Quality takes time. That’s why gravy is slow-simmered on the stove, where ingredients are carefully selected and prepared.
This is how Frank Sinatra preferred it. Chef Carlos De Veyra, chef of Uncle Tony’s and nearby Woods Restaurant, has created a menu of old classics that the Rat Pack would approve of.
Go back in time at this nostalgic 1960's Pizzeria and Pasta Bar accompanied by sounds of accordions and Italian singers. Select seating on bar stools at the pizza oven, in the kitchen, or in a cozy mob-style booth. Uncle Tony’s is open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner, Saturday and Sunday dinner only.
Uncle Tony's is a great place to go for good wholesome food and an interesting ambiance.
Always reliable food wise and the service has always been prompt and friendly.
Quaint little italian spot. Traditional decor. Food was very hot and right out of the kitchen. Webiste menu was old, so we were disappointed that there was not Caperse salad. Super tuscan wine for house wine was pretty darn good or the price. Service was good but the poor gal had to keep making excuses for things on the menu they didn’t have due to the new chef. Will go back likely.
A quirky little restaurant. The seating arrangements are very romantic and they play up the Italian-American theme very nicely, in the decor and music. Service was attentive and professional. The quality of the food was a bit of a mixed bag - some elements well executed, but in some cases overcooked. So, what you might expect from homecooking, but a bit below where it should be for this place.
Quiet early dinner. Very friendly staff! Veal marsala with fresh herbs, excellent thin crust pizza! Charming atmosphere!
Excellent food and excellent service. We were late for our reservation and they held it for us.
We had the Chicken Parmesan Special and the Fat Tony’s Pizza. Excellent food and service! And the Live Accordion Music set a nice tone for the evening.
Great time at Uncle Tony's as usual. The menu has been recently updated and no longer features Bianca Pizza (prosciutto pizza), seafood pasta and arugula salad. Unfortunate news for our group of friends because we've been coming to Uncle Tony's for years to enjoy these dishes on the menu. The updated menu is great but we are hoping our favourites come back to the menu soon!
Everything was excellent! The only thing we didn’t enjoy is that we mentioned that it was our anniversary dinner and we got a very uncomfortable place in the restaurant.
This is a quirky little restaurant and we very much enjoyed. We had the antipasto platter and it was very good and well presented. We all enjoyed our meals and the added bonus of the accordion player was a treat. We would definitely go back.
Enjoyed the dining experience. The space was cozy and the food was very good. The live accordionist added the perfect touch for an authentic Italian experience.
Party of 5, all had pizza except for 1 person who had pasta, this was good. The pizza was aweful! Not from scratch, tasted like baked tortillas. Calamari appetizer was nice and crispy but calamari was chewy. Roasted garlic was nice, you get 3 heads of garlic and 3 tiny slices of bread, when I asked for more bread as this was being shared with others, I was given 4 more slices of stale bread and got charged $2 for it! Funghi pizza had raw mushrooms and a cheese base, not tasty! Ambiance is fun as described from other reviews. Overall, not very good food (at least what we ordered) and pricy for the quality of food provided. Go elsewhere!!!!!!
Good for ambiance.
They've recently changed their menu-- everything we wanted to order was actually taken off the new menu. The food itself was not something that would draw me back to the restaurant for.
Cosy atmosphere, great for couples with excellent service and high quality food very reasonably priced. Would definitely dine here again.
Was a very enjoyable evening. A really fun place. xxxxxxxxx
Cutest cozy place for a small group or a date!
Server was great, italian music played by an acordianist was great. Food was delicious!
The place was smaller than expected, but the decor and the music created an inviting ambiance. Calamari could have used more seasoning, but the pastas we ordered (penne vodka & butternut squash agnolotti) were perfectly al dente and downright delicious. Service was not bad, but our server seemed way too focused on up-selling (although as a server myself I know it's part of the job), but he didn't try to make a genuine connection with us. Overall I give Uncle Tony's a 4/5 and would come back again to try more food!
Accordian player was perfect
Loved the area
Food was decent
Wished we had ordered the pizza
Will go back again and do that
Beaucoup d’atmosphère, la nourriture est excellente et le service courtois et professionnel
Lovely place for a date before taking in a show at the Sony Centre.
Love the vibe and feeling of the restaurant, accordion player included!
Delicious food all around for the four people at our table.
Great little place and been there many times since I work around the corner. Feels like the prices went up...if you don't have an issue paying high for Italian then its great. The atmosphere is amazing and staff is awesome.
We shared the Caesar salad then had the Chicken Milanese and Risotto. All were prepared very well and were very tasty. We would return next time we need a good meal in the area.
Fantastic as usual ! Red checkered table cloth, Chianti candle holders, fabulous service, delicious food and great accordion player and singer of Italian themed music. Like being in Italy , I imagine.
Food and service was fantastic. Walked to Sony centre. Will definitely go back, and so would my two friends I was with.
The gnocchi were absolutely incredible!
We were a table of 3 gals dining before a Sony Centre show and the service was prompt and pleasant.
Would definitely go back.
I really wanted to like this restaurant more than I did. At first site the tablecloth was not clean. Not a good first impression. The appetizers were good. The caprese needed more cheese and the tomatos were not fresh. The deep fried cauliflower and pear and arugala salad was good. My spaghetti was ok could use more sauce but meatballs did not taste fresh. My sister enjoyed her gnochi and my other sister enjoyed her pear and hoeny pizza but the margaritta pizza was not tasty and was very dry. The ambiance was nice and the accordian player was pleasant. We were seated quite close to him so it was a tad loud but not annoying as some other places with loud clients. I'll never understand an Italian restaurant that charges for bread. Come on.
I went there with my daughter and we had an awesome dinner!
Great wine, pizza, service, ambiance, I have already raved about it on Facebook!
Will be going there again soon I hope!
Great spot for a downtown dinner before the game. My daughter and I ordered different pizzas and both were fantastic. Clearly they use quality ingredients. Will definitely go back again.
Delicious food and tasted very authentic. Great customer service.
Our meals were outstanding and the ambiance is old school romantic. Loved it overall!
Great place and amazing food as usual! Bianca pizza with chilli oil is the best one I've tried in my life!!! Highly recommend uncle Tonys! Best place to eat on the East end.
I love the red booths, as they were very private. I enjoyed the accordion player that came in, and the pizza was amazing.
Every year my husband and i go to uncle Tony's for our date anniversary. This year was meant to be special because our son was going to join us. I went in person the day before to confirm the reservation and add a high chair for my infant son. I saw the reservation on the tablet myself and saw the modification. On the day of the reservation we arrived 5 minutes late and our reservation could not be found on the tablet. We also could not be accommodated with a high chair. There's only one in the restaurant! This was very disappointing and we left immediately for a fine meal at a newer establishment down the street. Unfortunately we won't be going to uncle Tony's again.
Amazing. Food, service and entertainment were phenomenal!
This is a true little gem right in the heart of downtown Toronto. The butternut squash pasta was absolutely gorgeous and the service was excellent - much better value and experience than other more well known options nearby. I will be back!
I loved the portion size of the special. it was not too much and just enough which left room for desert, which was also enough. Some places pile it up so high that Never order anything else and never desert. I will come again. And the fresh pasta makes a huge difference.
