entire staff was excellent. Band was great , atmosphere was relaxing.
There was no valet parking. The drinks took 20 minutes and the waitress had no clue if they had non-alcoholic beverages for my business guest. When it came time to order our waitress said, “what can I grab for ya?” It was a second class experience at first-class prices.
My complaint to the Food & Beverage manager took 28 hours for a response (he was in, just non-responsive) and he never apologized.
sadly. the first person we were greeted by told us we would have to wait that all the tables were dirty. Thereafter she basically ignored us. In what fine restaurant does the "greeter" talk like that. She seated two people before us and again, told us she would clean one of the "dirty tables" for us. I told her that I had made a reservation and that I had put in a special request as it was both my daughter and my son-in-laws birthdays. It took quite a while for a server to ask if we wanted coffee or water and quite a bit longer before it arrived. The service was less than adequate...coffee refill was very slow and I had to ask for cream. All in all, I was embarrassed to treat my son-in-law and daughter to "breakfast" here. I won't make the same mistake again
We went for special 0cassion on a Tuesday evening. It was near empty. We were treated great. Food was very good but a bit pricey.
Birthday dinner. Excellent.
Very good experience, the staff were friendly and professional. The food was amazing. The only problem was that some how Open Table failed to actually make the reservation but the manager found us a table.
The good and service were excellent. My only issue was the post/column we were seated by was stained withnsplatters of good and/or drinks. It made the area seem unclean. But, again, our server was great and the good was fantastic.
Service was slow NOT as a result of our waitress. Several other large parties were there at same time and I think kitchen was backed up. Waitress was very friendly.
From the moment we arrived, the hostess was friendly and personable. We had reservations for our Anniversary dinner. Our server was pretty new, but she was enthusiastic, very professional, and found answers to the questions she didn't know. There were several large celebrations going on yet the noise level remained easy to talk to one another. Our dinner was superb, a 10+ We received a complimentary glass of ice wine after dinner, in celebration of our Anniversary - a very nice touch. I would highly recommend having a special dinner here. The ambiance is lovely, and the sunset was perfect.
Beautiful sunset view, great service, tasty food and great drinks. The live music was a very nice touch
A week after 50th anniversary
Dated bad waiter too stuffy
Service was outstanding. Jason is so pleasant and seems genuinely happy to be where he is. That makes for a nice atmosphere. Everyone was very sweet, always checking on us to be sure we were enjoying ourselves. Spectacular view with a beautiful sunset. What more could I ask for on my birthday!
I hadn't been to Woodcliff in many years, but it was my first thought to visit upon the occasion of my 81st Birthday and my son and daughter-in-law's 29th Anniversary. I did not regret it at all, from the lovely approach to the site, through an excellent meal enjoyed by all (I had all the specials : Mushroom Baklava, Lobster Bisque, Cowboy Steak, Tart) The service, directed by Daniel, was super. A memorable evening, even without music. And ending with a perfect view of a magnificent sunset. We'll be back!
Everything was great and we can’t wait to come back!
Food was mediocre for the price and hype. Waitress Ali was an absolute doll I loved her so much.
Great Great Great Great
Birthday celebration went very well-- window table, large ($14.95) cake portion available, good service,
very good food. Horiazons is our #1 destination for special occasions.
The soups were delicious (lobster bisque and mushroom), very enjoyable. We also ordered a turkey club and found it to be way too big and nearly impossible to figure out how to eat. I would not order it again.
The restaurant is very nice though not my taste in decorating (I prefer cozy).
I would have liked to see more Finger Lakes wines on the wine list.
Our server was very patient with us as we were in no hurry to order and eat (celebrating a birthday).
Horizons offered a beautiful view, beautiful live music, and beautifully presented food that was delicious!!!
The menu has changed, the cheese bread is gone. For the price point, there are much better restaurants in ROC. Food was mediocre at best. So disappointed, we use to really like this restaurant.
Not busy and yet they seated tables in close proximity to one another. Chairs are uncomfortable and not suitable for dining. While good and service were good, it was not worth the very hefty price tag.
Lovely dining experience good service, food very good and well presented
We were a party of 4 celebrating a college graduation. The OpenTable reservation was our second time eating at Horizons within 24 hours. The first time was unscheduled and there was only one server for the entire dining room. However, the service was excellent as was the food. Our scheduled reservation on the following night presented a different experience. We asked for the same server and was told that was not possible. The server assigned left much to be desired. There is no way that the previous night could have been handled by this server. The server was respectful, personable, but not skillful in serving or knowledgeable in the presentation of expensive wines. Our party was seated on time except for one who arrived about 10 minutes later. In that time, we ordered sparkling water and a wine spectator highly rated wine. The wine was not decanted. The cork was dry with the exception of about 1/8 inch at the bottom. No red wine glasses were brought to the table. The server never poured wine after the first time. Our first course arrived fairly quickly. Our main course took an abnormally long time with no explanation given. The restaurant was not filled considering it was a Saturday night. We knew the hotel had catering events that evening, but that should not have affected the efficiency of the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent. The service Friday was excellent. The service Saturday was mediocre. If a restaurant intends to serve a wine of exceptional quality, it should ensure that all staff knows how it should be served. A $175.00 bottle of wine was just left on the table like a bottle of water. If it had been an Opus One bottle at twice the price, then some complaints at the time would have been voiced. Unfortunately, most of these issues were all related to the server. The server did not appear to be a novice.
Our food, view, ambiance was great. Our waitress was snappy and rude.
Loved it ,we would do it again in a heart beat. The staff was welcoming and attentive . The Food was wonderful . The atmosphere was elagent and romantic .
Very nice atmosphere. Food was delicious and service was friendly and attentive. Sunset was amazing.
Good food- great wine list and enjoyed the band playing. Our waiter was great and everyone checking in on our meal was nice as well
I booked online for the first time for a special occasion. I have been to the brunch countless times and assumed I was booking for brunch for six people. Unfortunately for us, it was for the breakfast buffet. This wasn’t clear online. When we arrived I found out that we were not going to be there for the brunch, but for the breakfast buffet instead. HUGE disappointment for all of us, esoecially my daughter, whose birthday we were celebrating. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the food was good. However, as amazing as he brunch fare is, that is how mediocre the breakfast food is. I have had better freebreakfast buffets at Holiday Inn Express. The food was stale and congealed, they ran out of things without replenishing, (including fruit, bacon, danishes, plates.) The quality was poor at best. I had to keep apologizing to everyone. It was very expensive for the sub par quality. The worst part was when we were leaving and seeing the great food set up for the brunch buffet. Again, huge disappointment. I would NOT recommend the breakfast buffet at all. I wish I could get my money back. It was a rip off.
hostess was fantastic as was the food and waiter atmosphere just a real fine establishment I defiantly will return
I don tknow why we do not go here more.
The menu was solid, the service was great and the atmosphere was outstanding.
The service was great and friendly. However when we checked in at the host stand the gentleman greeting us was less than welcoming. In addition basically dismissed my reservation and I haven’t received my Open Table points. Received a courtesy call beforehand to make sure I understood their brunch didn’t start until late morning. Delicious food and an enjoyable time overall.
Quiet and comfortable with a lovely view. Waiter was very helpful in selecting wine. Plenty of time allowed to order. Salad and bread served promptly. Had plenty of time to finish salad before main course was served. Meal was delicious. This was our second time comming here and received the same great service and meal both times.
Yes, but service (while nice and courteous) is very slow.
Diner was wonderful. Our waiter Marco was outstanding. I would highly recommend Woodcliff. All the staff was very attentive.
Great place will go there again. The staff are wonderful and so is the food.
