An enjoyable Sunday lunch carvery. The soup and other starters were excellent. Beef, Turkey and Gammon were on offer at the carvery and plenty of vegetables. I particularly liked the cauliflower cheese. A hot apple and fruits of the forest crumble with custard was delicious and there were many more sweets to choose from. Self service mainly but a few 'schoolgirls' waitresses were around to help. The only downside is the poor decor with uncomfortable, squeaky chairs and odd bric-a-brac gathering dust. The whole restaurant needs redesigning with customer comfort and ambience a priority. More

The ambience, surroundings, service and food was very good. We had one of their 4 course meals and each course was excellent. In particular the Wagyu Beef was melt in the mouth. The beetroot starter was very pleasant and the crab and shrimps in mayonnaise was very good. The deserts were also of a very high standard. The only food I that was disappointing was the nibbles with the pre-meal drinks, some sort of pickled beetroot affair that I found unpleasant - I would rather have had stuffed olives! But this is not reflected in my food review rating. The only reason I gave my review 4 not 5 stars is I felt the accompanying wine pairings were very poor value. 3 of us had them at £50 each and for that we had 4 very small glasses of wine. Probably equating to 6 glasses of wine for £150. We could have had, and should've had, 2 or 3 bottles of wine for about the same money. So whilst I recommend the restaurant I cannot recommend taking the wine pairings. More

Very friendly, clean authentic Italian restaurant, service first class they never stopped. Wine list excellent, menu superb, meal cooked to order, fresh and hot tasty and professionally presented. Sweets wow, the special I had topped the whole experience off to a T. Ambience light and airy, with subtle background music, seating comfortable. There was no rushing to eat, in fact we asked for the bill. The wine we chose complimented the meal, even the maitre des said our choice was excellent. Overall the Sorrento is the place to eat, even though it was for a birthday treat we highly recommend the restaurant to any visitor to Stratford upon Avon whether you are there for 1 night or more, this is a must for dining. Book early too as this is a hot restaurant and we were lucky to get a table for a Friday night, it was busy but as I have said the staff never stop, are attentive and pass on your compliments to the chefs.
