Troia Bar & Restaurant
Monday - Saturday: 12pm - 11:30pm
Sunday: 12pm - 10:30pm
Booked this restaurant for our trip to London based on the varied menu. We were not disappointed, lovely food, very friendly staff (particularly Mario!). We initially planned to move on after food but ended up staying on for several drinks as it was such a lovely atmosphere with the outdoor seating. Would highly recommend.
Great Mezze. We had a mezze platter to share, eleven different dishes served with some bread. Nice, tasteful and varied dishes like: tzatziki, humus, tabouleh, kofte, borek, lamb casserole, and some more. You can ask for more bread, if you wish. Good wine, friendly personnel and reasonable prices.
Very good value food in central London. I had the London Meze set menu, and was very impressed by the value and quality of the food. The restaurant furniture looks a little dated, and the light above us was flickering throughout the meal, meaning this is probably not a place to take someone you want to impress, but it’s perfect for a casual dinner out with friends when you don’t want to break the bank.
Great food with great service and the noise level was great for husband who has hearing aides.
There is nothing else to say only that the place, food and staff are outstanding!
Fantastic pretty restaurant , lovely staff and a great atmosphere.
Very friendly, good menu choice, meze fantastic, we dined at lunch time couldn't help but notice that 'fish & chips' was a very popular dish, have to say it looked great. Will certainly return to Troia.
Has always been a favourite ..wth the quirky waiters and fab food - what's not to love!
The food was wonderful but sadly our waiter let the whole restaurant down. He was incredibly rude and condescending to myself and my female friends. This was the second time we had been there and won’t be going again.
A fabulous find off the beaten track - very good value for authentic Turkish food. We had great service and all the staff were very friendly.
This was my second visit to Troia, this time to meet my daughter from University in Reading on our way to Wembley Stadium. We had a lovely cool table inside (it was really hot outside!) and enjoyed some ice cold beers and cider before eating. The food was extremely tasty and great portions and the service was friendly and attentive. The whole experience was as excellent as it was the first time. I will definitely be back and have already recommended Troia to friends and relatives.
Quick service but food not a great standard. Very touristy - lots of people eating fish and chips. Probably a good place to go out after clubbing/pubbing at night.
I love Greek / Turkish / Cypriot food - the menu offered an excellent and varied selection.
We arrived early evening (6pm) and were shown to our (reserved) table.
Two things to note: this restaurant is up a few steps at the front so has no wheelchair access. I am a wheelchair user, was aware and am able to manage a few steps. My folding manual wheelchair was safely stowed. Secondly, the seats are VERY low and the design of the table (central pedestal) means that it is quite awkward to find space for ones legs and the low seats are quite uncomfortable after a while.
That apart, the food was really lovely - I had a lamb kebab with salad and rice. I asked for some tzatziki and a portion was provided at no additional cost. The lamb was tender, succulent and well flavoured. We had a baklava and ice cream to share (3 x pieces of baklava and a scoop of vanilla ice cream).
We will visit again, the uncomfortable seating was made up for by the lovely food!!
Afraid I can't recommend this restaurant at all. Realised there was something not quite right about it as soon as I entered. A bad smell seemed to linger everywhere. The waiters looked unkempt and not particularly interested. We were taken to our reserved table which seemed OK. However, once seated and having ordered, a large family with four noisy young boys were placed at the very next table thus making for a very unpleasant experience.
The food itself was nondescript to say the least and we really regretted not having chosen a better restaurant. We ended up leaving in a hurry with the meal unfinished. Definitely would not return.
Great venue near Waterloo. Met some friends and had a great meal. The staff were amazing - friendly, funny, helpful. Will definitely return and definitely recommend.
Very tasting food and great value. We quite liked the decor, it was 'old style Turkish' that had real atmosphere, but were told it will be renovated soon to be more modern. Think currently it has charm. Seats are very traditionally low, which takes a bit to get used to, but a great, tasty, dining experience that didn't cost a lot.
This is my go to place in Waterloo...Love the food. They are incredibly busy and so getting served is a bit of a challenge...i had to keep waving for a while before i caught someone's attention.
If it weren't for the awesome food, the speed of service might become an issue. But as of now , the quality of the food more than makes up for it
Great find near The London eye. Good menu and fantastic meze-really tasty food. Good Turkish wine too reasonably priced
Very attentive service, good food - we had the London Meze, it was very good and plenty of food for two people.
