Urban Bar & Brasserie

Situated in Glasgow City Centre equidistant from Queen Street station and Glasgow Central station, 3 minute walk, makes Urban ideal for business/conference meals. We also have Glasgow's most popular theatres on our doorstep so start your evening here at Urban.
Very pleasant dining experience. Good choice, good food and service.
Always a friendly atmosphere. I've been several times for lunch and dinner. The quality of the food has never failed. You have the edge on many restaurants, you deliver every time. What a difference it makes having a clean white table cloth and good service. These repeated standards are difficult to find, well done.
Dined from the Market Menu, very good value for money
Magnificent staff, and the foods pretty good too.
Very good food, service, ambience. And great value.
My husband and I had a lovely meal in here on Sunday evening It was both our first visit for eating, having only been in for drinks previously. Food was cooked to perfection. Attentive staff. Have no complaints at all. Can’t recommend highly enough.
Food was very good as per usual. Unfortunately, they seemed to be busier than usual and for a meal starting at 19:30 we did not leave until 22:00. The food and the drinks were very good, but the service despite being very good was very slow due to the busy service time. We had to ask for our bill twice and had to wait 20 minutes for it. Nearly missed our train.
I was a little disappointed, we had chosen this to celebrate 2 birthday's at the table. Whilst the service and the food was good, it wasn't by any means great. The service at the end of the meal was particularly slow- we wait 20 minutes to place a dessert order with the menus in front of us and another 20-25 minutes after finishing eating for the plates to be cleared away. No-one even acknowledged that there were birthday's at the table- I wasn't expecting anything for free but we got stuck in a dark corner of the restaurant, the service could have been better for a celebration and the food quality was just ok- 2 people at the table were questioning where the duck was in their duck cake. I myself left half of my main course as there was far too much potato to duck ratio. I was so disappointed after hearing such great things.
Excellent service and food. Friendly waiters. Lovely large space. Always a favourite.
I booked Urban to celebrate both my daughter and son passing important professional exams. I hadn’t been for quite a while and was disappointed by the very large round table which would have seated a lot more than 5 of us. The area we were in was noisy and we couldn’t hear each other speak. The food wasn’t nearly as nice as it used to be. On the plus side the service was very good, in particular Waheed who has only worked for Urban for a few weeks but seemed as if he’d been there for years, he remembered everyone’s name throughout the evening and couldn’t have been more professional, helpful and friendly. Waheed is a credit to Urban
Took a while to receive our first course after we were seated over 35 mins. But when we did get the food it was delicious. We will be back!
Excellent service & delicious reasonably priced food
Excellent lunch venue. Good mix of social lunches and business lunches adding to a great atmosphere.
Meal was generally okay, but quite pricey for what it was. However, the Market Menu on the restaurant website clearly showed a choice of desserts. No desserts were on offer on the menu in the restaurant, which was a great disappointment to members of our party.
The choice of desserts was a major factor in choosing this restaurant.
Our waiter informed us that the website information was being updated.
Our meal was on Monday 24th February. I have checked the Urban Brasserie website today (Friday 28th February), and the Market Menu still shows desserts.
Overall a disappointing experience for an important reunion.
One of the nicest relaxed places to eat in Glasgow
Great venue for dining and talking. Privacy and noise interference at proper levels. I wouldn’t hesitate to dine there again.
Calm oasis in the city centre, splendid deco surroundings. Attentive service.
Booked Urban probably 3 weeks in advance and was called to confirm I would still be going about a week before time.
I have eaten and had drinks there many times and have always been impressed by the food, service and ambiance.
Disappointed on 14th when arrived to discover that the menu was a Set Valentines Menu
Not impressed by the food and think it was poor value at £45
if the restaurant has said in advance it was this type of menu we would have booked for another time
We enjoyed our meal on Friday night, service, food quality all good. Considered the price of the Scallop and Prawn starter a bit steep at £13, else reasonable value.
Valentines menu, aside from steak being a little small, great experience. Waiter / hosts were all very nice and this is often under appreciated when working a busy festive type service. First time at Urban however I will be back.
Excellent welcome and excellent service throughout our visit. Food was very good and very well presented, the ambiance was very pleasant and relaxing, perfect for a long unhurried lunch
We had a table for 5 people, the server Waheed was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a birthday celebration and a lovely biplane was given to the birthday girl. Would definitely return and recommend.
No hesitation in recommending and will be returning. Staff were excellent.
Had a Manhattan atmosphere!
lovely surroundings, great service and food, would recommend
Outstanding food. Will be back. Was first time in restaurant although been many times in bar.
Friendly staff, good food.
Food was great. Enjoyed everything, it was all well cooked. I was cheered up by the fact that they also had decent house wine (which was not the case in the last 2 places I have been to!)
Service great and atmosphere perfect.
The cleanliness and attention to detail is lovely
As ever, just about the best place to eat and ‘talk shop’ in Glasgow.
Good food and lovely staff in a cosy setting. First time and will certainly return
We have been customers of the Urban Bar for many years however on this occasion we had to send one main course back as it was cool and undercooked. Also one small pitta bread with the humus starter is a bit mean don’t you think.
This place never fails, every visit you get the usual quality
All amazing which resulted in a 5 Hour Late Lunch with friends , a wonderful day.
Can’t wait to go back,
It's been a while since we were last dining here. It was great returning and being greeted by familiar staff who were pleased to see us. We were made most welcomed.
What is really good about this restaurant is twofold. The lack of music so that conversations can be heard, and also the distance between the tables. Service has always been impeccable and the presentation of food with proper linen service is really something. If you want to impress a client or even a girlfriend/boyfriend, then this is the place to come.
Food was undercooked, sent back and one meal was still undercooked. Rib eye steak was 31.00. No veg or mushrooms or onion ring, just accompanied by chunky frozen chips.
Food was excellent, service was faultless and peace and quiet was delightful .
The Urban never disappoints. The decor is relaxing, and comfortable. I like the fact that there is space between ourselves and the other diners. We have been coming for years, and I note the menu seems a bit more restrictive. Also bread no longer offered routinely. However we both liked what we ordered, and had a pleasant evening
As it was Hogmanay the restaurant was a bit quiet but that didn't bother us. The waitress informed us on seating that the restaurant was closing early but we had plenty time and were not rushed in any way. The food was fabulous and the service great. All in all a great night in a lovely environment.
Service was incredibly friendly - food was delicious.
