A standby for lunch or dinner when visiting Seattle Center, whether for sports, theatre, or the opera. Good food, pleasant atmosphere - whether you want to sit at the bar or back in a quieter corner.

It's probably my fault I thought this was a restaurant but it turned out to be a tavern. Not exactly what I had on mind. Service was good but the food choices was limited. The Guinness was cold and perfectly poured.

I chose TSMcHs as it was close to the hotel we were staying at in Seattle. The menu was reasonably good with typical pub fare and we had burgers which were tasty. We didn't get an opportunity to have the one dessert available as we were tied for time.

There is nothing to recommend this place except a good selection of IPAs which the servers have zero knowledge about. Barely acceptable food, seats where the padding has worn away to nothing, and incredibly slow service. No wonder a formerly-bustling pub is nearly empty on a Friday night.

My shepherds pie was pretty bad. I never like having to dig a hunk of fat and grizzle out of my mouth. And the green beans were atrocious. My wife did enjoy her guiness pie however.

We have come to T.S. McHugh's for years and we are sad about some menu changes. We are an older couple but be really enjoyed the previous menu of Irish dishes and varied dinner options. The food we ate was very tasty but the classic entree selections are very limited now and it is mostly burgers and other bar food. We wish more of the traditional dishes such as the Dingle Pie and the Ploughman's Platter were still offered.

We were disappointed. The food came out incorrectly on one and the other, a Ruben was totally disappointing. I couldn’t even tell it was corn beef. It was good but it didn’t come out as ordered. One waiter seemed a bit annoyed that we were seated where we were and he had to clean table. Overall it just was not a great experience. The food was just okay. It may have been better had it come with the adjustments we asked for. Our waitress was great.

Thought this would be a convenient place to get a quick meal before an event at McCaw Hall. Made a reservation just to be sure. But when we showed up at 6:15 PM, a sign said sit anywhere and inform the bartender. This was obviously because there were less than a dozen parties in the place. We chose a quiet table and a server brought menus and water before we could even sit down. That was the best service we got for the next hour.
It took at least ten minutes before he came back to get our order. He sensed that we were in a hurry and warned me away from the chicken pot pit, which "could take 15-20 minutes to prepare". As we waited for the next 30+ minutes before our sandwiches were brought out, we watched this one waiter flit from table to table trying to keep up with things. Occasionally, the bartender also helped out. A nearby table finally got their food (we overheard their remarks about the slow service, too). We waited and steamed, watching the time for our show start pressing upon us.
Finally, the food came. Right then, we asked for the check to be brought. At least this was taken care of quickly.
The food was was about as expected, based on the decor. Meh. Crispy chicken sandwich and 'Irish' Reuben were adequate. The salads were fresh but unspectacular. The tables are all covered in red-checked vinyl tablecloths that weren't exactly dirty. But the whole place is in need of a refresh. We were simply glad to finally get out of there and make it to our show and get to our seats with just a few minutes to spare.
This might be OK as a neighborhood pub. I don't recommend it if you are looking for quick service or really good food.

This is another Irish pub that is not able to serve a decent Irish stew. The stew had carrots added to it that were still crunchy. The meat had not stewed long enough because it was still chewy. If it was not for the beer, the dinner would have been a bust.

When you walk in the door, there is a sign at the check-in desk that says something like sit anywhere and let your server know. This was confusing as we had reservations. When I asked about our reservation, the host says he didn't see our reservation. When I told him we made it on Open Table, he brushed it off with an, "oh." There were plenty of tables open so I could see that it wasn't going to be a problem. On the way to our "reserved" table, I noticed this place was 2/3 bar with some seating area pushed off to the right side that is the "restaurant" seating area as you enter. Once seated, I was observed the establishment and checked out the menu. The menu on Open Table for this place was nothing like the menu in front of me. I could clearly see that the menu had "pub food" and clearly wasn't the restaurant menu that I read about on Open Table. My husband and I were tight on our plans for that evening and didn't have time to try to find a another place to eat so we relucantly decided to take a chance with there food. I ordered fish and chips, which were touted to be one of there menu items they are known for. It was blah. Considering we are in Seattle, I expected to be blown away. The fish was simply breaded with some french fries that were cold. My husband ordered another item that was supposed to be unique for this place, the shepard pie. When we say this item was overly salted is an understatement. The good under the mashed potatoes was unrecognizable and looked and smelled more like something you would plop out of a Dollar Store can of dog food. The beans that accompanied the shepard pie we're soggy and bland... Not sure how you can mess up beans but, here you go. The server was more interested in my husband's bar needs as just to choke down this food, had to order a couple more beers to try to get rid of the after taste. This place is NOT a restaurant with a bar.... It is a bar that serves bar food

