Very enjoyable night with good food and whisky. Lucas very attentive and good sense of humor. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Really enjoyed our evening here. The food was well presented and tasty. The ribeye steak was expensive but beautiful. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with excellent friendly service. Would highly recommend.
The staff seem to be on a power trip, very arrogant! The food was nice but with the steak being a similar price to Kyloe, the quality wasn’t the same so we felt that it was over priced. Our starters came straight away and main course came quicker than we expected too, felt rushed and that they were needing the table back, even though we booked in advance. There are better places to go if you want to spend over £100 in less than an hour.
The service was very good our server being very attentive. Had the Cullen Skink to start - not the best was a bit too thin, needed more cream to the mix. Haggis /neeps/tatties ok but a bit pricey for this dish. Overall though it was a bit overpriced for what was served to our table.
Service seemed rushed. As soon as plates were down we were being asked for next course choice. Also waiter making crude comments about female diners did not help
We went for lunch after visiting the royal mile and it was the perfect setting! The menu is authentic Scottish but with something for everyone! The venue is beautiful and very light- just perfect!
Prettige ontvangst en zeer vlotte bediening. Lekker eten voor democratische prijs. Alleen de tafels zijn aan de kleine kant en staan dus overvol tijdens het eten.
Really good haggis! Lovely meal, friendly staff and good selection of Scottish food and drink!
Great food and drink selection. Staff we're very welcoming, would recommend you book because they can get busy.
Great atmosphere and really delicious food. One of my favourite spots in Edinburgh.
Very lovely place, the whisky bar is massive and this is the place to taste and discover the finest drinks!
perfect place to eat too, good food and very nice staff, helpfull, funny and efficient.
Really, have a stop there and have a good moment!
Food and service were excellent.
We found the service brusk to say the least. They were rushed, so we felt rushed. We were not asked if we were enjoying our meal.
My fish was odd. Never seen fish like it. It was rolled in a croquette shape! It was extremely dry and had no taste.
The two who had steaks seemed to enjoy. The chicken appeared to be slightly pink near the bone too.
The meal plus drinks seemed expensive to us. No starters, we shared deserts. 2 steaks, 1chicken 1fish. 3 beers 1bottle wine and 3 whiskies. £190!
On the positive side, we had a lovely table with a view. And we could see the waiter being friendly to a table of young girls!
Fanastic good, excellent and friendly service, nice atmosphere
Very good food (steak and salmon), whiski and attentive staff.
Perfect meal for our first wedding anniversary, great food, exceptional service and lovely gin!
Excellent place for dinner and drinks. Our server, Lukasz, was especially great.
Food was delicious, ambiance was pleasant, wait staff was exceedingly friendly!
Very well presented and friendly atmosphere, food was exquisite and staff were friendly and helpful when asking questions.
Meal and evening as a whole was amazing! Really enjoyed it all. Service was outstanding!
Great service the polish waiter was very helpful and friendly
Ordered pan fried prawns which were delicious then
Chateaubriand beautiful and tender, the cherry toms that
Came with the salad were amazing . Flight 4 whisky selection
Was delightful.
Nice cosy and intimate room
Food simple, delicious and quite authentic. Service friendly and efficient
Once again a thoroughly lovely all round experience. A great place to find comfort in the freezing conditions.
Birthday lunch and it was fantastic. Tracey was friendly, efficient and helpful which made our dining experience special.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food ,the steak was cooked to perfection, very nice ambience and friendly relaxed service .Would have no hesitation in recommending to others.
Only second visit to this little gem. Lovely honest food beautifully prepared hot and filling perfect on freezing day. Cullen skink did not disappoint and I can’t stop thinking about the joy of the Parmesan fries. The steak ale pie was apparently full of tender juicy steak and you could actually taste the ale. Fantastic waitress very intuitive to our needs. Couldn’t manage dessert unfortunately but we had coffee and mooched around the whisky shop . Nice way to spend a couple of hours .
good location, great service, friendly. food average and rather touristy ( with matching prices) but quick service and worked for us
Very warm and welcoming bar/bistro. Staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgable about the menu and the vast selection of Whisky on offer.
Staff in the shop couldn't have helped out more when looking for that different Whisky to take home.
I booked the Whiski Rooms for dinner as my husband is a big fan of whiskey! He started dinner with a whisky cocktail which he enjoyed so much he is now going to recreate it at home!
Dinner was good, I particularly liked the haggis spring rolls which I had as a starter, hubby had smoked salmon three ways which he really enjoyed. My main course was lamb which was excellent although a little too large a portion, hubby had the venison which he said was OK although he hoped for a little more imagination from the chef. No room for pudding.... the wine was disappointing for the £40 price tag, have had better for that money elsewhere.
Service was good, friendly waiter and nice buzzy atmosphere.
Nothing wrong with the restaurant and I would go back but with so many options I probably won't...
Amazing food & lovely setting. Service was exceptional. Our server, Lucas, was very friendly & a good laugh adding to our experience.
So many delicious options to choose from! The cullen skink is a deffo!!
Would 100% recommend & will be visiting again!
Booked a meal here through Open Table, the reviews were great and they were absolutely right!
Outstanding steaks, delicious desserts, great wine and let’s not forget the wee dram we enjoyed to finish off the meal!
Excellent food and wonderful staff. We enjoyed a wonderful first evening in Edinburgh in this restaurant with a nice atmosphere and good traditional food (and whiskey!).
Came here with my partner. The food was delicious and well worth the money. The service was also very good and attentive. Will definitely come back.
Great chill out vibe with classy decor and great food. Would highly recommend!!
Some friends recommended the whiski rooms really enjoyed everything would def return
Valentines dinner we expected casual dining and the place was perfect. Twinkly lights. Dark wood finishes amazing view lovely waitress. Started with Cullen skunk might be best ever tasted perfect balance of ingredients. Husbands steak was cold and he rejected it - staff professional offered replacement. As vegetarian I felt choice was limited as menu heavy on carnivore fare. Veg haggis was ok. Dessert & wine lovely. Will def go back though and soon
Good service and the food was nice only thing wrong tables are to close u can hear next person's cinversation
Stopped in for a bit of simple lunch and was very impressed with the freshness and presentation of the food. ordered from the set menu 3 courses for £15, worth it 👍
Absolutely Fantastic food, great value for money , Waitress was very friendly , fabulous place for food and drink definitely recommending to friends and family who visit Edinburgh
Beautiful menu beautiful food definitely will be back
