The Williams Ale & Cider House
We had a nice selection of ciders for tasting. The meals were really good as well. We had the Mexican salad and the steak pie. Nice place, good ambience for lunch.
Visited on a Wednesday evening. Very busy and glad we pre booked. Staff were efficient and the food good. Not sure about the duct tape on our bench seat though. Noise levels at about 21.00 prompted our leaving as conversation was proving difficult. Overall though, a pretty nice visit
Easy to get a drink. Large selection. Fantastic staff :)
Great bar tucked away near Spitalfields market. Accommodated our group booking for the rugby. Will visit again even if just for the pulled pork nachos!
We arrived on a buys evening - the pub was packed and we had to wait a while for the customers who had sat at our table to move. ( there was a sign saying it was reserved from 6pm) There was one chair short which took about 20 minutes to sort out and there was a long que at the bar for food and drink order. It was also swelteringly hot. The food arrived promptly but the burgers we ordered were a little on the dry side and not big portions considering the cost. An all round disappointment.
The food was too salty but great service and cider.
Great selection of drinks, and a good atmosphere, but the pub is too loud to be able to dine in. I think more staff are needed on the bar as service can be quite slow.
Unfortunately we arrived at 10pm and by the time we ordered drinks and went to a table, we were told that the kitchen was already closed.
Great selection of beers and ciders though !
I was there on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet with only a few tables filled. The staff was very friendly, food was quick and tasty. Very cozy!
Great Fuller's pub. Busy city crowd on a Thursday.
Very conveniently placed between Liverpool St station and Spitalfields market, it was crowded with after work drinkers, but once seated in the restaurant area, it was much quieter and easy to chat. The Steak & Ale pie was a big proper pie! They have a good selection of ever changing Ciders and some good Gins. The service was casual, with just the right level of attentive. One to remember when in the area.
Enjoyable couple of hours, staff were friendly. Food was very average but OK. Good choice of beer. Wouldn’t recommend for proper lunch but good meeting place for friends.
Had a couple of enjoyable hours with a couple of friends. Beer was good, with a wide choice of real ales. We all had burgers, which were tasty, if a little over priced for what you got (but that's London prices for you!!), and the chips were very salty! Bar staff friendly and attentive. The only downside was being harassed by a guy who had 'over-indulged'!!
A great place for lunch 5 minutes walk from Liverpool Station. Excellent choice of beers and a decent menu at reasonable 'non-City' prices. I booked ahead and secured a booth. The staff were very attentive and friendly. This has become my regular meeting place when I venture into the City.
No point booking a table as despite me receiving an email confirmation from open table the bar staff said they knew nothing about the reservation, that it was just through a third party website and no table was ready!! They said sorry but they couldn’t throw someone off a table. I expressed disappointment as I had travelled quite far to take my boyfriend to this place as he likes cider. Staff were unhelpful. Luckily managed to find myself a table and stayed for good. Was all ok in the end, just terrible customer service.
Very friendly staff who were organised and on top of our booking requirements.
The food was on time and really good, everyone enjoyed their meal. The choice of ales too pleased the group.
All round, a winner !
Great beer, helpful staff, great surroundings, some original features but food well below standard. Just poor presentation and quality
booked a table for 4, food was ok. bar mainly geared up for drinkers not a foodie place. all ok though.
Great staff and range of cider and ales. A great find and also they show live sport.
Busy pub in a central location just 5 or so minutes walk to Liverpool Street station. Excellent range of beers, tastings offered. Food was good pub grub, I had a burger which arrived quickly and was very tasty. Recommend for groups and you can book a table.
Proper London pub, nice atmosphere for a drink and bite to eat. Can get a bit crowded so need to book.
Excellent for meal in London, good selection of ales and ciders to complement.
Excellent pub and restaurant venue close to Broadgate in the City of London. Great choice of wines and beers, and great food to match. classic pub ambiance.
Good pub food, excellent range of real ales and excellent service
I had a great lunch with my pals for my post 50th birthday celebrations and to celebrate of our friendship of 30years plus.
The staff were very attentive during our lunch and created a lovely ambience .
Jade and the team arranged everything before hand for our day to go as planned ,a great girls lunch lots of fun and laughter.
I would highly recommend Williams wine and ale house to friends and family.
Upon arrival, I was told that we would have waitress service and my first drinks order was taken at the table. But after that, I had to go to the bar to order more drinks and food as the waiting staff didn't appear again until they brought the food out. The food was ok, average pub food - reasonably priced.
Best thing was the selection of beers and ales and proximity to LVP station which is why we booked in the first place.
We booked this to meet friends near Liverpool St station, and although the beer is EXCELLENT and the service very attentive, the meal was adequate only. Not hugely inspiring, not great quality, not good value and took a long time to come. They did have a new chef, but on our meal there's no way I could recommend this place to others.
Great venue - proper pub with great ale and beer selection and good pub grub. Generous portions and lovely pies - sharing starters very good, fresh and flavourful ... Great evening had and look forward to returning soon!!
We had a table booked for dinner at 6pm on a Saturday night and when we arrived it was ready and waiting for us. This was the first time that I had been to this pub and I was glad that it had a proper pub feel to it rather than joining the raft of gastropubs that seem to be everywhere. There were an excellent selection of beers and ales and the bar staff were exceptional with service throughout the entire night. The food was well priced and delicious. I had the fish and chips, and the rest of my group had the beef burger. There was also live music on while we were there (a guitarist and singer) and only added to the atmosphere in the pub. Thanks to all the staff! I will definitely be back in for a beer the next time I'm by Liverpool St.
I booked a table for 8 of us to celebrate my husband's birthday , we arrived to a great corner table being reserved for us with balloons (did ask for these as a special request). The staff were very friendly and the food was yummy, we chose lots of the small dish options to share.
Would defo recommend this place and will be coming back.
Couldn't hear ourselves think never mind catch up with friends.
Wouldn't recommend for eating.
Shame because menu looked fab...really disappointing.
Shouldn't pretend to be a place to eat online as just a con.
Wasted our time. Still went to Canteen nearby which was fab.
Booked for birthday drinks and had a great time. Good selection of drinks and food.
Service was very friendly, beer selection and quality is excellent, food was good and good value, pub was very busy and crowded and noisy (it was a Wednesday).
I would return, but only with the right group. I was there to catch up with friends, but it was a bit too noisy and crowded, we went to another pub round the corner after we'd eaten.
Good food and atmosphere. Definitely recommend it!
The staff were really helpful and service was superb. good selection of well kept beer / ale on tap and great wines. The menu had plenty of choice, and the plates we ordered were delish!
great pub for drinks and sharing platters. good selection of ales on tap.
It took absolutely ages to be served. We kept being told 5mins and it took almost an hour which was our entire lunch break!
Great range of beers (real ales) and ciders. We went for lunchtime snacks. Choose any four for £16 and get free portion of chips. Friendly service from knowledgeable bar staff.
The restaurant was closed when we got there! Disappointed doesn't cover it.
