Excellent meal, and great service. 3 excellent causes and decent portions.
Food wasnt picky, it was lovely and flavoursome. I had the pigeon for starter and steak for main, and both were cooked to perfection!
I would highly recommend this, great for special occassions!
Creative combination of food. Good service. Good list of wine. The room is kind of small.
As always Wedgwood didn't disappoint - everything super from the champagne with amuse bouche to the sticky toffee pudding. Special mention for the venison haggis - absolutely superb! Well done to the team - a great evening despite the downpour getting there!
Absolutely fantastic! I took my wife there for her birthday and they treated us brilliantly. I asked in advance for a table upstairs (which is a must!) and they accommodated us perfectly
The food was impeccable and the staff were very knowledgeable with the menu and giving wine/whisky recommendations.
I'll definitely be going here again next time I'm in Edinburgh!
Excellent as always. Probably in my top 3 restaurants in Edinburgh.
Wedgwood The Restaurant - Lovely meal, great wine selection, excellent service. We will definately return.
WE DINED AT THE WEDGEWOOD EDINBURGH ON 13TH DECEMBER 2011.THE SEVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND WELL INFORMED.THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT WITH A GOOD CHOICE TO SUIT ALL TASTES.THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS ON ENTERING THE RESTAURANT WHICH IS QUITE SMALL WAS BUSY AND WE WERE OFFERED SEATING DOWNSTAIRS.MY HUSBAND IS DISABLED AND THE STAIRS PRESENTED A PROBLEM. THE STAFF IMMEDIATELY OFFERED US A ALTERNATIVE TABLE UPSTAIRS BUT POINTED OUT THAT THE TOILETS WERE DOWNSTAIRS.A POINT TO REMEMBER.
Wedgewood, Edinburgh. sophisticated restaurant, though we were given a strange table downstairs which did detract from the mood. starter of panko fried mullet, great and interesting. fillet steak, good cut of meat, bit well done, but good never the less. service, friendly and attentive.
Strangely, on the day we were due to visit the restaurant they left a message on our answering machine asking us to re-confirm our booking. A bit irritating.
Meal itself was fine, cooking to a high standard. Service was pretty good.
Seemed slightly pricey for what it was, but probably about par for Edinburgh.
I would have liked to have been thanked for my custom. That always leaves a good impression.
Lovely food and really good service at the Wedgwood. The pressed apple juices are lovely.
Food was really well presented and really tasty.
Birthday outing for my partner - we loved it! Simple surroundings and concentration on good food, mixing strong flavours to brilliant effect. Low on scallops, Paul was happy to offer up those he had left with pork belly as starter size, so my partner didn't miss out on what he really wanted. Only gripe was that the venison wasn't as tender as it should've been. Fantastic restaurant with excellent staff - we look forward to revisiting.
Our meal at Wedgwood in Edinburgh was excellent. The chef readily replaced the meat part of the amuse bouche with a veggie version and did the same with the ham in part of my main. Service was attentive without being intrusive and offering to arrange a taxi at the end of the meal was much appreciated.
Wedgwood The Restaurant was lovely. The food was delicious and although appears to be small portions we were actually very full at the end of our meal. The lobster starter was smooth and delicious and the pork belly main melts in your mouth. Service was excellent - we had a 9.15pm booking but we didn't feel rushed to leave when we were still there at 11.30pm. Cosy and romantic venue in a good location.
A truly excellent meal in a friendly and stylish environment. There's a good choice of interesting dishes - I had rabbit wrapped in proscutto on spinach for my main course. My food and those of the people around me was well presented. The service was excellent. The restaurant is small and busy - so booing is essential, but quiet and intimate.
We went for dinner at Wedgwood. The food was cooked at perfection. the service was friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who come to Edinburgh.
Consistenly wonderful at every level. Deserves is place as number one in Edinburgh!
A warm intimate dining room with excellent ambience. Interesting menu and good quality cooking. Friendly efficient service.
After a hectic afternoon and early evening taking in anumber of Fringe shows the peace and quiet of the Wedgwood on Edinbugh's Canongate was a welcome relief. The service was efficient without being fussy and the food lived up to expectations. Two dishes stood out the lamb and the King scallops but nothing disappointed. Would definitely recommend as a good location for a special nght out
Not as good as previous visit a year ago, or maybe it was down to choices. Enjoyed the lamb main course but not the shoestring potatoes which were more like crisps, would have ordered another side but it was very busy and didn't want to wait as mains had already taken a while to come. Wine seemed much more expensive than last year.
