Vida Comida at The Swan Ratings and Reviews
We have just discovered this place and love going there. The food is delicious and authentic with a good range of beers and wine. The staff are friendly and the service is good. The one down side is that when the restaurant is busy it gets very noisy, but I would recommend it for a foodie night out.
Celebrated early Mothers Day with lunch. Every one of us enjoyed our food (except one fussy faddy child). There was a great choice, the service was friendly and helpful and managed unusual dietry requirements with aplomb. The restaurant has a good feel and it was no surprise that it was busy. Even though it was busy there was no delay in service and we were impressed that they coped with a family of nine so well (we did book in advance).
Went for my mother's birthday, although I had been before previously, rustic setting main dining room and cosy side nook with comfy chairs and a fireplace in the room where the bar is for coffee and chat. Food is delicious and pretty authentic seeing as the chefs are actually Spanish, but be aware most of the tapas dishes are pretty big and made for two rather than one. Good wine list, good selection of coffees and changing dessert board. Staff are friendly and professional. Has a garden but I've not been out there so can't comment on what it's like. Good parking literally 20ft from the door. All in all 10/10 would eat there again.
A return visit to this little gem in Sherborne.
Excellent value, superb tapas. Something for everyone on the menu; all served in lovely surroundings and with attentive (but not intrusive) and enthusiastic owner.
Will be back and will become a family favourite I know.
I was recommended to Vida Comida by a friend and it certainly lived up to my expectations. We arrived early so had cocktails in the bar, during which, we were brought a selection of delicious food to try, so unexpected and appreciated. The main event was spectacular and we were very well looked after throughout the whole meal. Only sad to say, we couldn't manage a pudding, although they looked amazing. We will definitely come again and have already booked for a few weeks time.
Waitress who served us should be commended on being very helpful. She took time and sat down with us and explained the dishes that were on offer. Recommended how many dishes to order and gave honest opinions as to what the dishes were like as she had tried them.
We were the only people in the restaurant at the time but the atmosphere did not make it feel that way.
waitress was extremely helpful, loved presentation and wide variety of dishes, liked that you could have as much or as little as you liked, warm and comfortable, beautiful music you could believe you were in Spain, not rushed we could take our time and we were even offered a "doggy bag".
