Vertigo 42 has the most amazing views of London! Me and my friend visited last Saturday and it was such a nice experience. a really nice chilled environment. Will definitely be coming back again.
Lovely evening, service was friendly, efficient and accommodating . Everyone nice especially Evelina . Thank you
Cool place, good music, good service, one of the favourite bars in London
Definitely a date place - views are fantastic however if you’re sat near the end of the bar (near the toilets) there isn’t much to look at.
Champagne by the glass options are limited. Food is poor - frozen deserts, cheese selection bad etc.
Considering there is only one toilet (for ladies) you would think it would be immaculately clean but it was filthy.
Worth a visit but only for an hour. Wouldn’t go back.
Great view and service, but that’s sort of where the quality ends.
Toilets were in an appalling state. Floor area in the seating area was full of crumbs.
Lovely place for cocktails with a great view over the city
Avoid at any cost. Cheap furniture, horrendous food and a bad wine list. But this all comes at a high price
Really tired decor, dirty carpet; holes in the chairs etc.
When we were seated I got told my reservation was for less people and had to prove it wasn’t by showing my confirmation email.
Considering you can go to duck and waffle, sushi samba or a bar in the shard for a lovely view and pricy drinks, I would avoid going here!
Staff were overall friendly though!
Views are great and our waitress was very friendly and helpful - she made it a nice experience.
Went with friend for a drink and snack. Lovely views over London. however that decor is very tired. The seats are torn and the walls need painting. The atmosphere was ruined when they started to hoover around you and made you feel you had to leave despite being told to take our time finishing our drinks
Would not recommend or go to the place again.
Lohnt den Besuch nicht, verschlissene Einrichtung, überforderte Bedienung, Aussicht gibt es woanders auch. Bloß nicht!
Really enjoyed my visit to Vertigo Saturday night. Great atmosphere. Not a cheap night but fun all the same.
Fantastic! Couldn’t be happier
It was a lovely experience but expensive. Also for such place I think they could do with new chairs. The leather armchairs we worn out and cracked. Also the device wasn’t as good. We had to keep waiting quite a while for a waiter to pass by to order more drinks on couple of occasions. Would be nice if the staff kept an eye on empty glasses and offered new drink. Apart from that it was great experience.
Posh bar with stunning views over Central London. The staff were attentive. Love this place!
I came for some drinks with my parents for their 30th wedding anniversary. I advised it was a special occasion when booking but there was no mention of it when we arrived or throughout our visit. We were sat round at the end on the high stools and it was very cold so I wasn’t very comfortable. We were also asked by 4 different waiters if we were ready to order drinks which wasn’t a great experience. Lovely view but wouldn’t go back.
An iconic building in the heart of the City, with spectacular views across London and the Thames. We watched the sunset which was amazing. Drinks on the expensive side, but you're getting the view of a lifetime. Decor isn't posh, but as you're looking out the window, it's not a problem. Not a large space, so ideal for small parties, couples, or quick pre-dinner drink.
I had expected considerably more from the Vertigo experience. A limited cocktail list and a distinct inability to make a cocktail that wasn't on the list. Even something as simple as a mojito! Come on. The food itself or should I say nibbles are so overpriced at £25 for some nuts and some hummus! The service was slow and laboured and we were sat some 15-20 mins before eventually ordering what were very bland and unexciting cocktails. I really wouldn't rate this place on value, service or quality. The view was really the only positive sadly!
Amazing views and a nice atmosphere. Slightly spoilt by being chased down the corridor for not leaving the full 12.5% tip. Don't use the word discretionary and then demand it. It should be up to the customer to decide how good the service was.
The bar is nice if you just want to see a view of London, however the bar menu is very limited. The vibe is just completely wrong. People are sat in small groups due to the layout but it’s extremely loud, both from the music and drunk guests.
What a waste of an amazing location. The ‘bar’ is a corridor around the edge of the floor with a mirrored wall screening off the central area. The decor is very tired and most of the seats were ripped, repaired with tape and covered up with cushions. The service was poor and discourteous. The toilets looked like they had been originally built for the building maintenance team i.e. not even up to the standard of a city office environment. Disgraceful for an establishment that feels it is ok to charge £18.50 for a glass of Laurent Perrier! The positives were an amazing view of London and a beautiful sunset, although the quality of the view depends on where you are seated. Also, the house champagne was very decent. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat.
Amazing views over London but the seating, toilets and everything else are starting to look very tired now.
Great views and funky layout. Glad we went.
Service was a bit slow, we had to go look for someone to take our order, and then to pay our bill. Getting to it was slightly weird - dark hallways to get to the lift, wasn’t sure if we were in the right place. Others also appeared confused.
Excellent service, and very helpful and friendly staff.
Great views, great value. Food wasn't anything spectacular, but the views are why you go there, and it was still great :) Excellent service
Visited this establishment for afternoon tea with champagne. On the plus side the views of London were spectacular on a nice clear day and this contributed to the Ambience rating. The champagne was fine too. However the food was very moderate. The finger sandwiches, whilst very fresh, had cheap, uninteresting fillings. The Orange and Millionaire cakes were OK. The Plain Scones with jam and cream were the best element of the food. The service started fine with the Maitre d' and first waitress but once there was a changeover the service deteriorated rapidly even though they were less busy. It took almost an hour to get our Coffees despite several reminders - not great!! To sum up, clearly a place that caters for tourists and does not expect repeat business.
stunning views of night London! .
Obviously the only reason yo book is to get that fantastic view. Thankfully my seats overlooked Bank & the Thames. However the carpet under my feet was filthy, the service was really slow. If I'm paying top money for drinks I expect the Decor to match. This place is very dated & in desperate need of renovation.
Come for a date and everyone was super friendly with a great view and wine.
The view just takes your breath away. We had lychee cocktails, charcuterie and prawns and the trio of desserts which were delicious. The music and atmosphere was amazing and we felt so relaxed. 5 star all the way!!!!
Accommodating and friendly staff-great evening. Always a delight, especially when you get a wonderful sunset!!!😊
This was my second time at vertigo. 42 1st time was for afternoon tea and this time for tapas amazing 😉 the view is great I will recommend to all my friends 😊
Tired venue, menu is suffering from an identity crisis and the seating/decor is super awkward. They don't do proper cocktails either. Consider investing some serious capital into the place and cleaning up the menu to serve a focused, themed menu of good, clean, rustic food.
Tired venue thats needs a lick of paint. Value for money not good compared to other high rise bars
Paying for the view
Fantastic view, good service, champagne perfectly chilled and cream tea was lovely however the venue itself is drab and shabby looking and mismatches with the experience
The place has got the finest view of the beautiful city of London. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Overall, the experience was quite good! I would recommend the place to anyone who would like to spend a quiet afternoon sipping champagne and enjoying the best view from the skyscraper.
Absolutely stunning view, very picturesque and super kind staff. Asked if we could move tables purely to see the sunset better and were moved straight away and staff were very tentative with drinks ordering.
We had a glass of pimms royal and thought it would have been nicer with champagne instead of prosecco.
