The one course we tried was good but I'm afraid the general level of noise was so excessive that we had to leave early. Conversation was very difficult and we regretted not being able to enjoy more than one course.
The food and wine was exceptional and reasonably priced. The service was attentive but not over the top. We really enjoyed the evening.
The food was outstanding. The fish was beautifully cooked - can easily say it was the best we’ve had in a long time and very reasonably priced too! The staff were lovely and friendly, but a little slow at taking orders. The food and overall experience however makes up for the latter. Would 100% go back and recommend to anybody looking for a lovely delicious meal in Rye.
This was one of the best meals we've had in a long time! Fresh ingredients, not salty and perfectly prepared! Highly recommend to anyone visiting anywhere Rye. And surprisingly very reasonably priced! Ameal like this with high quality service would be twice as much in California.
Recommended by a friend. Really enjoyed.
We will return.
We loved this experience. It was perfect for fish lovers, local fish beautifully served and presented. Really friendly helpful staff and a special birthday treat for my husband. The interior design isnt fantastic and no white tablecloths, also no good if you want to eat something other than fish, limited meat/veg choices but fantastic otherwise and perfect for us!
The fish served at Webbe's is of the highest quality and very fresh, but is also delicately cooked and most delicious as a consequence. If you are near Rye, I could not recommend enjoying their seafood menu more highly, particularly if enjoyed with some oysters and washed down with some fine wine.
Excellent food with top notch service. Delicious turbot, very generous portion. Also high quality chocolate parfait with various lime and chocolate accompaniments. Prices very reasonable for the quality of food.
Beautiful food and attentive yet unobtrusive service throughout...we'll bd returning.
This restaurant was recommended by our friends, great service, good timings between service of the food, lovely food well served, fully recommend.
Poor service. Really hard to get attention. Forgot parts of meal.
Food could not be faulted, nor could the service. Not cheap (3 courses with wine £100 for 2) but fair for the quality of food served.
My only quibble was being charged 75p each for bread at the table which I felt should come as standard in an establishment such as this.
Wonderful family lunch. Fabulous oysters, ceviche, nibbles, salads, fish etc
Great value for your money! Friendly service. Excellent wine
Excellent fish dishes imaginatively served and beautifully cooked. Very good value for this quality
I've already recommended to others: lovely food, including kids menu, great service and relaxed atmosphere
Usual excellent service and food. A very enjoyable lunch
Lovely food and nice ambiance with friendly staff 👏👍👌
Large portions of fresh fish and a few local wines on the list
We selected Webbe's for the seafood and we were not disappointed. The Maldon oysters were succulent and my main course of plaice was nicely presented and tasty. The restaurant was busy so advise booking in advance but good service and great value
Attentive staff, very welcoming and friendly. The menu had a good selection of fish and seafood, the dessert was excellent.
Had a nice lunch at The Fish Cafe. Wine was value for money and food good overall. Great fish and chips. Dover sole didn’t get same approval. Puddings were lovely - something that The Fish Cafe takes a lot of effort with. Service is always friendly and efficient.
Brilliant, as ever, best hake I've ever eaten, lovely Napa Cellars Chardonnay
good quality seafood, well prepared, served efficiently in decent surroundings; excellent value for money and would recommend
Consistently good and always the go-to venue when friends visit. They are always impressed.
I would happily recommend Webbe’s for excellent, perfectly-cooked fish in a relaxed and informal environment.
The food and service are always of the highest standard.
For us this was a repeat visit to one of the best fish restaurants in Sussex. Great menu, only one item not available which caused no problem to us, my dover sole well grilled, however I would have preferred to have the sauce served seperately, and was sad that skinny fries not availanle.
Lunchtime meal, excellent tiger prawn starter, whole Dover sole & brown shrimps was good, presentation would have benefitted from some garnish in addition to lemon slice. Generous sized portions of side dishes meant we were too full for anymore, other than coffee.
We went for lunch with relatives and food was delicious as usual. The service was excellent as I changed the time of our table 3 times due to train delays and each time I was greeted with “no problem” perfect and made us very welcome.
I guess in some way we were unlucky but we had to endure sitting at a table full of 12 men from the local golf club having a night out and the noise level was intolerable especially after they had a few drinks. May I suggest to the establishment that they put those kind of function in a private room. I suggest you check that there are no functions booked at the time of booking as it surely did spoil our night. Having said all that I can recommend the food’
We found this restaurant on line - and came with two French vegetarian (but fish loving) friends. Every course was brilliant without exception - the service was excellent and (based on London prices) this was amazing value for money. Would we come again or recommend it - certainly - no doubts at all. Thank you.
Due to the hard surfaces finish in the restaurant noise is not abated and so considerable noisy neighbouring large group tables, made conservation very difficult. Soft furnishings would be very useful to curtail loud raucous noises.
Other than that a very pleasant experience as always.
First class food and service as usual, we enjoy dining at the fish cafe.
Excellent menu and fab service. Decor is simple, menu beautifully considered, dishes well presented and cooked. People lovely. Great wines. Go there!
Our first visit to Webbe's and would definitely go again. Both had steamed plaice and the accompanying vegetables were excellent. Desserts beautifully presented and delicious. Best restaurant fish meal we have had in ages.
Very tasty, beautifully cooked and well presented food.
Diners are booked in at intervals therefore there’s good flow and no long waits.
Would definitely return and recommend
Food was excellent and the service attentive
Its been 12 months since we last visited Rye and the food and service was first class. Excellent Prawn starter and pan fried Gurnard.
