Twenty8 Food & Spirits
We went out to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday with some family and friends. We were in the restaurant for over 2 hours because of the extremely slow service. We were assigned a waiter who reported it was his first day and I felt extremely bad because they assigned him two large parties to manage at once (my party of 11 and another party of about 10) and he was having a hard time managing them both. I asked the manager for another waiter or waitress in efforts to improve the quality of service. Instead the manager pulled one of bartenders who was running back and forth from the busy bar when she could (not often) as well as the original waiter so it did not make a difference in service.
One of the people in my party received a drink with a bug in it, another person ordered a steak and was not served until after the entire rest of the party was served and ate, the steak was also overcooked. We waited an additional 25 minutes for 1 dessert and the checks. Once the checks came out some were wrong and had some mathematical errors.
Overall, the service was extremely slow, the food was mediocre, the restaurant was very loud, several obnoxious guests and the nicest thing about the place was the ambiance.
I would not recommend.
Dined prior to a New England Patriots game. Unfortunately, did not know that only a buffet was offered as opposed to the regular menu you would see on the Open Table app or the restaurant website. The food was good, with plenty of options, but just really didn’t budget the buffet cost as part of our day. Again, everything was fine, or main waiter Jonathan was very good, so no real complaints about food, service, or the restaurant in general. Our time at Twenty8 was enjoyable.
Terrible service over an hour to place our order. Cesar Salad has tomatoes and mushrooms which was obviously wrong and served with the dinner an hour and a half after being seated. Rice was cold. They did credit the food which was the right thing to do but we will not go back.
Joe the host and Kelly the waitress were SUPERB! They went above and beyond! Food was to die for!
I used to love it here! Food is still really good but there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant so service was extremely slow. There were nice helpers refilling water but they really needed more help.
The waitress was not attentive at all. We had to ask five times for water. Even when we asked other staff to get our waitress we ended up waiting a very long time before we had any attention. The food was fantastic when it came out, but everything seem to take forever. The restaurant was not even busy.
Somewhat limited menu, but decent food. Good option if staying at hotel, but otherwise wouldn't go out of my way to dine here.
The restaurant was understaffed, the taps weren’t working correctly, cocktail wasn’t made correctly. Food was mediocre at best. Wedding reception/cocktail hour was in the main restaurant, the line for their drinks was so long they were coming to the bar which was greatly understaffed.
Food was very tasty (short rib poutine was awesome) and service was very good. Restaurant was kind of empty/quiet but wait staff knew we were there for an event at Gillette stadium and made sure to keep the meal moving along at a good pace.
It was very hectic due to a concert at the stadium, waitress very nice and kept apologizing for the drink and food wait. Food when we got it was good. Extremely loud. The man sitting at the next table very close to us shouted through out dinner to be heard but was louder than necessary.
Overall good place before a game/concert. needless to say crowded, but waiter was very good service was fast & friendly.
Nice Evening !
Terrible! We went there before the monster truck jam and it took an hour and 10 mins for us to get our food. The 3 tables next to us actually walked out so they didn’t miss the start of the show. I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and the salmon was dry and WAY over cooked. I was shocked as the reviews of this place were pretty decent so maybe they were just understaffed but it was a Saturday night so you think they would have been prepared.
We had a nice pre-game dinner. Food was excellent, service was fast and welcoming.
The waitress was very helpful with my sons allergies. The place was very quiet and a nice place to have a relaxing meal. The food was delicious
It was our anniversary. We had stayed at the hotel and dined at Twenty8 two years ago. Very limited menu. The wait staff were not engaged with the diners. They were congregated among themselves along with the bartender talking to a friend at the bar. The scallops (4) were served on 1/2 cup of faro with 1/4 cup of unidentified greens. No flavor and an unappealing presentation for $26.00. The rib eye was small served with 1/4 cup of potatoes and 4 asparagus spears. Asked for sambuca on the rocks for dessert beverage. They did not have any sambuca. Asked for sparkling water with ice and lime. Waitress brought warm bottle with no glass and did not open it. The restaurant had two other tables occupied at the time. Very disappointing!
Great food and excellent service. Expensive meal. Surprisingly, not crowded for the great meal we had. You might get more people with a price drop.
I made a reservation here by mistake thinking it was another place. What a great mistake! I have very low expectations of hotel restaurants and wouldn’t have looked twice at this place. After the delicious meal here, boy has my opinion changed!
The braised short rib poutine was out of this world delicious! The short rib pizza was a huge let down after the phenomenal poutine. I really don’t think there was any beef in it. Put some of the fantastic poutine beef on top of the pizza and it would be bomb!
The service was great! It was not a busy night, so we had the chance to chat a bit with the staff which was enjoyable.
I’ve recommended the poutine to a few people this week, and will definitely be back!
Twenty8 needs to update there web page. I was looking forward to an item on the menu, seared scallops w/risotto as well as a steak for my husband. When we got there and sat down found a very limited menu, typical hotel variety. Had to wait for over 1/2 hour for a pizza as the cook/pizza man had to replenish his supplies ( cheese, dough) during the dinner hour. The dining room is next to a banquet hall w/no wall, only a curtain. We happened to be there during a bas mitzfa so alot of you young people screaming and music was loud.
