Taking son out for dinner
Dined here many times, and usually very reliable for food and service, last couple times have been disappointing. This time, a busy Saturday night, very crowded inside and outside and maybe that's why the service was lacking and food not up to standard. Service was friendly, but very slow. Meal took about 30 minutes to deliver. My filet minon was cooked to order (medium) and was a nice cut, but served luke-warm at best. My wife ordered the steak salad, and the steak was overcooked, tough and she couldn't even eat it, making it basically a $27 plate of lettuce with 1/2 a tomato. I'll have to rethink repeating
We had a great meal. I started with the chopped salad, that wasn't really chopped but tasted great. I then had the skirt steak special with chimichurri which was excellent. Full of favor and the chimichurri was outstanding. Ironically our server diminished our experience. Not all that friendly and not all that attentive.
One thing you'll never have to worry about is the quality of food @ Witherspoon Grill. All the times that we've been here the food has always been prepared properly and tastes great! Definitely will be coming back for special occassions.
Food was wonderful. We sat outside for brunch which was lovely. Dominque our server was friendly and informative. She took great care of all her tables. Been here a few times. Never disappoints.
The food was delicious, from the oysters to the main entree of Delmonico Steak, to the cheesecake dessert. Service was attentive and responsive which was great! Made reservations, as this place on a Saturday night was very busy! We were seated right away, making this place a go-to for us.
Great service and food!
A perfect evening. The service was outstanding. Our server Judy was terriffic. She anticipated our needs befor we knew we needed them. The food was perfectly timed and prepared. An outstanding meal! Ask for Judy!
My favorite place for dinner at Princeton! It never disappoints.
Excellent service. Salads and filet sandwich and crab cakes were delicious. Noise level is high but can’t complain
Our favorite in Princeton.
Great service starting with the hostess then the servers!
Our waiter was very attentive and took good care of all our requests
Nice live music.
The problem is always that the waiters tend to disappear
Witherspoon Grill is always a vibrant atmosphere with excellent food. We enjoyed the white sangria along with the steak salad. Food and service were paced appropriately so we could leisurely enjoy our catch-up dinner with friends.
Meals were very good. My steak-pomme frites was close to the best I have ever had, and that is a high complement. My wife and sister-in-law both praised their filet tips. Seated in a nice booth. Noise level was quite high due to a nearby 30-person birthday party, but the booth allowed close discussion. Overall, a pleasant evening.

fantastic food and service, great cocktails, terrific steaks; not cheap, but definitely worth it
Fabulous seating outdoors.waiter was the greatest, very helpful with ordering. Will be back to try the happy hour soon since we get out of work at 3. Both food choices were excellent and way more than we could finish. All menu choices looked delicious Great place and glad we got our requested spot outside.
A repeat visitor for lunch. Burgers, salads, specials. Whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed.
Their servers need to learn about Food Safety or Department of Health need to check out the place. The service we had was Ok. But, I felt disgusted when I went to restroom and saw a server with her apron and her side towel. Imagine how much germs she brings to you by serving you: touching your plate, drinks, maybe the food itself too
Aprons and side towels need to be left before you go to restroom. It’s called - Common Sense. I wonder if they wash their hands before returning to work?! But then, she/he will use the side towel which went to restroom with her
Overall: the food was Ok, our server was good and communicative.
The food tonight was excellent. I had the pan seared scallops it was incredible. Service was great.
I had the boneless short rib and it was good but the mashed potatoes were a bit runny. Two at our table had the trout and said it was superb. Jazz group was playing so it was hard to hear each other. We were in a booth with 4 people. Service was excellent.
Although I’ve been here before and recommended it, poor service, almost nonexistent service ruined the 40th anniversary brunch celebration. Our waitress was the worst I’ve had in a long time...couldn’t take our order, get us drinks, even remember to remove a cappuccino that was made with bad milk. I think in the future I need to read the comments rather than go on past experiences.
Was disappointed on many levels. First my wine glass and knife were dirty Second, we had two salts, no pepper placed on our table which resulted in ruining my husband’s steak. Third my husband’s dry aged steak was very fatty and my steak was overbooked. This will be our last visit. It’s a shame because we have dined here before and had a very good experience.
Our waitress was Dominique and she was very attentive and enjoyable. We had Oysters as an appetizer and two of us had the Cod with beurre blanc sauce, the fish of the day and very fresh and delicious as were the oysters. My wife had the crab salad and she said it was good (not above average). This was a lunch get together and the ambiance and noise level allowed us to laugh without being conspicuous or upsetting other guests . . . and that's a GOOD THING :-)
The seafood tower is excellent. That along with excellent service always amounts to a great night out.
good food and service, one of our favorite restaurants in the Princeton area
Enjoyed our lunch. The crab cake was the best he ever had and the Witherspoon Salad was tops
Amazing experience! The food is always superb and the service is wonderful as well! I continue to go back and I always recommend this restaurant to my friends and family!
The cauliflower side dish is a nice addition so I hope they keep it on the menu. Consistently good, very professional service.
Always delicious food and excellent special service, personal and pleasant
Son’s 36th birthday. He usually goes for the red meat but he loves your scallops and unfortunately you had run out! Love the Lore pasta!
Incredible food, service and ambience at this Princeton staple
As always, wonderful in all areas!
We enjoyed the service, atmosphere, and the food is always delicious!!
It was great. Everyone loved their meals and the desserts were amazing. Perfect experience all around.
