Fantastic. Food and service was excellent. Can’t wait to come back.
Amazing restaurant, perfect for romantic night out or meal with friends. Menu has lots of choice and I would particularly recommend the tofu with truffles for veggi or non veggis alike :) Scallops starter also delicious. In fact everything is delicious and definitely try the spicy edamame!
Less pleased-with-itself than its sister restaurant Tsunami in Clapham, but much better for that. Service was great (rarely good at Tsunami), food likewise, especially sesame aubergine starter and house special sushi roll, the specific name of which I forget (but they all looked good). I’d have liked a longer sake list, but few others would care I guess. Friends have long recommended this place, rightly so I discover.
Food was amazing, service attentive and the atmosphere buzzy
We did the bottomless lunch and prosecco deal and it was incredible! The standard of food is so high and although it was quite pricey, it was worthwhile for the delicious food and plentiful bubbly. Will definitely go back.
Very tasty food and beautiful hand crafted cocktails
This is an excellent go to local restaurant. The sashimi is of a quality and price that cannot be beaten elsewhere. The staff are always really attentive and polite.
Yama Momo is a stand out restaurant. Cant believe we are so lucky that it is so local. Would always advise to book ahead as it is extremely popular. Food and service outstanding.
All good. Lovely food, intimate modern setting. Attentive service apart from drink arrived ahead of starter, which was surprising.
Lovely service, good food, delicious drinks. Some dishes and drinks a little too sweet for my palate
A wonderful night out. Great service and delicious food.
Delicious food, amazing cocktails, good vibes. The best restaurant in the area hands down
Pleasant venue but average service. We ordered the brunch which I wouldn't recommend, but If you do get the brunch avoid the Chicken Katsu curry. It's a small dish of curry with a small portion of chicken, but no rice. The Bibimbap was a nice portion and we'll presented but a bit bland. The service could be much better as our waitress, who was pleasant, forgot our order and then stopped serving us completely, and FOH didn't even say thanks as we left.
Everything was great except for the wait for the cocktails which took a bit to come and slightly expencive with the VAT added.Very nice service.
Amazing wonderful fresh sushi as always. We have been coming here for the past five years - never disappointed. The most recent for my daughter’s birthday and the staff all made a huge fuss of her. We have celebrated many special occasions here as a family and with friends. The tiramisu after dinner martini is to die for. Keep up the good work guys service is brilliant at present.
The food presentation looks amazing. It is always freshly prepared for you. The nasu goma and suimai are the must try items!!
This place is the best restaurant local to Dulwich / SE London
Fantastic food and drinks as always! Many thanks!!
This was our first time at Yama mono and we loved it. Our waitress was so lovely and our meal was great! A perfect date spot! We will definitely be back again.
Great! Visited my sister Rebecca working there. Lovely restaurant.
Food was delicious but the portion sizes were a little too small for the price and the tables are far too close together.
Great waitress, lovely ambience in the restaurant and sushi brunch deal was reasonable and food was of a great quality.
Lovely food as always - tempura, gyoza, sushi, sashimi and seafood pot. Nice evening out.
The food are fresh and tasty. I always enjoy dining there. The staff are friendly. Definitely going back there again!!
Excellent place for people who just love food and relaxed atmosphere. The quality of service can easily bit fancy places in Mayfair for half of the price and withough vulgar and ridiculosly posh surrounding.
The whole experience was outstanding from start to finish. The meal was booked as a surprise for my partners 40th birthday and it surpassed all expectations. The food was outstanding and the cocktails were delicious too. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our evening, which included putting a candle in my partner’s dessert at the end of the evening (a complete surprise for us both as I had only mentioned it was his birthday in passing when ordering drinks). I would highly recommend the restaurant and I will definitely be going again soon!
Always a lovely meal & experience
This was a bit hit and miss. On the plus side, the lychee martini, dynamite beef and chicken gyoza were excellent.
The chicken we had, however, was very dry and the edamame beans didn’t really taste of anything. We asked for the first to be taken off the bill which the staff did readily.
The service however was extremely slow. We had hoped to order brunch which was advertised as being served from 12pm to 3pm, so we booked a table for 2pm. We were told on arrival that there wouldn’t be time for us to order from the brunch menu, which was a bit annoying, but we ordered from the a la carte menu anyway. Our food then took nearly an hour to arrive.
