White Oak Tavern
Our scratch kitchen offers a wide variety of tavern fare with a slow foods emphasis and a nod toward things past. Our offerings are best shared amongst friends with selections from our craft beer, wine and cocktail lists. In true tavern tradition, we pride ourselves on a delicate care for our craft and a warm friendly smile to all who call to our door.
Best food, drinks and atmosphere. Love this place!!
I enjoyed the ambiance. My date said her steak was salty but we had a good time.
Great place for lunch. Busy but quiet. Relaxed attitude of servers and staff. Good food. What more can you ask for from a spot for lunch? It has become a regular for me.
Great atmosphere, good food and drinks. Booked this for a birthday party and it worked well.
A wonderful place to get together with friends and enjoy good food and amazing music
It’s a great place for a group of friends to get together!
Went for lunch on a holiday Monday with 2 kids. Was pleasantly surprised to find a kids menu.
Great for casual bar food or a drink. Tons of space so don't have to worry about seating. Slow service.
Cozy and spacious pub. Perfect for a long lunch with friends!
Great ambiance, location and menu, could use a bit better execution on the food. Such a fun place to go. Upscale, creative British pub fare. Could have used a green alongside the steak frites so the steak did not look so, well, lonely. Bangers & Mash were great. Mac & Cheese a little bland. Give it a try, though. Had nice live music that was not at all obtrusive or noisy.
I discovered White Oak Tavern a year ago while my brother was visiting for Christmas 2018 and have been many times since. It is my go to dining spot for brunch, lunch or dinner and the first place I think of taking out of town guests. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is fantastic and the food is always great.
Nice place for a girls brunch!
Food was served cold. And after being told it would be made for me fresh again, it was served even colder.
It was our first time there and we had a wonderful and delicious brunch... Look forward to going back!..
My sisters and I get together once a year in NYC at holiday time. I read about White Oak Tavern and was thrilled to book a table. You did not disappoint. The atmosphere was exhilarating. White Oak screamed of Christmas and the wait staff was in a festive mood. Happy Hour drink prices were quite reasonable and the wine selection was great. The crispy Brussels Sprouts were delicious as was the Mac and cheese. We shared a yummy chocolate dessert that truly hit the spot. Our hotel was at 32nd between 6th and 5th and we walked to White Oak and back, not a bad walk even in the chilly December temps. White Oak is on our list for a return visit! Thank you for a marvelous Friday evening!
It is Holiday season and there was a party going on, so it was very noisy and somewhat difficult to hear our friends sitting across the table. The food was good. The server was stretched thin as the place was very busy. We agreed to try this another time, but on a weekday non-holiday period.
Great, friendly service. The menu is diverse, with a lot of options for vegetarians, vegans, and meat-eaters. It’s a lively place, but still quiet enough for comfortable conversation over dinner.
Loved the ambience! Classic tavern setting. Cozy and comfortable. Beautifully decorated for the holidays.
Food was good—except their chicken pot pie. It was more like very watery chicken soup topped with a pastry crust.
Second time here. Decor is cozy and charming. Interesting menu and good service.
BUT - dance music blasting at 6:00 PM. Could not have a conversation. Ruined the evening, so we won’t return.
I really enjoyed White Oak the first time I went which is why i went back again. The bloody marys were strong and nothing special. The service was a little slow. My omelet was on the skimpy side and not filled with a lot. Overall the portions were small.
Had a fantastic brunch at this adorable tavern. The menu choices were just right. Wait staff and bar service were friendly and attentive. Do yourself a favor and order the French Toast best we ever had!!!
White Oak Tavern was ok. The noise level was very high so the server had trouble hearing orders. The hostess was not the most friendly or inviting first impression of the establishment that you would like. The service seemed a little rushed as the server kept trying to get us to place our order while we were having our first drink and had not looked at the menu. Would I go out of my way to eat at this restaurant, no. Would I go again if I was in the neighborhood? Probably.
Pleasant atmosphere, great food and drinks. Perfect Happy hour location.
Great drink selection and flavors, especially whiskey. Food was very good too, especially Brussels sprouts, Mac and cheese, and the steak frites. DJ was playing some great vibes too!
I love this place, have been many times and will return again and again. That said it was a little disappointing this time. The fish and chips which I've had before was somewhat greasy and the sticky toffee pudding should be called something else. It's simply not sticky toffee pudding not to mention the cake was extremely dry. Again... I really do love this place. Great atmosphere, food and service but this time it was a bit of a miss.
Perfect neighborhood spot, great food, charming staff, beautifully appointed
This restaurant is so dark and cozy it’s very relaxing! The food is really excellent, chopped salad was amazing, burger very good! Love the beer selection. Service great, very friendly and attentive. Very busy but still paid attention to us. Pumpkin sundae was incredible. No one rushed us out. Can’t wait to go back! Right around the corner from Washington square park to walk/digest after!
Great for the whole family! Kids included- delicious cocktails and yummy good!!
My honey and I went in support of a friend playing music there Sunday night. Food was out of this world!! Prices are fair. Our server kept apologizing for the wait. We never felt as though we were waiting long at all. Such great staff. Parking was a breeze. We’re thinking that WOT is now part of our Sunday in NYC routine. Broadway matinee and the 11 minute ride over to WOT for some good music, good food and good people!! Thank you!!
My friends and I had a great time, wonderful food and service!
Excellent food and service but REALLY loud. When I came back later that night with some other friends for a drink the music the DJ was playing was so loud it was actually hard to hear my friends on the other side of the table.
We loved the place! Great service and delicious food. The pasta dish was a bit small, but was great all the same!
Would definitely come back
The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We had a cozy and comfortable table and the atmosphere was perfect. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
I had a lovely experience here. The food was absolutely delicious and I loved the ambiance!! I will definitely be returning to try other food and drinks on the menu!
Service and food were excellent
The service is always attentive which makes the dining always a pleasant experience. And everyone should really try their crispy Brussels Sprouts with sweet and hot sauce, it is the best!
Very comfortable restaurant for dinner. Service was great. Chicken pot pie and deviled eggs were delicious. We enjoyed our dinner.
Some of the food was amazing (steak Au poivre, cheeseburger, Brussel sprouts) and some was quite poor (we sent back the fish and chips, dessert was not fresh). Usually it was all great here.
Good for boozy brunch! Three flavors of mimosas, with the blood orange being the best. Would also highly recommend the savory brunch options.
The ambiance at night is amazing. Such a cool vibe.
