Lovely food and nice ambiance with friendly staff 👏👍👌
Brilliant, as ever, best hake I've ever eaten, lovely Napa Cellars Chardonnay
good quality seafood, well prepared, served efficiently in decent surroundings; excellent value for money and would recommend
Consistently good and always the go-to venue when friends visit. They are always impressed.
I would happily recommend Webbe’s for excellent, perfectly-cooked fish in a relaxed and informal environment.
The food and service are always of the highest standard.
For us this was a repeat visit to one of the best fish restaurants in Sussex. Great menu, only one item not available which caused no problem to us, my dover sole well grilled, however I would have preferred to have the sauce served seperately, and was sad that skinny fries not availanle.
Lunchtime meal, excellent tiger prawn starter, whole Dover sole & brown shrimps was good, presentation would have benefitted from some garnish in addition to lemon slice. Generous sized portions of side dishes meant we were too full for anymore, other than coffee.
We went for lunch with relatives and food was delicious as usual. The service was excellent as I changed the time of our table 3 times due to train delays and each time I was greeted with “no problem” perfect and made us very welcome.
I guess in some way we were unlucky but we had to endure sitting at a table full of 12 men from the local golf club having a night out and the noise level was intolerable especially after they had a few drinks. May I suggest to the establishment that they put those kind of function in a private room. I suggest you check that there are no functions booked at the time of booking as it surely did spoil our night. Having said all that I can recommend the food’
We found this restaurant on line - and came with two French vegetarian (but fish loving) friends. Every course was brilliant without exception - the service was excellent and (based on London prices) this was amazing value for money. Would we come again or recommend it - certainly - no doubts at all. Thank you.
Due to the hard surfaces finish in the restaurant noise is not abated and so considerable noisy neighbouring large group tables, made conservation very difficult. Soft furnishings would be very useful to curtail loud raucous noises.
Other than that a very pleasant experience as always.
First class food and service as usual, we enjoy dining at the fish cafe.
Excellent menu and fab service. Decor is simple, menu beautifully considered, dishes well presented and cooked. People lovely. Great wines. Go there!
Our first visit to Webbe's and would definitely go again. Both had steamed plaice and the accompanying vegetables were excellent. Desserts beautifully presented and delicious. Best restaurant fish meal we have had in ages.
Very tasty, beautifully cooked and well presented food.
Diners are booked in at intervals therefore there’s good flow and no long waits.
Would definitely return and recommend
Food was excellent and the service attentive
Its been 12 months since we last visited Rye and the food and service was first class. Excellent Prawn starter and pan fried Gurnard.
Good food, good wine selection, well appointed and excellent service.
Lovely fish platter and fish stew! Staff friendly and accommodating. Nice atmosphere but would have like a little background music. I’ve eaten here twice now and really enjoyed both times. Recommended.
We enjoyed it very much, definitely going there again.
Excellent as usual. The cooking really is tip-top.
An excellent restaurant food, ambience and service very good.
Only downside was the noise level where we were sitting. It seemed extremely high but the restaurant was fairly full. Otherwise an extremely enjoyable evening.
Great restaurant. Food was delicious. Especially the lemon sole and the plaice. Nice wine from a Kent vineyard. Reasonably priced and good service
Great menu choices, good service, lovely dessert! I had the gurnard as a main - a first for me but it was filleted and delicious. My wife had the steamed lemon sole which she liked very much. For dessert we had the ginger pannacotta - delightful! Happy to recommend.
The service was excellent and the meal delicious
Local catch simply and wonderfully prepared. Do eat here.
Lovely restaurant. Last minute decision to go there and we didnt regret it. Highly recommended.
Another wonderful meal with excellent service, can highly recommend
Great lunch as usual, good food and pleasant service.
We usually return to this place couple of times a year on our visits to Rye. As always we are delighted with most delicious and fresh local food, and exceptionally warm service. Thank you
Very nice venue. Fresh, local food, and very well prepared. I just feel that the place needs more “soul”. The service is really professional but not human enough. It’s needs a “personality”. Everything else is perfect.
Service not very well organised and pretty poor which negatively impacted the experience. Food good but nothing amazing.
We had dinner on a Friday night. Efficient, chee4ful and unobtrusive servive, food was elevated above average but not close to Michelin levels but reasonable value. Probably the best restaurant in Rye for dinner for 2.
another great dinner at fish cafe in rye. have been many times, always excellent
Our first visit,we travelled down from Cambridgeshire to eat at Webbes after my wife saw it featured in Great Railway Journeys, we can honestly say it was well worth the trip down to Rye ,
Delicious fish dishes (particularly enjoyed the sharing fish-board starter) and good wine list to accompany. Not over pricey either!
The best fish we’ve had in a long time - beautifully prepared and served. A beautiful room.
Undoubtedly the best fish stew I've ever eaten.Very good service and fair prices so what's not to like.