We did not receive an apology for the wait until the end of the meal when we asked for the service charge to be removed. In all fairness they were very busy, but I would have expected the manager of a restaurant to anticipate this and ensure that there were staff available to cope with this.
All in all we won’t be rushing back.
I was so disappointed with Yama Moto. We had eaten there for the second time in a week. We were lucky enough to be invited via a friend who knows the owner the week before. The service both times has been really bad. Waiting 10 minutes to be asked if you would like a drink then they would Forget you had ordered a drink
This Saturday on our 2nd visit however the service was terrible. They lost our order twice and on the third time of putting our desert order through We waited an hour for desert. We were given deserts on the house. However we had ordered drinks to have with desert which were finished 30 minutes before desert appeared. I pointed out to the manager that whilst we waited they should immediately offer us a drink Whilst we continued to wait. That’s customer service. Eventually the manager agreed and he also knocked off the service charge too. The service to be honest was equally as bad both times
On a positive note the food is really good and it’s local to us so it’s won’t put us off going again.
They just need to sort out a few issues
Excellent food. Easily some of the best Japanese I’ve had.
Yama Momo always delivers. Fantastic food and exceptional service. It is expensive but no more than you would expect in a restaurant of this quality. Love the fact that they dont hurry you off a table. Food is beautiful presented, service outstanding and drinks/cocktail menu first class. If I had any complaints it would be that it is a little hot, noisy and cramped on tables (we were 5 on a 4 seater table) but we did visit on a Saturday evening.
Best food in town! Service and food brilliant. Outstanding evening, couldn’t have asked for more.
Food delicious, with the Tuna Tataki and the luxury sashimi selection particular stand outs from the 5 or 6 dishes we had. The sashimi was some of the best I've had - incredibly fresh and rich. The cocktails were varied, unusual and extremely tasty. The ambience is quite cool and pretty - my only negative would be that the tables are quite crowded in. That's okay for the most part but we were celebrating our anniversary (and had booked weeks in advance, noting the occasion) so would've appreciated one of the tables in the restaurant that was not so cramped together as we felt closer to the people at the table next to us than each other.
Great food, great ambience, great service! And the luxury desert platter was fantastic! One of our favourites in dulwich!
Excellent ambience and caring and polite staff. Good food and generous portion sizes. A little steep for what you got - a very small Red Dragon Cocktail at £11 is difficult to justify but that is a small gripe in a largely successful dining experience. Very flavoursome food. Another mention for the exceptional efforts of all the staff.
Food was amazing.
More lighting needed in the restaurant.
There were a lot of flies around our table.
Great food, excellent service. Very enjoyable. Will definitely return.
We regularly go to Yama Momo. The food is always delicious! Love it there.
4th visit for the all you can eat buffet.. everything is freshly cooked upon ordering. The only thing I wish the would do, is alter the menu and add some new items.
Second time at Yama Momo. We came for my girlfriend's birthday having been impressed.the first time.
We waited half an hour to be seated even though we had booked a table at 9:15, I think our table was given away to another couple didn't book. It took a further 15minutes to be offered a drink while we sat at the bar. The manager came over every 10 minute's to tell us we will have our table in another five minutes. I could see people sat at tables who had finished but no effort was made to ask them to leave (standard practice from my experience as a waiter). We were not given any menus whilst we waited so I took one myself. He gave us some complimentary squid whilst we waited, which was really good and a nice gesture.
Eventually when we sat down we had to call over the manager to take our food order (obviously we knew straight away what we wanted as we had 30mins to decide). We asked for some water which never arrived so we asked again when our starters arrived.
There was no delay in food arriving and the starters were delicious but the sushi was not the best. We were also given the wrong order (Salmon and Avacado instead of Avacado and Cucumber) we didn't care as we were so hungry but no check back was done during our meal so we didn't have an opportunity to mention this.
The front door was opened and the air-con was turned on half way during our meal (presumably as a tactic to encourage customers to leave as it was late and the restaurant was not overly warm). I couldn't get anybody's attention to address this so I closed the door myself.
Our plates took a while to be cleared and no dessert menu was offered when they eventually were. We called another manager over to ask for the dessert menu.
Dessert was okay, my chocolate fondant was flat as a pancake but still tasted good.
When the bill arrived nothing had been taken off even though our table was 30 minutes late, and a £9 service charge had been added. The service was worth about £2.
