Blackened Cajun Chicken
with Hand Cut Thick Fries & Cajun Cream Sauce
made with Chick Peas, Red Kidney Beans, Sweetcorn, served with Caramelized Red Onions, Homemade Relish & Hand Cut Thick Fries
Really good food however we were waiting a long time for service. We were there 2.5 hrs just for a main and desert. Everyone was lovely but perhaps they need more staff for busy times
The services is always good
Just wondering when the menu is to be updated, as like it for a long time, have asked and been advised twice it was to be changed but never happens.
I had requested if we could move tables as it was cold where we were seated. The waitress very kindly did this & we were in a lovely warm area. Great night
The butternut squash and orange soup was delicious but it could have been slightly thicker/creamier. The pork fillets and chips were good, but with no colourful veg on the plate, too, it seemed a bit dull. It was tasty, though. There was not enough sauce/gravy for both the potatoes and the pork and the waitress never stopped to ask if we needed anything else... I'd have liked some mayo for the potatoes. With a £20 wine bottle, the final meal price for two people of £33 per person ended up feeling a bit expensive.
2 of us out for dinner in main dining for our anniversary. Ordered ribs. They were large be prepared!
Server was attentive without being intrusive and had a lovely personality.
Careful tipping as already included in the bill.
Food good limited menu needs a freshen up tiolets need an overhaul
Lovely food as always, wine good. My sister lives abroad & every then me she is here we go to Tummies
Good food and drink.
Price was good.
Not too busy.
Ordered the Blackened Cajun Chicken and it is 1 SMALL chicken breast with 6 chips. At £13.95 I found this VERY expensive.
Need a new menu, that the same meals for ages.
Got my order wrong twice.
Wanted a Baileys got a desert
Wanted a double got a single
But pleasant enough staff.
Always a fabulous place to eat, friendly with ambience, great service and amazing food
We have eaten in Tummies many times. The food is always really good and the staff are helpful and attentive. We miss the monthly special/ seasonal menus and would like to put in a request for custard option with the sticky toffee pudding which is the best sticky toffee in the area. Had a lovely evening and look forward to our next visit
Really a delightful restaurant with plenty of character inside. All staff were friendly and the Sirloin Steak was beautifully cooked throughout. A lovely dinner and many thanks to their team.
I had to go up twice to ask to order and call a waiter as we hadn't been asked if we wanted drinks after being sat in the restaurant for 30 minutes. The bill was wrong too, I don't think this one server is reflective of all wait staff but service was appalling on this particular day. When I went up to ask for someone to take our order, I was ignored for a while too... Atmosphere was great, and food was really nice.
We were served by Nirvanah who was an absolute star who served with a happy face and was always smiling even though they were short of staff. The manager in charge was very good who seated us on time and was calm and collective. I would recommend others to dine at Tummies and I will definitely.
Staff very efficient food excellent
Very nice food in nice surroundings. We had a quiet table away from main groups.
The food was good, the service was ok but it is overpriced. For 2 breakfast, 2 juices and one coffee we paid £35.
We ate at 3pm on a Sunday and have decided that we probably had what was left of the Sunday Beef as mine was over cooked but my husbands was fine, Yorkshire Puds rather hard and the roast potatoes could have been warmer. To be fair our starters were good the Satay and the Pate and would recommend.
The restaurant was not busy but they still put us next to a large table with crying babies, would have been nice if some thought had gone into the seating arrangements.
I dont think we will rush to go back.
Everything was great as always, except for the "thick cut chips" they were actually over cooked wedges that had a dryed out texture & taste.
Service was very slow , it was very quiet In the restaurant, not sure what the hold up was .
Came here with a friend after reading all the positive reviews.
I guess after reading the reviews I was expecting a bit more from the food. I had the chicken satay as the starter, and this was under seasoned for me. I had the Cajun chicken for my main and that was too salty, so I had to have more of the side order of chips to try and offset the salt. So neither dish delivered for me in terms of taste, although the chicken was well cooked and my friend seemed happy with their food.
The staff were nice and friendly and I was warned beforehand that there may be delays in our food orders due to some other large groups that were also there that night. That’s fair enough although, after quite some waiting and the table next to me getting their table ready for their mains despite arriving after us, I had to ask how much longer our food order was going to take. The waitress, upon checking, came back to say “7 minutes”, but the circumstances did have that feel of, oops, we forgot about your food order so we’re firing it up now.
Very disappointing the warm chicken salad was not up to standard too much sweet chilli sauce . The diner on the table next to us was on his mobile phone for over half an hour , with his outdoor voice until joined by his dinner partner. We found this intrusive . The starters where very enjoyable.
We were three ladies who had a fantastic get-together birthday lunch. We stayed a total of three hours and were kept fed and watered the whole way through thanks to the amazing staff. It was so nice just to sit there and catch up after two years and not feeling like we were being rushed out. The food and especially the desserts are always amazing. Thank you Tummies. You did it again! It was amazing! And we definitely won’t leave it so long till next time. Thank You x
Great food and service. We will be checking for our drawings next visit!!
Just a quick Sunday lunch, but a great place in an area that's very short of even Good places!
Excellent. Good food. Lovely service. Always a great time.
Very reliable place to eat. Great to see it busy as well
The menu is limited and the service was slow. Otherwise my wife and I like the restaurant
Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast as always
Our waiter was so lovely and very friendly
Food and service good and even better as it was steak night and so cheaper.
Excellent Food as always. Lovely wine and Service too.
Quality was good but quantity was not. I definitely felt short-changed with my Tummies Full English Breakfast. I'd expect this to be a 'go-to' breakfast dish, but the portion size was just painful. Once you took the large slices of toast away, it was pretty measly. That being said, I did not complain as was with friends. However, they were also a little disappointed overall and one was a regular there. In a competitive breakfast market, I think there are plenty of better options out there if you like good portions!
I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal at tummies, that’s why I keep going, had my 50th birthday party there 2 years ago and that was lovely too. I think I spotted one of my pictures on the ceiling from 1995. So did a new one too.
Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good local restaurant / bar
Food was good we went at lunch time was a bit noisy to start with but had the area to ourselves towards the end
Staff were polite , food was freshly cooked. Service was quick, and staff were were attentive, but not overly which is good.
Very low quality standard of food. Service friendly but slow.
Sadly I was very disappointed
The coffee’s were good & I only had toast which was the cheapest of plain brown bread, the butter was in packets (which you get in a service station cafe) so on the whole not a good visit.
I have answered yes as when I went for lunch the food was good
Some of the breakfasts looked ok too
A nice meal but the menu seems to be the same as 2 years ago.. it needs a revamp and a few more dishes added.. its all a bit boring. Service was outstanding though and very friendly staff...The toilets were in a terrible state.. paper towels strewn everwhere and clearly no one checks on them.
