Bringing its hallmark level of quality and service to an urban location, Uchi Houston made its debut in 2012 in the former historic Felix space on Westheimer. Melding culinary innovation with an approachable vibe, the menu features items culled from both Uchi and Uchiko in Austin, along with signature seasonal items created by our Chef team.     We just moved back from living in California for almost After living in California for ten years, specifically in the San Diego area, where access to amazing food was always just minutes away in any direction, moving back to the Woodlands/Magnolia area of Texas has been a bit of a letdown when it comes to dining options. The food here is often overpriced and falls short of what we’re used to in terms of quality. As big sushi fans, we’ve had some unforgettable experiences with sushi over the past decade, so when we heard about Uchi in Houston, we knew we had to try it. Since it’s about an hour’s drive from us, we decided to make it a special occasion and go all out with the Omakase, a 12-course chef’s selection for $175 per person. Uchi did not disappoint. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Every course offered incredible flavor combinations, with melt-in-your-mouth textures and unique profiles that kept us amazed. By the end, we were beyond full and felt it was worth every penny. Uchi proved to be a standout in Houston’s dining scene, offering sushi that matched, if not surpassed, our high expectations.

    Most of the food was very good, however the brussel sprouts were not as good as in the past. Miss the vegetarian happy hour menu, and would be nice to see some tofu options on the menu, as vegetarians need protein too. Not a fan of having to wait at the crowded bar until all parties are present, the tight 2 hour dining time, and lack of a patio with dinner service - might be past due for a location update.

    Food and service were exceptional. Could not have asked for a better experience at the restaurant. However, the parking/valet situation was a nightmare. Absolutely zero organization, chaotic, and is dangerous.

    Anthony waited on us and was very friendly and helpful! The food is delicious and we were there with a couple who had never been there and they loved it. We were also there to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday and almost everyone who came to our table wished her a very happy birthday. It was great!
