Wolfe's Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
Wanted a good value place in Central London where we could catch up with friends over a meal. Wolfe's delivered this with an extensive choice of dishes from the 3 course set menu offer, which included a glass of prosecco and very very generous portions. It's quite traditional, not trendy but ideal for low key dining. Good service and tasty food that doesn't leave you hungry or broke. 😊
Following a visit last week with a large group, where we had the Burger offer, I decided to return with another group this Monday as my previous experience had been good. So glad I did, this time the Kobe burgers were outstanding; very succulent and tasty - and beautifully presented (along with little basket full of chips and a salad on each plate). We toasted with a really decent champagne - by the bottle it worked out at around £7 for a generous glass. Fabulous and peaceful environment, lovely atmosphere and fabulous staff who are helpful, but not intrusive. Wolfe's is becoming a real favourite when in Covent Garden.
I've eaten here a number of times before, mainly for lunch but on this occasion I was meeting up with a group of 5 former co-workers for a get together on a Friday night. The restaurant's décor is smart and classical, but not particularly contemporary. By 7:30pm it was very busy.
The menu has a good selection of traditional English dishes together and with classic European fayre, like Lamb Kleftiko and Fillet Beef Stroganoff. The wine list is not particularly comprehensive but there are some very good wines on it at reasonable prices. The food was very tasty with hearty portions, all well cooked and nicely presented.
The staff were very attentive, especially considering the restaurant was nearly full, and we did not have to wait long for anything. The staff were also very friendly. Overall I would strongly recommend this restaurant for dining with friend, family or co-workers for lunch or dinner.
I booked a table for 8 and needed to add 2 more which was simple to do via the open table site. Having booked we were all looking forward to meeting up and having an enjoyable evening. Everyone enjoyed themselves and all the meals were cooked well and I had no complaints from anyone in the party, although there were no bread rolls due to them running out!
The only gripe was I received was about the service charge, no one objected to them adding the service charge to the meals, but to add it to the drinks was a little hard to swallow for a few in the party, considering the amount of wine and drinks consumed. Overall the meals, service, and venue were excellent but watch out for the added cost on the drinks.
This is my third visit to this restaurant and I have been very satisfied each time,it is very comfortable, exceptionally clean and a nice atmosphere ,the service is very good, nothing is any trouble to the staff and the food( particularly the Steaks) is delicious ! You dont feel pressured to leave once your meal is finished, I will definitely be returning and introducing other friends to it. It's a good location, just a stones throw from several theatres and of course Covent Garden and a convenient place for ladies to dine and wait for their men finishing meetings over the road in Gt Queen Street.
What a place. I added 1 diner at the last minute ( literally 1 minute), not a problem. Friendly staff, attentive without being obtrusive. The Wolfes cheeseburger, possibly the best I've ever had. All 7 of us had a fantastic evening. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
The only thing I'll say is that I ordered the chicken wrapped in Parma Ham that stated that it came with potato croquets and veg of the day. When it arrived it was covered in a mushroom sauce with mushrooms and I hate mushrooms. I didn't complain as we were on our way to a show and didn't have time for it to be done again. Other than that it was lovely.
I am incredibly impressed with the fantastic customer service received at Wolfe's Bar and Grill. I organised a surprised party for my other half and 20 people turned up to dinner. The staff at the venue were very organised and friendly and they even took care of a cake I ordered from a local bakery which was accidentally deliverd to the wrong address. The food there is delicious I especially recommend the burgers! And the quirky 20s inspired interior makes for a great location for both business dinners and romantic evenings for two.
I have been faithful to Wolfe's 2 for 1 kobe beef burger offer for some time now and was very pleased to see the offer's return to OpenTable. Everyone I have ever taken to Wolfe's for the burger has been so impressed. The burger itself is absolutely delicious and is complemented beautifully by delicious fries and salad. The portion is generous but not excessive. Even without the offer, the burger is priced well for the quality and portion size. Much more than I can say for GBK, Byron or any of the rest.
The atmosphere of Wolfe's resembles a very civilised Manhattan-style bar/restaurant - relaxed yet refined. No matter how busy Wolfe's is, it never feels crowded or loud. The staff are responsive, attentive and very polite.
The food was fantastic! we all had different things and everything was delicious we had to try each others. The restaurant looked fab and have already told friends and family to enjoy a night out there. My friends used the set menu offer which was such great value for what came the portion sizes were excellent!
I went here with my daughter and her friend on the night before we all flew out to our respective holidays.
The atmosphere is really nice and I will definitely go back here, in particular next time I am looking for somewhere to go pre-theatre.
The burgers are a must, cooked to perfection. Starters are massive, so best go when you are very hungry.
The set menu is excellent value.
