Waiting nearly two hours for meal service was not good enough, especially as the restaurant was not even a quarter full

The food was nice but portion size was small. We had Sunday lunch but wouldn’t go back due to the portion size. We were served only one slice of meat which I thought was very poor.

The service was good though.

Lovely relaxed way of spending an afternoon with the family - a cream tea. Service very good- very attentive. The grandchildren loved the excitement of the cake stands arriving at the table and all the treats.

Only thing that spoiled the experience was a noisy party in the room above.

Poor service and drug takers in toilets. Customers using bar are local unsavoury characters. Have visited at lunchtime and it's not so bad but still service was poor then too. Will NOT be going back here again although the setting is beautiful. It's a shame.

Not what I expected. More of a bar with pub food than restaurant. Food was an acceptable standard but took for ever to be served. Festive menu had much of the main pub grub food repeated on it. Probably not somewhere to go for a romantic dinner or date!

First time at Tudor Barn and would definetly return, very warm friendly place, we had a lovely waitress serve us. Me and my daughter both had Turkey which was really nice and the berry Triffle was Delicious. Unfortunately we had also booked to see the outside showing of the Elf movie but weather was extreme relentless rain and far too cold to sit and watch, shame there couldn't of been an alternative dry place to watch it if weather was bad as we decided not to stay.

Our table of 2 was initially seated next to a group booking of about 20 people.
I asked if we could be moved and this was done swiftly and with no hassle at all.

The Afternoon Tea was absolutely lovely! There was more than enough food for both of us and an equal amount of sweet treats - always a niggle when you go for Afternoon Tea, but not here!
Definitely worth every penny of £20.00 per person :)

We had a table booked for 2 on a Friday evening and were looking forward to the dinner as we've been there before for a couple of occasions and always were very happy. The service at the beginning however was very unsatisfactory. We had to wait for our table to be set - not sure why as I booked in advance. Then our drinks took about 20 mins to arrive (1 glas of wine and 1 softdrink). The new menu is compact but has a big variety. The food we had was very good as usual so that made up for the service hick ups. We had purchased a voucher in advance for a 2 course meal, but when we got the bill they just deducted the value of the voucher from the total cost as a deposit. Meaning we ended up paying the same amount we would have without the voucher. Not sure they understand the concept even though it was advertised on their website. We will probably go there again during the week when it is a bit quieter and the service can manage better, because we really like the food.

I have visited the Tudor Barn on numerous occasions and it will always be one of the first venues I consider when either booking for a family group or for a 1-1 with a friend.
However, I did not feel that, on this occasion, there was a particularly wide choice of menu and was therefore somewhat disappointed. I had a lovely time catching up with my friend, the staff were helpful and considerate and the venue as welcoming and attractive as ever. However, the choice of food did not live up to my expectations.

We visited the Tudor Barn for Sunday lunch, it was very noisy as a wedding was also taking place. Although the restaurant wasn’t really that busy, the staff find it hard to cope with both. If more staff were on it would have been a better experience . The staff could have be more attentive when taking orders and serving the meals. The food was ok once it did arrive.

Went to the Tudor Barn on Sunday with my mum, had to ask the waiter 3 times for my mums drink which finally turned up. Had a very nice glass of white wine followed by a fabulous and juicy burger with skin on chips, mum had dis and chips which she said was good. It was quite noisy as there was a wedding reception going on and I think the service was quite bad because of this. However I would go back as the food was lovely.

On arrival we were shown to our table , restaurant was completely empty apart from a few people in bar area . We waited ages for someone to come & take our order and in the end we walked up & ordered & paid in advance at the bar.Food was not to the standard we have had on previous visits & was definitely not gastro pub quality ! Pate was like something you would buy at the super market , pork chop was just 2 thick slices of previously cooked pork , would have expected it to have been freshly cooked, my Husband had the 8oz steak but it was more like 4oz was very small & thin and at £22.99 we felt ripped off . When we complained at the end of the meal we were offered deserts for free , we said we had already paid , but despite our bill being nearly £70 we were told that they had forgotten to charge for my husbands desert & that as we had eaten the food and not complained at the time they would not refund anything , we made our complaint when we brought the dirty plates back that the waitress Failed to clear & nobody came to ask how our food was & we were charged restaurant menu prices when we should have been charged bar prices as we did all the service ourselves ! We were told a manager would ring me first thing , I asked to be phoned after 11 as I was working , I got a call at 9:36 from an unknown number but have not been phoned back !. We were very dissapointed as we were celebrating our wedding Anniversary. We will definitely not be returning here ,have had better meals & service in a Wetherspoons !
