Vine Street Cafe

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED UNDERSTANDING!
Chef/Owners Lisa & Terry Harwood opened Vine Street Cafe in 2003. Located on South Ferry Road, just 1.5 miles from the South Ferry. Chef Terry works with area farmers, fishermen & vineyards and features their natural bounty on his seasonal menus. We make everything in house and Lisa's desserts, ice creams and fruit crisps are no exception. Recently, we opened a small market behind the restaurant. This is where you pick up take-out orders while stocking your home pantry. Specialty catering is available along with ready fresh meals such as meatballs, chicken salad, bread, smoked ribs, BBQ Sauce and a selection of artisan pastas. Reservations are highly recommended year round.

We had a lovely time. Our food was delicious.
Vine Street NEVER disappoints! It is our favorite spot in the Hamptons!
Dining room was so hot we had to move outside in a rainstorm. Food was good, but very, very expensive. Waiter Vincent was the best part of the evening - friendly, attentive and took note it was our anniversary in the reservation.
The menu is seasonal & interesting. Allows love the fish dishes and the duck confit! The taco appetizer was delicious!
Waiter was super nice and very attentive food excellent as always
I went with my 88-year-old father and everything was wonderful. This was our second time and each time the service was gracious and responsive. We said we loved the bread and our wait person brought us a little baguette to take with us. I love the sauteed vegetables and jasmine rice as I am a vegetarian. My dad has had the mussels and other seafood and always loves it. We'll come back the next time I visit.
Resturant had no heat. These things happen early in the season. But , I ordered the NY strip steak ....seems easy right ? Steak was so fatty I must have had to spit out 8-10 pieces. My wife had the miso salmon which she said was very good.
Service was poor.
We were in the Vine for the third time in two weeks. Every time the food was excellent, drinks were very good, service was solid and ambiance was very nice. Keep up the good work!!
The Lobster dish I ordered was flavorful and delicious
Excellent food, but service could be better
Excellent and plentiful food, friendly service and cozy, spacious Covid-style tent dining. Highly recommended!
Enjoyed every moment from our cozy table for 2; the wine, drinks and the food was phenomenal!😍
They have done a great job with the outdoor setting and the pivoting during these challenging times. Also I love the market for take out. The food is consistently great. Those tuna tacos are incredible.
Exceptional service and accommodations for our anniversary dinner. They easily modified my entrée to accommodate my special requests and made it absolutely perfect!
Top 2 favorite restaurants in the Hamptons/ Shelter Island
Felt comfortable in the tent once they raised one side of the tent as per our request
The food is always amazing
Lucky to be there on a Monday to have the bouillabaisse, always excellent. Everything is top quality here and the cozy, warm ambience is so appreciated. Have loved this place for years, always happy to see it is still there.
Decided to give Vine a second chance after a very bad experience about 10 years ago. We were asked to leave before we finished our dinner as other people were waiting for the table. This had never happened in any country we had visited and we travel a lot.
Worth you time.
Ambiance, food and service all 5 star
First time here and everything was fantastic: attentive staff, top quality food, and great ambiance. We had the duck and the filet mignon - both were delicious and cooked perfectly. The sides were also great (highly recommend the grits), and despite being full, we were convinced to get dessert by our waiter and did not regret it. We sat inside but tables were well distanced, and would love to come back and sit in the beautiful outdoor garden space some time!
It was very mediocre. The service was below mediocre. The food quality was just OK. For the price it was way under value.
Vinny was one of the very best waiters we’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by. Fantastic evening.
Great food, great service. Always consistent and enjoyable.
The wait for our table was a bit long but once seated, it was wonderful.
Highly recommend dining here, great food and service. We were a party of 5, everything we ordered was cooked perfectly, especially the crispy calamari appetizer, the duck confit and chateaubriand entrees, the bok choi/mushrooms, and the brie cheesecake was spectacular. The cocktails were good but took some time for them to get to the table.
Beautiful spot with lovely outdoor dining area. Excellent menu with superb salmon with miso glaze (want to try other things but can’t resist this whenever I go there!) and other excellent selections on their appealing menu. A first rate, high quality experience that never disappoints.
Consistently well prepared dishes
Good outdoor seating options
A standby in the East End
Great meal and cozy place definitely worth the special trip
Great service. A few nice wines at fair prices. Food very well prepared. Was a really nice dinner. Will go back.
All good all good all good
Our waitress, Danielle, was very informative, attentive, and knowledgeable about the different plates, the wines, and how things could be tailored to our different needs.
Perfect place for an evening out. Gluten free accommodations available.
First time and really enjoyed it! Will def be back!
Always our go to while on shelter island.
Excellent service and food.
Ate outside well spaced tables and Covid protocols to make us feel safe.
We have been coming to Vine Street Cafe for years, and it is always a great meal and great time. They've done a great job accommodating for the new Covid rules and requirements. The additional outdoor space is charming and we felt very comfortable and had a delicious dining experience.
Always terrific food and service. Visiting during Covid-19 we were made to feel comfortable. Tables are well spaced even while they were quite busy it was very comfortable. We will def visit again when we can.
This is my second time was there celebrating my sons birthday we both love lamb chops and your is perfection
Excellent food and experience! The outdoor dining was beautifully done. We look forward to returning soon.
