Woodlands Restaurant Piccadilly
The restaurant is ideal for easy dining with a buzzy brasserie atmosphere. Based in the heart of Theatre and just a stone's throw from Leicester Sq ideal for a pre or post theatre dining. Our menu includes a delicious and healthy Tandoori / Bar B-Que menu (Spicy broccoli, paneer, cauliflower etc). We are proud to serve delicious Dosas and traditional north India fayre such as rich jack fruit curry and delicious Channa Bathura (famous football sized bread). Don't forget to sample our Organic Wine List...you really can taste the difference as these wines are much purer and lighter with a longer finish.

Good food. Service quick enough despite being busy. Very good choice for pre-theatre dining.
Delicious authentic South Indian vegetarian food, with a wide array of options to suit different palates. Packed restaurant on a Thursday evening - just goes to show its popularity in the area!
The restaurant doesn’t appear to reserve tables when you make a booking through Open Table. Three parties waiting 15 mins plus for a table on Saturday night.
Such wonderful authentic food. I am a new vegan and they were able to cater for this completely.
The food was just incredible. I wanted to order it all but the it was the best dosa I have ever eaten! You must go!
Really good food, staff were really friendly and recommended the best dishes for us. 10/10 would come again :)
Even though we had made a reservation, they were unable to provide us with a table and asked us to wait and join the queue. After waiting, they gave a table to someone who had arrived after us. Very poor service.
Excellent food - would definitely go back to this restaurant.
As always Woodlands does not disappoint - great food, friendly service in a brilliant central West End location. Still a little pricey but you are 2 mins from Leicester Sq and Piccadilly Circus so it's no real surprise - highly recommended
Very good vege/vegan Indian restaurant. Great to find somewhere relatively quiet on busy Saturday night in Piccadilly! Might be the lack of meat/fish. We loved it and would definitely go back.
The food was excellent but the service could have been better.
Out of the three staff that were waiting on tables we happened to get the rather miserable faced lady. Just seemed liked she didn’t want to be there.
Amazing food with decent portions complemented by a great service. Definitely recommended.
First visit and very impressed. Food was really excellent and service prompt knowledgable and friendly. Will definitely go again.
If they dimmed the lights and put candles on tables ambience would be lot better
Great place to eat in Central London
good choice, friendly staff and atmosphere. Thanks.
We chose this restaurant for our last night in London, before a theater event. I didn't realize it was vegetarian and was frankly a bit worried as not sure my husband would enjoy. At first I was a bit bummed as we walked in from the cold and despite having a reservation, saw only two tables open, both right by the door which the cold just comes blasting in. When I asked for a warmer table, the manager just said that if I wanted a table away from the door I should have noted as such on my reservation. How was I to know? Well, we did realized the table was down three steps which helped defuse the cold air and we settled in to peruse the massive menu. Lots of great choices and as many were unfamiliar, we just winged it, ordered lots of interesting things and frankly loved them all! The staff were great with my daughter's dairy intolerance - guiding her as to what is best to eat. We really enjoyed the food! The restaurant was clean and packed with a cheerful pretheater crowd and every seemed to be served in good time. I think you go here for the food; the decor was simple and clean but the food was quite good!
We wish we had gone somewhere else. We waited almost half an hour to order our drinks and food, despite the restaurant being half empty. Then all of the food arrived almost at once and in a random order. The starter arrived, then a few minutes later the poppadoms, then before we had finished either the mains arrived. There was so many plates on the table at the same time that there was no room for the plates for us to eat of off. The staff kept trying to take away dishes that we were still - clearly - eating from and we had to stop them from doing so. By the time we had finished our poppadoms the mains and breads were mostly cold. I think our entire meal was over within 20 minutes as we tried to eat it before it got cold. It was farcical and far from the relaxing meal we had planned. Then to top it off they tried to charge us a service charge!!
Longstanding favourite.Vegetarian and excellent flavours and textures.
Great food & service. Would also recommend here.
Delicious vegetarian Indian food beautifully presented in convenient location.
One of our favorite restaurants, with superb food and extensive vegan menu. Super-nice people and convenient to theatre and tourists spots.
Very efficient service. Convenient for the Harold Pinter theatre.
Best vegetarian Indian food by far
Food is good. But the service is poor. Takes ages for the staff to respond to requests and have a very cold ambivalent attitude.
Woodlands is fine if offering little value. There are better options locally with more authentic, fresher food.
We booked a table for 6pm as we were going to the theatre nearby at 7.30. This should have been plenty of time, but the service was dreadful!
It took 15 minutes for someone to take our order and by 7pm our food still hadn't arrived. We had to ask three times for three bill and were almost late to our show - a very stressful experience.
Excellent food and service but we resent 12 per cent bring added automatically. We would have tipped but almost felt like not doing because of this. It should be voluntary.
Wonderful food. Super friendly staff. A fantastic evening, excellent veggie London choice
Great food, ideal portion size, convenient location.
We arrived early for our 6pm reservation and there was no problem getting a table. It was super quiet and there was a one waitress on. She seemed a bit stressed and was clearly struggling to attend to the four tables of guests. We sat for nearly 10 mins before being asked for a drinks order and we had thought about leaving numerous times.
We chose to stay and had our order taken. Later on more staff came as more customers arrived and suddenly it felt like they could cope with the existing customers and be attentive.
I’m pleased we stayed because it was delicious food and incredibly convenient for a pre-show meal before seeing Ian McKellen at Harold Pinter Theatre.
Would go again for the food but might check out other places in the area first.
Lived this restaurant. Great food and service was fantastic.
I have been visiting the Woodlands almost from when it first opened. The food is always excellent and the service fast and friendly. Highly recommended!
I visited Woodlands tonight, for the second time. I wanted to share my experience with my friends as I had a lovely time in my previous visit. The food is tasty and a great value for money. The service was great and the staff were attentive. I will definitely go back again.
Outstanding food, attentive service and thoroughly e notable evening.
Had a lovely meal and were served quite quickly! It was very busy and loud outside but inside was noticeably calmer
Food is really nice and well presented, Dosa was delicious and a good selection. Restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night! Service was excellent and staff were very attentive, maybe because they were quiet, and helped talk through selections. Good selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. On the expensive side, but then it is just off Leicester Square.
Nice to return after several years, meal was delicious and really welcomed the range of vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options suiting all ages and tastes. Pricing reasonable for the location. Waiters were friendly and professional. Slight downside are the toilets could do with a bit of a refresh and they are down a steep flight of stairs. However would recommend this restaurant
Outstanding and authentic Indian food. Friendly but inattentive service. Drab dated decor. I would still go back for the terrific food.
It was brilliant to eat in a fully vegetarian Indian restaurant and every dish that we ate was sublime. If I am in London again I will definitely go for another meal at Woodlands.
Awesome food, good service and clean place!
I was asked for a tip on top of a 12.5% service charge. I didn't like refusing to give a second 'tip' and I won't go back.
It was ok and I have had better considering the price we paid