We have eaten here numerous times over the years before concerts, plays or other performances at the Seattle Center. This time the waiter seemed in a hurry and didn't write down our order. After waiting over 20 minutes for our chicken pie and Steak and Guinness pie we were ready for a good if not great dinner ( a note -- these pies are poor substitutes for the real thing you would get in a London grub pub, but better than many sold in the U.S. in much glitzier restaurants). When the pies arrived and we had a chance to allow them to cool enough to eat, we discovered that we were served two chicken pies. In fairness, the waiter comped us for the second pie, but I have to state the experience leads me to crossing this place off the list.

Sunday brunch before opera: we were the only patrons at 11:30, when they opened. Waitstaff very nice. Generous portions on salads and sandwiches. Quiet since it is a bar and it was noon. Prices very reasonable. Food average bar food except for the large portions.

We were looking for cool place before a laser show at Pacific Science Center and after reading reviews and looking at menu we made reservations here. The place was completely empty on a Sunday night (this was between Xmas and New Year which might be reason. We found out the menus online are not the current ones, the server told us they are under "renewal", so they went to a more limited pub-fare menu. None of what we were looking for except the pot-pies were on the menu. We asked for our salads before our take-long-time pot pies and they arrived with our mains 15-20 minutes later. I got the house salad: do not order this. It was basic wilting lettuce and a couple of extra vegetables. The caesar salad my wife got was just ok. The pot-pie was good but not great. I really hope that they get their act together again.

The food was excellent, as usual. The waiter had a tough time getting our order right. He did not get the order correct on our pot pie selections, meaning one member of our party would have had to wait an additional 20-25 minutes for the kitchen to bring his shepherds pie to replace the incorrectly ordered chicken pie. So we told him not to bring a replacement
To the waiter’s credit, he surprised us with the replacement pie, but we were already finishing up by the time it arrived.

I hadn't eaten here in over two years so thought I'd try again. My Cobb Salad was terrific! Made with excellent interesting lettuces (mostly romaine), and generous with avocado, chicken & blue cheese sprinkles. My husband's Reuben wasn't the best ever but was "more than decent". His came with very good thin and crispy fries, perfectly salted. The service was firendly, efficient and just right before a show. We'll be back!

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. We made a 6pm reservation through Open Table, prior to attending the Andrea Bocelli concert. When we showed up we were told it would be a few minutes. Then as other people were seated, the host apologized saying he had given our table to some walk-ins. When we were finally seated the table service was awful. The waiter pushed one particular beer, which I ordered. He then came back to say they were out. Then I ordered fish and chips. Five minutes later the waiter came back to say they were out. In fact, they were out of a lot of things, as we discovered when we tried alternate orders. Finally our food was delivered and it was the wrong order. The waiter was surly throughout. And, we were far from the only people complaining. The couple next to us waited 20 minutes for their order (placed at the same time as ours and the exact same order). Meanwhile others around were being served who ordered after them. When we left and I asked the waiter when the couple next to us would be served, he snapped, "It's taking longer because they asked for the dressing on the side." First, that wasn't true, but having dressing on the side delays a meal by 20 minutes? Will not return and can not recommend this to anyone for any reason.

This is one of the nice options around Seattle Center. Try the pot pies or the Reuben. I also like the fish and chips.

For dessert, the Bailey's pie is a delight. I hope this place can hang on until the sports teams come back to the Center. I'd sure miss it if it didn't!

T. S. McHugh's is much different than other Seattle Center options as it's the only Irish restaurant around, that I know of. They have many Irish menu items which are very good, but have lots of other options that are very good; the salmon meal my friend ordered was delicious and I usually order the Ploughman's Platter which is quite large so I usually take some home for snacking the next day. Their Irish soda bread is hearty and delicious. It's a little dark inside and quite noisy near the bar and around to the back by the fireplace, but there are tables off to the side which are more quiet. The service was attentive without hovering.
