Our doors are (almost) always open, so pop in for an impromptu supper in Our Yard, a pint with a four legged friend or to celebrate a special occasion in our first floor dining room.
The Victoria Stakes – London’s local

Sunday: Midday - 10:30pm
I went on a Sunday and was surprised that the only menu was a fixed 2/3 course Sunday Roast. The portion of beef was small, cut extremely thinly and cost an extra £1.
I do not think it is good value for money
The yard is really cool. Staff was really kind and also brought colours for the little ones. Food was great and we didn't spend a fortune. Overall a very nice place to spend some family time
I love this place!
Usually go here for Sunday lunch but recently tried the Friday evening menu and was not disappointed. All three choices, which included grilled halloumi , deep fried squid, a fantastic burger, delicious duck and fish coated in mouthwatering batter were enjoyed immensely and our wine at the cheaper end of the list was delicious too.
Only one issue- the music was a bit loud so we had to shout. Good choice of songs though!
We will definitely be back soon.
Came here for Sunday lunch, very tasty 3 courses and helpful, friendly staff! See you again soon.
Vicky stakes... It had been a while! And you did not disappoint, was lovely to sit in the yard again and as always, the food was great.
Came once before when the menu felt overly fussy - last night the choice and quality were both ideal. All the staff were lovely and made the evening thoroughly enjoyable. Will be back.
We have been visiting VS once a month for the past 6 months and I have to say it was been great every time. Dining in the yard last Sunday was a first and it was great! VS is huge but looking from outside... it seems small. Great place to eat..and customer service is A class.
Perfect Night well done , Food excellent , Drinks great choice
Great pub really close to Alexandra Palace
Nice Sunday roast. Tables readily available for walk ins. Relaxed nice little pub
The burger tasted awful like a heheated McDonald's burger. The salmon was hard and overcooked with white stuff coming out (protein); the service was worth it and the ambiance too. Definitely not the food.
A great family Sunday lunch- good food, great service.
Amazing staff and food. Friendly, attentive and chatty! Made me and our little doggie feel right at home!
Good food but felt like staff needed more management.
Sunday lunch was fantastic, great atmosphere, very family. Good food and outstanding service.
The Sunday roast was perfect in portion size.
The desserts were divine
Great venue. Great food. Great service
The Victoria Stakes is becoming a regular place to enjoy Sunday lunch with friends and family living locally and elsewhere.
The food is absolutely delicious, the service impeccable and whilst it is not cheap, it is worth every penny.
See you again soon!
We brought our carnivore daughter out for steak as our pescatarian daughter was at a sleepover. Cote de boeuf was perfectly cooked, gorgeous potatoes dauphinois & peppercorn sauce. I had the salmon tartare starter, light but tasty. Husband enjoyed the pate. Carnivore daughter loved the cote and ordered a second round of skinny fries they were so good!
Very enjoyable evening. The food, as always, was very good. Wines too! Not crowded, so great for a group get together.
Lovely Sunday roast and great service. There was a few tables which ordered at the same time and the waiter explained the starters would take longer and offered us a complimentary drink.
Atmosphere was family friendly for the 6 nations. And the Sunday lunch was superb. 2 of our orders were misplaced but we were offered full refunds for those orders whilst also still receiving new one so no harm no foul.
Family Sunday dinner, our grandson was with us and the young man waiting our table was great with him. Food was exceptional as usual. My Vegan daughter in-law was very happy with her food.
It’s always a pleasure to spend an evening here
I'm just obsessed. Wouldn't be Sunday without a Vicky Stakes!!!
We had a lovely family meal there, the food was delicious, atmosphere was great. We were sitting upstairs so it's more quiet then the downstairs pub section.
A lovely pub and food delicious. The service was good but it was extremely busy that night and noise level was high. But we expected that around Christmas! !
The food was delicious, the service was not...We arrived 15 minutes early and we were told our table was ready but no one would serve us until our allotted time - Odd but OK, so we sat at the table and went to the bar to order our own drinks. Then we were told there was a large Christmas party arriving and could we order quickly (we were a group of 7, the week before Christmas - if we weren't a Christmas Party too I'm not sure what you'd call us!). So we then ordered. Soup came without bread, so some was ordered on the side, this didn't appear . We asked and then received what appeared to be two slices of OK ish brown bread torn in half (for 2 people having soup). 6 of 7 mains arrived, after people were half way through, one of us had to stand up, go to the Manager and ask what was happening? To be told, oh it'll be with you in a minute or two - no apology . We decided not to have puddings and asked for 4 glasses of wine, we watched the bar man pour them, we watched them on the bar, we watched the Manager having a chat to the bar man with our drinks in-front of them. Eventually one of us got up and went to collect them, whereupon the Manger (standing directly beside the tray) turned to the waiter beside her and said you should have taken those over. Surely she should have noticed this without us having to help ourselves. Our sizeable bill arrived, much to the disgust of some at the table, nothing had been deducted from our bill. We decided not to make a complaint, although we aired our thoughts, very pleasantly , to our very nice waitress (she had too many tables to serve) and said we would write a review. Nice place, Nice atmosphere, food good when it turns up. But wow the service, and attitude .....So sadly won't return, and would pass on my comments to others. Sad could have been sooooo much better. If we hear the service has improved we may pop back !
The Sunday lunch at Victoria Stakes is consistently great. The food and service never disappoint
Excellent choice of food, of well-executed dishes and efficient and unassuming service, great choice of beers - impressed.
We took my mum here for her birthday and had Sunday lunch. Three of us are vegetarian and really enjoyed the vegetarian Sunday Lunch option. The veg was cooked perfectly and tasted flavourful. Very pleasant waiting staff and they kindly brought my mum’s desert out with candles in, which made it extra special.
Great neighbourhood pub, used to frequent when I lived locally a few years back. These days I'm only there for pre and post Alexander Palace gigs, for which it is perfect!
Food really excellent. Just lovely staff and a real pride in what they do. Fantastic room upstairs too - we hired for our wedding party. They were flexible and really went the extra mile. No hidden costs.
Sunday lunch is fabulous and the side of cauliflower cheese is not for the faint hearted - amazing and a portion between 2 still defeated us - a must order
Had a very tasty lunch at the weekend with our 2 children. It was quite pricey - but you get what you pay for!
Amazing Sunday roast, will definitely go again!
My favourite roast in London! The sticky toffee pudding is to die for.
Really good quality Sunday roast. The beef was very tender and perfectly cooked. Very good sized portions. Friendly staff.
Great place for a friends get together. Very accommodating of buggies and boisterous children! Good food menu and wine selection. Will definitely come back for more!
Excellent food, service was great all in all very good gastro pub.
