Great restaurant. First time we have eaten at Webbe’s and we weren’t disappointed. Great menu and novel ways of presenting great fresh food. Would definitely recommend.
Four of us dined at Webbe’s on a busy Saturday evening, but the service was still excellent despite a full house.
Every dish was delicious and we couldn’t fault anything.
We definitely recommend Webbe’s!
After reading many positive reviews about the food, my partner and I were disappointed with our meal. Starters of squid and prawns were average and our mains - lemon sole and fish stew - were decidedly bland.
All four meals were delicious, service was quick and friendly.
Food was excellent especially the Fish stew and service was exceptional would definitely eat here again.
Great lunch, our second visit. The Dover Sole was to die for! Another successful visit to one of Webbe's restaurants.
Excellent food, same for the service, and highly professional. Not surprising the only table available was at 6.00pm on a Friday night.
Third visit and will certainly be back again for more! Excellent food and service as always.
Brilliant discovery food great service very good would certainly go back
Excellent fish restaurant serving food which is fresh and of great quality
Food was ok, my husband said not his fish stew was lacking in flavour. Although I had advised in advance that I am coeliac and would required a gluten free diet, they had run out of gluten free bread at 6.30 in the evening. Gluten free options were limited but enjoyed what I had.
Stunning meal despite it being their busiest night so far, Rye Bay Scallop week and our booking being one of the last of the evening everything was cooked exquisitely. Every dish was an experience and tasted amazing. We loved it and will definitely return.
We had the scallop tasting menu, it was excellent and gave a wide range of scallop menus. The atmosphere was good (upstairs) and the service was so attentive. We will return to try the non scallop menu. Thank you
Oysters were perfect..decided to have the scallop tasting menu , the salmon and scallop with pear was the only dish that let the menu down it was pretty nondescript.Good bread and wine to accompany the dishes.
We had lunch during the Scallop Festival and it was great to see such an extensive menu to showcase these. Between our party we had the scallops pan fried and served with a cider reduction, black pudding and apple as a starter which was good and a stand out main course of pan fried scallops with a chive and vermouth sauce with pancetta. The steamed flounder main course wasn’t so successful - steaming the grey tinged fillets did nothing to make them look appetising and despite a nice white wine sauce the fish still tasted a little muddy. The home made ice creams with almond tuile were lovely and the chocolate parfait with marshmallow was ok. Wine and coffee were good. A mixed meal overall. Service I sent always pleasant and efficient.
Fantastic food and superb service. The scallops were great and the sweets v good indeed. Really fair price too. Would def go again. Perfect lunch.
Very good meal with delicious ingredients and interesting combinations. Service was prompt and I would recommend it to anyone visiting a Rye who likes fish.
Excellent food and serice. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the tables far enough apart so as not to feel cramped. A very good experience and would definitely visit again if we are in Rye.
Visited for the scallop festival, had the tasting menu which was fabulous. Not rushed, service excellent, except for paying the bill which took 20 mins.
Honestly one of the best meals I have ever eaten, I had garlic prawns to start and sirloin steak for my mains. Just lovely.
Lovely gin cocktails and a bottle of tasty fizz!
Staff were amazing on a very busy night.
Fantastic evening catching up with friends.
Excellent food, excellent service, we will return !
Excellent choices on offer and those we went for were excellent
This restaurant never fails to deliver. The quality is exceptional and the price very good. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We will come back again and again.
It was Rye Scallop week and a very busy venue , we have been here on several occasions and would say not up to normal excellent standard ,maybe because it was so busy?
Amazing from every point of view
It’s one of me and my wife’s favourite restaurants 😊 the food and service is always excellent. We book in advance to ensure a table. I’m always recommending it to people. The steak was to die for and the smoked salmon with pickled vegetables so good. We even shared a dessert this timewhich we wouldn’t normally have 😊portion sizes are just right.
Delicious fresh fish and seafood - expertly prepared - good combination of flavours.
Great food, extremely good service and pleasant ambience. Very good dining experience.
We had the best meal I have eaten for some time. The menu offers a range of fish dishes all freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The atmosphere and service are simple and unfussy with the emphasis throughout on the food. I would thoroughly recommend Webbe's to anybody who likes fish and is looking for something special.
The food was fantastic particularly the brill with squid ink gnocchi and the posset for dessert. There was only really one thing we didn't like foodwise and that was the peanut dipping sauce that went with the monkfish starter as it tasted a little earthy. The gin and blood orange cocktail was delicious. The place emptied out really early, which didn't do much for the ambience, and a little soft music may have been good.
Nice looking restaurant. We ordered 2 Dover sole which were delicious. However portions were small and it would have been nice to have had complimentary bread to dip in the sauce as happens in Europe. Service was ok but a bit diffident.
Lovely place, great food and service - quiet when we first got there but ambience improved with a few more tables (we ate early as we had cinema tickets.) Husband loved the fish stew and me the beef fillet would definitely recommend.
Excellent food; one of the best meals I've had in a long while. Both of our starters + mains had fantastic flavours + combinations; very well thought out. (And good quantities, not just some frilly arrangement in the middle of the plate!)
Good service, nice atmosphere. Highly recommended overall.
A must try restaurant if near Rye. The food was excellent along with a welcoming and attentive (but not overly) staff.
A very nice restaurant with a pleasant menu and excellent quality food.
The staff and friendly, polite and professional.
The restaurant has a nice ambience, although the acoustics, did create a slightly noisy restaurant area.
Overall, would highly recommend.
Excellent quality food and service. Friendly and efficient staff, will definitely revisit.
Friendly and knowledgable staff. Amazing food! Beautiful building. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Very disappointing standard of food in comparision with the Hastings Webbe,s
A lovely meal, and made more so by the fantastic service, from bringing forward our reservation on request, then turning up late, and then even giving us a little pot of milk to take home for tea as all the shops had shut! We'll be back!
Initial service a tiny bit slow, but overall a really good meal. All the food was very well cooked with some interesting combinations. Would definitely recommend.
