Great place as always - can only recommend!!
Always a pleasure visiting Woodlands. Delicious dosas, pleasant ambience and good service!
Very tasty restaurant. Everything we had was lovely but could be improved if the masala dosa was crispier.
Always very pleasant. Food is from a limited menu but is nicely prepared and tasty.
A lovely reunion with some longtime friends - we had a nice corner table with plenty of room and enjoyed the delicious food. The menu has slightly changed since I was there last and is perhaps a little smaller and somewhat less clear as to what works as a starter - however the waiter was very helpful with any explanations and willing to reduce spiciness if necessary when he could - and everything was very tasty. I loved the aubergine with cashew nut dish and the dosas.
The food was excellent! Delicious and very well cooked. Would definitely go there again and recommend very highly.
The food was excellent, with a modern twist, smaller portions compared to non vegetarian indian restaraunts. The food was spicy in good sense and tasteful. The staff were very helpful and pleasnt. Overall very good experience, good value for money and would visit again.
not much varierty of food, quantity is very less , very good ambience and service..
Amazing service, great selection of food, all tasted fantastic. Will definitely be going back
Our food came quickly and accurately. It was beautifully presented with an exquisite taste. The drinks were tasty and the range of desserts was a neat surprise as they certainly weren't the usual fare for Indian restaurants.
We would have liked to have had beer on tap (from habit, really) but this is not available at the restaurant: instead the large bottles of Cobra or Kingfisher were served chilled and were absolutely fine.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience and the price was perfectly reasonable for the amount and quality of food we consumed.
We were made to feel very welcome and as it was our first visit and the menu was quite unique the food as chosen for us. Everything was tasty and beautifully presented. There were 2 meat eaters in the group who did not complain about lack of meat as the food was so good. We look forward to the next visit
The food was amazing and such good value
Really nice selection of vegetarian dishes. Although I didn't eat any breads myself the naans and parathas that I saw coming out from the kitchen looked wonderful and very tempting.
At the outset, let me be fair and say that the food tasted authentic. The service was reasonably good although one of the head waiters is extremely loud and hectors the guest. The real issue is the extremely small size of the portions - drinks, food and sides. If you want to have your fill, you need to order almost 3 portions and what initially looks like a reasonably priced menu turned out to be a really expensive proposition in the end.
Wonderful food as always, friendly staff and quick service.
As usual the food was really tasty and interesting. We had three small plates - the chilli garlic paneer was particularly good and three dosa which were thin and crispy with delicious fillings, paneer, spinach and potato. It's a great place to pop in for supper.
Superb food. Delhi Thali was a delight. Service friendly and helpful.
Friendly, helpful staff in a very pleasingly laid-back atmosphere that doesn't take too much account of its trendy surroundings in Marylebone. Nice décor, though. The food is good, fresh vegetarian Indian - not that easy to get in London, despite there being quite a lot of restaurants that serve it. We'd go again.
Food was far too spicy to the point it was inedible. I am Indian and could not see English people eating the tandoori veg (it hard no chilli on it on the menu to indicate it would be spicy and its a dish from my region of India).
The wait staff refused to aknowledge this, until I they saw the discomfort it put my friend in, who ended up having a severe stomach ache. It ruined the rest of the meal and also gave myself an upset stomach. I would not recommend this resturant. There's much better ones around.
Great dosa! Loved the food. The masala chai was great too. The chilli garlic paneer starter was especially good.
The dessert (mousse cake) was a little underwhelming and over priced for the size (£6 and quite small, the cake was a bit dry and the mousse was dense instead of light and airy). Overall experience was good.
We were a large group of friends including two young teenagers. The staff was very helpful and provided us with a varied good selection of dishes for starters and mains and took into account the presence of teenagers that never has Indian food before. Plenty of good food to the point that sadly we did not have room for dessert!
Been coming to Woodlands since it opened in the 1980s. Fabulous food at great prices - probably the best value for money in Marylebone. Quality is as good as ever.
Beautiful meal. This was when I was debating whether to go vegetarian - this meal made my mind up for me :)
Delicious and authentic food from Kerala. Lovely service and great value.
Had the Dehli Thali which was delicious. Nice restaurant
Food was excellent, but a very noisy party of about 25 including very young children were at an adjacent table, which made conversation at our two person table virtually impossible. Our booking was at 8pm, and shouty people didn't leave until 9.30pm. Staff apologised when we left, but no suggestion of a reduction/free little something/knocking off the inclusive tip.
Good value for money tasty food and friendly staff.
Had a good meal at the Woodlands Marylebone recently. The Thali's were excellent and a good way of introducing a variety of different dishes to the group.
The atmosphere was good, bluesy-jazz was different and laid back but not particularly what you expect from and Indian establishment.
The toilets are best described as bijou!
Good value for money considering it is central London and quality food.
I didn't think the restaurant bought any special additional influence to the menu considering it's vegetarian. The only substitutes from meat we really had were cauliflower, chickpea and potato, the rest just felt like a normal curry without meat - so just lots of sauces.
Dosa was good though
Great food. If you are looking for Veg Indian, this is worth a stop.
Really tasty vegetarian food. Excellent service.
Average quality food which is pricey and with very small portions. Had to ask to take away uthappa due to burnt onions.
People who had tested Indian food in Wembley or Southall etc shouldn't even bother to go here.
Got to the restaurant and were asked to wait for a table by the v.rude lady who was trying the Lassi in front of us and you could see it was bad (this is important for later). I imagine she was doing this in response to a customer sending it back.
Finally got a table and it was clear that in the back there were roughly 4 tables free already... So why we had to wait I don't know. Perhaps they were just short staffed.
Sat down and it took ages for someone to ask for our order. Ordered and the food arrived in an OK amount of time. In the meantime I could see that the table next to us were complaining about the food they received (including the Lassi drink). We had ordered a Lassi too, thinking it would have been fixed. It wasn't and we had to ask that it be taken off the bill after we sent it back (it wasn't removed automatically)
Food portions were very small but tasted OK.
Been to the Woodlands in Leicester Square and thought this was much better, including the menu overall having much more choice and the portions were much better too; but not sure if there has been a change at all branches or if the Marylebone one was just exceptionally bad.
I wouldn't recommend.
Really nice restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. Our waiter was really knowledge about the menu and could easily advise us about gluten free options. We really enjoyed our meal there.
We went after a long time and it was great. The place was more slicker , menu and food improved and service personalised as always
The only place in central London for a decent dosa and they offer a wide range of them too!
Lovely team and nothing is ever a rush.
Very good food and service
Service pretty poor. Left for ages before order was taken, waitress came across as rather rude but it may of been an language barrier. Food great restaurant v noisy!
A delightful restaurant, delicious food and great value for money a wonderful lunchtime treat!
