and having ordered, a large family with four noisy young boys were placed at the very next table thus making for a very unpleasant experience.
The food itself was nondescript to say the least and we really regretted not having chosen a better restaurant. We ended up leaving in a hurry with the meal unfinished. Definitely would not return.
Great venue near Waterloo. Met some friends and had a great meal. The staff were amazing - friendly, funny, helpful. Will definitely return and definitely recommend.
Very tasting food and great value. We quite liked the decor, it was 'old style Turkish' that had real atmosphere, but were told it will be renovated soon to be more modern. Think currently it has charm. Seats are very traditionally low, which takes a bit to get used to, but a great, tasty, dining experience that didn't cost a lot.
This is my go to place in Waterloo...Love the food. They are incredibly busy and so getting served is a bit of a challenge...i had to keep waving for a while before i caught someone's attention.
If it weren't for the awesome food, the speed of service might become an issue. But as of now , the quality of the food more than makes up for it
Great find near The London eye. Good menu and fantastic meze-really tasty food. Good Turkish wine too reasonably priced
Very attentive service, good food - we had the London Meze, it was very good and plenty of food for two people.
