Had great safety and hygiene precautions in place for the current pandemic. Staff were polite and the service was quick and efficient. Food was lovely!
First time eating here and wasn't disappointed. I've eaten at many places in Japan and quite frankly the food at Tsunami could easily stand up alongside some of the best the food I've eaten there
Amazing how long this place has been going, and maintaining pretty consistent standards too! Outside tables a good place to watch the world go by.
Lovely place and really nice food. The only things that were kind of annoying was after our meal we were left for about an hour with no offer of dessert or the bill, it was only because we were chatting so much that we didn't notice as much. And we were sitting outside and people kept coming up to us asking for money while we were eating which wasn't the most pleasant thing.
We had a delicious dinner at Tsunami in Clapham. Presentation of the food was beautiful and the staff were friendly. We did have to wait quite a while to be served and then the beer we ordered didn't turn up but given how busy they were and the new systems in place we can understand!
We were seated quickly and efficiently, and presented with our crockery and cutlery in individual wallets.
On the table was a QR code with a link to the menu. Ordering was still done the old fashioned way via wait staff.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and made sure we’d ordered enough food but not too much. They recommended some other dishes based on our order as well which was really helpful.
The ambience was slightly subdued but that should be expected during these COVID days.
The value was really good for the quality of ingredients, and we all left feeling satisfied.
I would recommend Tsunami and look forward To my next visit
Great food, not the cheapest but the tastiest I’ve had in a while. Can’t wait to go back
Wonderful food and lovely atmosphere. They had re-arranged the restaurant to give everyone plenty of space and made several changes to ensure everyone is safe during lockdown.
The food came quickly and was delicious, highly recommend the pork belly.
Would definitely recommend!
Outstanding food- really enjoyed. The pork belly was especially amazing
Amazing food, service and ambiance. 100% recommend the Dynamite Beef!
Was recommended by one of my friends and was super convenient as it’s just round the corner from me so thought I’d go with my boyfriend and it didn’t disappoint! Was our first meal out in months thanks to lockdown, and the food was amazziiinngg. Yes it’s not the cheapest restaurant you’ll go to but the quality was worth it. My friend recommended the truffle beef which was one of the more expensive items but I’m so glad I had it - the FLAVOUR 😍 and we also got the grilled scallops (which come in a flaming shell) and the flavour of the sauuccee there - divine. Also they do a banging espresso martini. Oh and all the staff were super super polite and friendly, and credit to them for having to wear masks and gloves for ridiculously long hours - thank you all! ❤️
Quality is always top.
Top dishes: kataifi prawns and sashimi.
Unfortunately, it is even more pricey than before.
Sushi was ok, mains were average at best. Disappointed the restaurant is not passing on the reduced VAT to customers and they have increased their prices, taking advantage of customers. There are better local restaurants to support.
Amazing experience again with great food. We had a table outside so we felt safe and cared for although it was our first restaurant experience since pre-lockdown. The evening was great - it reminded us why this was our favourite establishment to celebrate or simply enjoy sushi. The cocktails are outstanding too. Highly recommend
Friendly staff and felt very safe. Lots of new measures in place to make it a safe but also a pleasant dining experience. Food lovely.
Great place one of our faves love the food and the staff was fab
First time there and it was a very good experience. Everything was perfect. A good neighbourood restaurant that need to be known !
The fish had an excellent quality, good flavours in the plate.
The best dish: chicken gyozas were outstanding
Great service and food! The volcano sushi was excellent
Have been here many times. This was first time under social distancing measures and the staff made it seem like second nature. Definitely reflects the restaurant's commitment to its staff and clients. As usual the friendly staff and delicious food made me happy to be able to dine here again.
Lovely place and amazing customer service. Food was also good.
Great service. Expensive but worth it. Volcano roll is amazing!! Quiet but expected with social distancing rules.
Fantastic good food, good service, lovely restaurant. It is always a pleasure
So happy Tsunami is open once again as love the food. They’ve spent a lot of effort on social distancing measures so I felt very safe. Only negative was there was a very noisy table so shame the manager didn’t ask them to be quiet.
Great food and service. Made to feel safe, cutlery was wrapped up and menu is online.
Great food, lovely experience. We really enjoyed our meal and look forward to going back again.
Francisco has been really warm and welcoming with us from the first moment we have arrived. Nice touch the QR code menu (glad I didn’t touch someone else’s menu).
All the staff wearing branded masks, alcohol gel all around the restaurant, warning signals, but privacy in tables keeping and feeling same environment as before. I’m really glad we booked here, really safe place, brilliant service and amazing food. Perfect dinner. We will repeat for sure, given the situation, there are not so many places caring about their team and their customers. Greatly surprised.
Amazing food, always consistent, probably the best espresso martini I’ve ever had!
Lovely evening celebrating daughter's birthday--everyone was super-welcoming and food was delicious. My daughter was very excited about her dessert with sparklers on it.
Some of the dishes were the best we've tasted anywhere and the drinks were outstanding too. Excellent restaurant
Hidden gem in Clapham.
Love this place but service was pretty slow and it wasn’t very busy.
The food was great always good in there but the service is shocking on a Saturday night to only have 2 waiters actively on the floor meant everything was so slow. It wasn’t even that busy in there. What seem to be the manager was trying to serve people while wearing a hat and trainers not the dress code for management just a bit in loved by staff food great
We have been to Tsunami multiple times and the service is always outstanding. The food then trumps the service (especially my favourite, the truffle beef), and the Resturant just oozes quality. Definitely recommend to anyone who hasn’t been before.
2nd time dining in Tsunami and will go again.Lively restaurant(we were there on a Friday night) and every table seemed to be taken.Staff were excellent(and very busy).Good varied menu which should suit all tastes and you can get a bottle of wine at a fairly reasonable price(£27 for Cabernet Sauvignon).Particular food favourites were Seaweed salad , mixed tempura Teriyaki Chicken and Duck breast.
I’ve been before but I wanted my friend to try it.
The food was good but due to the service it took a long time to receive it.
Also the wine options weren’t great.
My Thai Ginger cocktail was dramatic and tasty.
Grateful to Anna for giving us a discount due to the service.
Service was sketchy. Had to ask four times for our drinks. Went to front desk to pay for bill rather than waiting. At no point was told it was a set menu that night. Food was excellent but wouldn't have ordered half of it ourselves and there was too much.
Overall a great evening, the set menu for Valentines was suitable for almost everyone and was a nice taster experience. Only downside is the price (you're in Clapham not Chelsea so don't charge £7 for a pint) and the time we waited between meals (roughly 30min). Otherwise a great experience.
The overall service was poor on all fronts. We were seated for almost twenty minutes before we were able to order, despite other diners who came in after us being served.
A waiter then proceeded to crush a huge fly on our table with our sparkling water bottle and just left it there!
There was a group of 6 dining whilst we were there and they seemed to get preferential treatment over all other diners even though the restaurant was not busy.
There seemed to be a smell of toilet cleaner in the restaurant and during the daytime you can see the place could do with a refurb
Hadn’t been in ages. Food and service excellent as ever. Decor a bit tired