Troia is a restaurant for tourists in southbank. The Place is noisy and busy, the service was slow and the servers not particularly nice or polite despite we waited 45 min for our main. 35£ per head for a starter and a main in certainly not good value for money despite the location!
As a restuarant, it has a nice decor and is laid out well, we didn't feel cramped or squeezed in. The food was good, but a bit expensive really, I know it's central London but I had the adana Kofte and it cost £16 - it came with a small salad and not much rice - but I must say the kofte was excellent! ....And £5 for a 330ml beer is a bit much - £10 a pint!
The main thing that let this place down was the staff - not very friendly at all, I don't think I saw any of them smile . They were very quite surly and looked a bit fed up to be there to be honest. My friend asked about one of the meals, and the guy just read out from the menu, and did not attempt to explain how it was cooked etc - she could read the menu herself! When we asked for the bill the guy went off to get it, and got distracted by another customer, and then completely forgot about us, we had to ask again! - not normally a major problem but one of our party did need to get away to catch a train.
I actually don't think I'd go back, I've eaten in many Turkish restaurants and have always been made to feel very welcome by good, friendly, attentive staff - this lot made it clear that they were just there to take your money.
Another excellent meal. It s very friendly place and we eat there when we are in the area
Food excellent and possibly one of the best Turkish Grill We have been
The ambiance is very casual and need to be improved
A smile with the service will go a long way and complement the super quality food
Friendly, cosy restaurant. Prompt, efficient service. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was of good standard and tasty. Good selection of dishes. Would visit again.
Came for a pre-theatre meal before a show at County Hall. Perfect location on the Southbank slightly off the beaten track, great food, service and ambience and a good find. They made sure we got our food with plenty of time before the show. We had the mezze which was very tasty and filling, and nice to try a variety of food. Someone else had the chicken shish with rice & salad, which she said was also very good. Was a little dubious about returning after some years after reading some reviews, but there was nothing to worry about.
Troia Bar & Restaurant in Belvedere Road was an excellent choice for a pre-theatre meal in a relaxed atmosphere with attentive service, great menu and excellent food.
I keep coming back here, it is so good. Straightforward, simple, well cooked. Not trying to be fancy, just doing the basdics right at a good price with good staff. I went on the anniversary of the terrorist attack on Westminster and remembered this place had stayed open all day to provide refreshments to the emergency services. Good for them
Nice place, lovely food and great service . Will return next year
This is the second time we've been to this restaurant on visits to London. The food is freshly prepared, the staff friendly and the restaurant has a nice middle eastern style atmosphere. I had spicy lamb casserole which was very good. Definitely worth a visit.
Some ingredients in my dish were clearly Asian and not Turkish/Mediterranean. Not what I came for.
Very friendly service throughout our meal. Nice mezze with a lot of vegetarian possibilities, and good (lager style) beer. Two minor issues - there was quite a cold draft where we were sitting, and the menu was an "express" menu, not the one we had found on the web - apparently there will soon be a new full menu, which might have a little additional choice. But the servers were very willing to ask the chef for anything we liked, even if not on the menu. Would definitely go again, for a simple and cheerful mezze served with a smile.
Great fish stew - healthy and very good portion. And all dishes served quickly as pre theatre meal. Would definitely go again to try something else.
Really good Meze at a very affordable price. Staff were very accommodating and quick without making us feel rushed. Very efficient and friendly.
Really nice selection of Mediterranean dishes. Good service, very well done.
Booked for a pre-theatre meal. Service was friendly and good fun. Food nicely cooked. Wine reasonable.
Food was delicious and the waiters could not do enough for us, even serving us dishes which were in a previous menu but not on that day! They were friendly and helpful and ensured we always had enough bread and wine!
Very enjoyable food at reasonable prices. Service was attentive and fast.
Ideal for pre theatre meal.
We had a pre-theatre meal. Ordered two mezes (one veggie) for two each and a single main for the fifth person. The food was tasty though obviously reheated ready - as one would expect from the rapid service. There would have been enough for 5 without the extra main, but actually that veggie moussaka was the best! The wine was forgettable but OK with the spicy meal. So overall a good meal. The waiters were attentive and helpful.
Staff are friendly and attentive. Food was ok but nothing too exciting. Handy for County Hall across the road. Good Turkish coffee!
Good service and lovely food!
