Lovely place for dinner in Edinburgh, or even just some light bites and whisky tasting. We were waited on by Kim who was very friendly and helpfuland, sharing some local knowledge on things to do for the rest of our stay in Edinburgh.

Great traditional food done in a modern way. Fantastic whisky list to match the wonderful food. Remember to leave some room for the amazing deserts.

Great place to taste whisky. They bring a flight of four small glasses on a placemat that has information about each one you taste. Our server, David, was very knowledgeable about whisky and helped us learn more . Good food, too.

First visit and will definitely go back. Food was excellent and service could not be faulted. Tables outside for a pre dinner drink were ideal on a warm sunny evening

Great whiskey flights and yummy entrees (aka european for appetizers) but mains should have been higher quality given the locale, quality of drinks and the price. Fish and chips were not as crispy or flavorful as expected, and sea bass was a bit tough. Also the sticky chocolate dessert not so sticky and cake not moist - forgettable. Very unfortunate considering the quality of everything else and the lovely presentation. But, the haggis spring rolls are to die for. Service and atmosphere equally stellar.

This is a fun casual restaurant with a great selection of Scotch whiskeys and creative cocktails. This is high quality Scottish pub food mixed in with servers who know their stuff about whiskeys. You would be hard pressed to find an establishment in Edinburgh that serves such great comfort food with such an extensive whiskey menu.

Whisky flights are pre-set to eliminate anxiety over pairings! That was a nice option I didn’t see many other places. We split the haggis bon bon, I had the salmon and my boyfriend had the ribeye. Both of us agreed it was the best meal we had on our vacation. Andrea was awesome and let us go into the shop to purchase some of the whisky we tasted even though the shop was technically closed. They took their time to pack it with bubble wrap to make sure it got back to Ohio in tact.

Wild mushroom crostini starter just ok, looked more like regular button mushrooms... Cullen skink very good. Rib eye steak cooked medium rare as requested, very good, fillet steak more rare than medium rare so not as good as hoped but ok..... generally nice meal, starter and main service was almost too quick but we were not pressured to leave our table....overall fine.

We went for the lunch menu 3 courses for £15. They gave large portions and food was very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. We also shared a whiskey tasting board which was fun and good way to try different types of whiskey. Would recommend to anyone in Edinburgh for a trip.

Excellent steak and some really tasty cocktails. Slight downside was that we were beside a very noisy group who made it very hard to hear ourselves think so it would have been nice to be somewhere further away from them.

Aside from that it was a lovely meal and would definitely recommend!

We had high hopes for this spot - the interior is gorgeous, and the charcuterie plate was delicious. That said, the food was just okay. I got the venison, which came highly recommended, and my husband got the lamb, and both were extremely bland. My husband did enjoy his whiskey flight, though, and the service was great.

The staff seem to be on a power trip, very arrogant! The food was nice but with the steak being a similar price to Kyloe, the quality wasn’t the same so we felt that it was over priced. Our starters came straight away and main course came quicker than we expected too, felt rushed and that they were needing the table back, even though we booked in advance. There are better places to go if you want to spend over £100 in less than an hour.

The service was very good our server being very attentive. Had the Cullen Skink to start - not the best was a bit too thin, needed more cream to the mix. Haggis /neeps/tatties ok but a bit pricey for this dish. Overall though it was a bit overpriced for what was served to our table.

Service seemed rushed. As soon as plates were down we were being asked for next course choice. Also waiter making crude comments about female diners did not help