Had a wonderful meal at Wedgwood Edinburgh on Saturday evening, Very nice selection, service was excellent! Would definitely recommend it.
Special occasion husband's birthday that I had booked using Toptable. Was therefore bit disappointed that they did not have my confirmed booking in their restaurant book. However after a while they must have checked their online bookingsystem for Toptable and we were ushered to a table for two at the top of stairs in their restaurant leading to the shared toilet in basement with plenty of traffic. Evening did not commence well and did not enjoy seating arrangements.
Excellent food - lovely atmosphere.
First Time in Wedgewood and certainly not the last. The food, service, decor and wines all fantastic! The star of the show was Lauren, she chose a beautiful bottle of Pouilly Fume and wine pairings for the main course! Couldnt have chosen better myself! Her service was flawless. Thanks you Wedgewood and Lauren we will be back!
I had eaten at Wedgwood Restaurant, Edinburgh in March 2011 and had the most fantastic dining experience, and I have since recommended it to many friends. But was bitterly disappointed with the service that we received on Friday 27th May. The food itself was good, but not as good as our previous visit. The toilets were rather dirty and the hand clothes were a disgusting colour of yellow. Unfortunately we will probably not go back, which is such a pity.
Wedgwood Edinburgh - great venue, top food service and wine. will def return when I visit Edinburgh. Not to be missed!
A lovely evening at this cosy restaurant. Service was attentive without being obtrusive, setting was lovely and the hostess couldn't have been any nicer. We started with the amuse bouche and a glass of champagne, and all 3 courses that followed were fabulous - easily michelin star quality. Would highly recommend the restaurant. 4 courses and a bottle of wine still under £100 - excellent value.
our first visit and we'll be back- we had a really great meal and wines- food was delicious and interesting, service excellent (if a little over chirpy) and all tables were full giving a great atmosphere
Wedgwood in Edinburgh.
an excellent restaurent, very good food and exceptional service. highly recomendable.
Anoither very good dinner at Wedgewood.
Care could have been taken with the toilets which had become a bit messy.
Very disappointed. The service and the palate cleanser between courses being the only redeeming features. The starters were fairly good but my main course of beef was very overdone, the sauce was far too rich and the pont neufs and carrot raw. My husbands main course was a joke and looked more like an appetiser. The dessert was fairly tasteless and a very bizarre combination of textures, my husbands fudge was again a disappointing portion size. The cost of this meal far outweighed it's value.
Wedgewood The Restaurant in Edinburgh was one of the best meals and experiences we have had - this place should have a Michelin star! The food was no less than stunning. The 'deciding time' amuse bouche with champagne was a great idea and our starters were absolutely fantastic - the lobster creme brulee especially was like nothing I have ever tasted, absolutely delicious. Mains and desserts were also lovely, especially the sea bass. Everything was perfect and the staff were brilliant. Thank you!
Wedgewood Restaurant, Edinburgh. We ate here on 8th April. Despite not having our booking (not sure if this was their fault or Tob Tables) they made sure we were seated and looked after superbly. One of the best meals we have had.
Visited Wedgwood in Edinburgh last weekend and had a fantastic meal! Deciding time - glass of champagne and some amuse bouche was a brilliant start to a meal! The food was wonderful, almost as good as in a Michelin starred restaurant, and staff were attentive. Only issues were that the mains were slightly too salty and we were seated next to a pillar. Excellent place for a special occasion and will definitely visit again!
Lovely spot in edinburgh. Perfect for good conversations. Fantasric rioja. Really good mains.
Excellent meal! Nice service and really good food. We were downstairs so I've marked down slightly on ambience but still very nice. I'll definitely go back!
Fantastic meal at the wedgewood! Had fillet steak with haggis and brandy sauce which was fab! Great wine list and waiting staff extremely friendly! Definitely will go back soon!
Wedgewood Edinburgh. Excellent in every way. Lamb was fabulous. Wine superb and Cheese selection best in Scotland
Excellent food with friendly hosts.
The Deer was fantastic, as was the Pork Belly.
Some of the best cooked food we have had.
Wedgwood was an excellent restaurant: the food was great, but just as importantly so were the friendly and knowledgable staff.
Excellent modern British cuisine and friendly efficient service that challenges some of its better known and Michelin recognised contemporaries in Edinburgh's restaurant scene without ever feeling too pretentious.
