This was our first visit and was an excellent experience. The food was marvellous and the staff were very attentive. Would highly recommend it to anyone who is a fish lover.
Went here for mid week meal with friends. Food was delicious and service was good. The staff were welcoming and friendly. It was a quiet mid week evening so difficult to judge ambiance but I'd definitely recommend it and will be going back.
oysters perfect, small taster plates v good, myvmain plate -panache- v disappointing with tasteless overcooked fish. i was told the fish stew was good though. the Rye branch has turbot on the menu and that was good last time i went there, not on menu at rock a nore unfortunately. wine list ok- the chablis goes down well.
The food was absolutely delicious, will definitely go back again. Highly recommend.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Webbes with good food and service. Will definitely be coming back!
Food a little disappointing - menu sounded lovely but some of it didn’t quite hit the mark, sauces overpowering, balance not quite right.
Absolutely amazing food and service. Had such a great evening
Outstanding service at this seafront restaurant offering freshly caught local fish. It was a pleasure to eat lunch there. I enjoyed my skate wing and my friend was very happy with her potted crab. Definitely want to visit again.
This was our second visit, this time bringing friends. Our lunch was the focus of a thoroughly enjoyable day out by the sea. The freshly cooked fish was outstanding, and we liked the friendly, bustling and unpretentious atmosphere.
Great meal and service as always. Hake dish was particularly delicious.
Menu does not appear to change (there are specials which do) so would no make to many close repeat visits
All Ok, food was very good rather than exceptional. We were asked twice whether the steak should be rare, it was medium rare, rare means rare. Black bream was lovely. Service was friendly and came across as a little inexperienced but in an endearing way. Started clearing chairs away whilst we were still eating, it was not late, 9 ish. We would go again.
This is one of our favourite restaurants, in the area. They cater for all dietary requirements too amazing service, and food. The fact staff recognises us is a bonus
Sadly we didn't have a good experience. We were seated by the door so it was draughty and disruptive with people in and out and waiting to be seated,. We ordered olives, taramasalata and bread sticks and then a main course and we had only just received the olives etc when a young waiter plonked down our main courses leaving us with little option but to abandon the other food and eat that. Nobody came to ask if we enjoyed our main course either. So we paid the bill and left.
Absolutely superb. Really enjoyed our lunch here- the food is just outstandingly yummy! Gluten free, dairy free options not a problem. Front of house staff absolutely wonderful- nothing is too much trouble. Can not wait to go back!!
I love this restaurant it is the relaxed atmosphere and great service.the staff are professional and friendly and make sure you have a great experience. I will let my friends know about this little gem. Looking forward to my next visit.
Service was 1st class the staff were very busy but nothing was too much trouble, excellent. Starters wre plentiful and tasty, for main course my partner had the Dover Sole and said it was "SUPERB" I had the bread crumbed plaice with beetroot poached egg and crispy prosciutto it was perfectly ok but a slightly weird mix of flavors and textures. The venue is a little tired with basic furniture sadly a little Hastingsish with toilet facilities to match. An enjoyable evening.
Lovely food beautifully cooked and presented good service stand out dish plaice
Great lunch. Excellent food and lovely staff. Definitely recommend
Very good and friendly service, fantastic food, very clean restaurant, and decent value for money.
Definitely recommend and looked forward to returning
Very good evening with excellent food all 3 courses and plenty of choice. Service was excellent, timely and attentive. The atmosphere was good too if a little noisy for those hard of hearing!
Food was ok but not that great. Rather tasteless and served tepid. Side vegetables were cold. Overall not worth the money
Great as always, seafood platter lovely and great value.
Called taxi for us too, will always eat here when in Hastings.
Living in Hastings Webbes is one of our favourite places to go. We neede space for our friend with mobility problems and staff were quick to help us to the right table.
I love seeing the food prepared in the kitchen.
Our meal was delicious as it always is and the fish is definitely the way to go. Leave space for the yummy pudfings!!
Couldn’t fault the whole experience. The staff were warm and the service excellent. The fish dishes were delicious and excellent value!
Food, service and wonderful staff absolutely brilliant, I love taking my family there.
My husband ordered the plaice special. It was so small with just a sauce and side dish. Not worth £16,
The saffron fish I had was delicious. Not at anytime during our meal did anyone ask if everything was ok.
When we explained to the waitress (as she cleared the plates)my husband was disappointed with his meal her response was “well I don’t get to choose the fish size”! We also did not like being called ladies and gentlemen we were only a couple! The evening felt like there was lack of a person in charge.
A wonderful meal as always. Webbes never fails to provide a great experience. All meals we’ve tried are excellent. We had a lovely time.
Excellent food and service as always. Would recommend to anyone to enjoy.
We're used to London prices, so pricing to us was fair.
Food was average.
Fish and chips = fish sat in oil and so soggy underneath, hand cut chips quite dry,not convinced they were home made, tiniest pot of mushy peas & tartar sauce was split.
3 of 5 of the party arrived on time with 2 of us 5 mins late.
Waitress, may have been a supervisor as she wasnt wearing the same as the waiting staff reaction after briefly viewing menu 'will you be ready to order today?' Unecessary since there was no time limit on the table and we d clearly just arrived.
We were asked to order drinks before we'd been shown the drinks menu. There was only 1 virgin cocktail on the drinks menu we could find. To say it's a seafood restaurant by the sea, it didnt bowl me over..would not revisit, and for what we had would go the traditional al fish and chip shop/restaurant up the road.
Lovely family meal with our six year old daughter. Top quality food and all staff were great with her.
Always wonderful food and excellent service from happy, polite staff, can’t fault Webbes!
Lovely food, great restaurant. Busy even on a Wednesday lunchtime.
Probably not the most wonderful surroundings but food and service surpass. Really enjoyed the whole dinner experience and all fish superbly cooked!
Waitress service was good . Food was good. But the overall experience was marred by the front of house manager who was rude and abrupt upon our arrival.
Seating area outside always has rubbish on the floor.
Charming elegant restaurant. Fantastic choices on menu especially fish dishes. Service excellent and very friendly.
Food was amazing, service not so great. We ordered 3 soft drinks which arrived in dirty glasses. I returned mine to the waitress and she just stared at the glass and asked what’s wrong with it? I then discovered the other 2 drinks were also in dirty glasses, she came storming over and again (almost angry), asked what’s wrong with them. I was made to feel uncomfortable as she had served our drinks in dirty glasses - no apology nothing. She avoided our table the rest of the time we was dining but then when the bill was dropped leaned in and whispered to my sister in law that the soft drinks had been removed from the bill and apologised. I appreciate that but she should have spoken to me - clearly not trained in dealing with issues.
No check back done on the mains - a real must for a Restaurant like this. I had to get up from the table to ask for Bread. Cutlery was being polished at the bar but that on our table wasn’t, I wiped mine myself.
This is a fab Restaurant, the staff just need some training. Handing plates to clientele instead of placing them, incapable of carrying trays correctly, serving drinks in dirty glasses, waiting staff with hair down (one attached to my husbands water bottle). The correct training and it would be a little gem.
Cannot fault the food at all, beautiful dishes and well presented.
A lovely evening , the food was very good.
Wasn't impressed were the table was situated next to a busy bar. Felt claustrophobic people coming and going in and out of the bar. Apart from that everything else was good. Great food and service. I would definitely eat there again but not book online. I would advise go and book at the restaurant so you can see what table is available.