We ordered a beer and wine and to our disbelief both were wrong. We had the drinks for another table and they had ours.
There really was no reason to use Open Table, should have been a sign of what to expect, as there were ample tables available. Have to admit the bar was pretty crowded.
It’s a very interesting ambiance. The food was delicious and choices fir breakfast were unique.
Table seating is open and not very intimate. Food was very good!
We arrived after a movie for dinner. We were greeted with a very peasant lady that offered us purse holders and changed our napkins to black. So nice. Jason brought us drinks we had great flatbread pizzas. Food was so good. The atmosphere was quiet and the restaurant was warm! The spacing between the tables was fantastic so you did not feel you were on top of each other. After dinner we had coffee and Jason left the table with a small pot of coffee the meal and atmosphere was so delightful we will return
I have dined at the restaurant many times but noticed that the appetizer portions (nachos, wings, tacos) have become much smaller and the menu prices have increased. It's not great value for the basic menu items that they offer. The restaurant was not busy but yet it was extremely noisy due to screaming kids in a nearby sitting/drinks area. It's unfortunate because they allow kids to run freely with very little supervision.
New Year’s Eve early dinner before a movie. Restaurant was empty. Waitress and hostess were welcoming. Food was pretty bad. Husband had hamburger served on soggy roll. I ordered chicken dish. Chicken was not cooked through and had to be sent back. Waitress was very apologetic. Chicken came back over cooked and dry. Limited menu and empty restaurant, the kitchen shouldn’t have had any issues with our order. We probably won’t not go back.
Appetizers and Dinner were very good. Service was aweful. Waited 10 minutes for 2 draft beers, resturaunt was not busy. I ordered a cocktail, waitress left table, never cleared dishes, never asked 3 other guests if they needed anything. Then my cocktail never came. Bartender finally walked over to apologize that she spaced was watching football game and chatting. Really? I would try it again because the food is very good and it's a cool-looking place.
Stopped for a late evening dinner. Food was amazing and service was excellent.
Servers and manager were very attentive. Thanks Craig for your hospitality!
My wife and I were standing for 10 minutes inside nobody came to talk to us or even try to figure out why we were there. I tried to get their attention; they acted like they don’t see me standing there until I just left. Keep in mind the place wasn’t even busy only 2 tables were occupied with some additional people at the bar.
As other reviewers have noted, we ordered our food and after 45 minutes it had not arrived. The staff made minimal attempts to get our food out and provided no explanation for delay. They seem in above their heads
I gave this restaurant a one because I couldn’t give it anything lower. Ordered our food at 5:30. It didn’t arrive until 7:00 with one of our entrees missing. We saw several diners leave without receiving their meals. I strongly suggest you consider other restaurants.
We had a reservation for a family birthday dinner prior to the revolution soccer game. We got seated right away but were not seen to for over 20 minutes. Once the waitress came over, she was friendly and apologetic. We put in our order and 40 minutes later still nothing. I asked the waitress how much longer and she mentioned they were very backed up and didn’t know. There was a wedding going on and I don’t know if they were short staffed or they didn’t have the appropriate number of servers but they obviously could not handle both a wedding and dinner reservations. We cancelled our order after waiting 50 minutes with no food and ate in the stadium. This was our first time and last time going to this restaurant.
Really bad experience here on Saturday. Most frustrating part was that the menu listed online is nothing like what was offered when we arrived. It contained about half of the items and the only vegetarian option was a green salad. When we asked staff about a vegetarian option it seems to present a big challenge. How can a restaurant in such a prime location have nothing to offer vegetarians?
Service was very slow. Half of the staff was running around overwhelmed while the other half couldn’t have been less helpful. It wasn’t terribly busy as we were there on the early side. I can’t imagine what it looks like when the place is full. Yikes.
Food was great and service was attentive and friendly. Will definitely go again!
Great place and great food!! Awesome service and the drinks were great. The wife and I will definitely be back!
Great place and convent. .
For a Friends' night out, this was a nice atmosphere. The venue is open and modern feeling. We had a table by the window and felt it was easy to talk and did not feel like we were too close to our neighboring tables. The service was very good with wait staff getting it just about right with being attentive and not checking in too frequently. Everyone was reasonably happy with the food, though it was not outstanding. The apps were solid, but my falafel wrap was just okay. Falafel was a little underdone and the add-ins were underwhelming for a falafel sandwich. Others were okay with their meals though no one was raving. I think we will go back because it was a nice gathering place for us and the food was good enough.
attractive space, good food, limited options however... good service.
Springs in booth seats are broken, you can barely get in and out because you’re sinking so low!
Cheese fondu appetizer was delicious, but waitress took it away from us before we could finish it. Calamari was dry and burnt. We decided not to stay for the dinner because the experience was terrible.
Service is great, always friendly and our waitress put up with my boyfriend asking to taste the beer lol so that’s a huge pro! Pear martini was fantastic. We had the gnocchi with short ribs and falafel sandwich. Both really great! Pizza looked fantastic but we didn’t try it (yet). We shared the flourless chocolate cake and it was ok, sort of a small portion which is fine with me. We will definitely be back.
Overall the restaurant was good, the biggest complaint was the slow service. One bartender only on a Saturday night didn't make sense. Kitchen also was slow although the food was good.
our waitress was good and helpful.
